Planet Coaster 2 Cinnabar Springs

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I finished a project. I started this one earlier this year, put it down for a few months, and then "finished" it up in the last few weeks.

This is a hot springs terrain coaster. I'm really happy with the overall effect and had a blast playing with special effects. Of course it isn't done done as I haven't incorporated any lighting yet, and I have a few finishing touches I want to add to the station.

Huge shout out to Tagi! I'm so inspired by your creativity. I used your gentle stream blueprint and reconfigured it to make the brooks in the station and first launch. That actually gave me the idea to turn this area into a hot spring and totally changed the direction of the ride.

Thanks for watching and please tell me if you like it! It's been a tough year for pretty much everyone I know and PC is a great creative outlet.

I know, DLSS5 and gen AI as a whole spark insane controversy. However, one of the biggest fears of people about DLSS5 was, that specific artstyles will be destroyed. So i tested it on Planco and I must say, for 80% of the time it does an incredible job of making the game look like i wished Planco 2 would look like. Lighting is almost always better in terms of colors, materials are enhanced, not changed. Its getting more realistic, yet the definite PlanCo style stays in place. Honestly, PC2 might be one of the best usecases of DLSS5. And this is just a leaked demo, imagine how frontier themselves could make it used even better.

Image Blocksections on LSM Raid with switchtrack and turntable

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi guys, I came across this problem (which might be a bug) with the LSM Raid.

The first train clears the red block without any problems. However, as soon as the second train leaves the green block, it stops and stays there (on the red arrow) indefinitely, even though the first train has already cleared the red block and is in the blue block at that point.

I suspect the problem might be that the game isn't reading the block sections correctly because of the switch track and/or turntable.

All of the blocks are long enough, and the trains are able to come to a complete stop without overshooting or racing through the blocks. There is also plenty of space between all the elements.

I think the issue might have something to do with the backwards section after the spike, possibly because the train passes through the switch track in reverse before reaching the turntable.

Does anyone know how to fix this or have any experience with a similar issue?

Edit: Sorry for the spaghetti bowl

Video Planet Airplane? Ghost trains with invisible tracks make for great aircraft bases!

I took this evening's build of a Cessna 172, stuck it onto a Ghost Train car, and used the "NoTrackLimits" mod to create a "flight path" out of launched track pieces. These pieces end up being naturally invisible, due to that ride type not having launched pieces, and the result is a fun way to create scenic flight tours of your park. Coaster tracks? Baby where we're going, we don't need coaster tracks!

Sometimes it’s worthwhile getting those details right. Added bronze accents (using parade pack float marble 2m piece), shutters, chimney, varied colours more and a few more details and I think it makes a lot of difference! Just feels more alive somehow. I’ll stop posting about this build now! 😝

Planet Coaster 2 Vekoma family boomerang momentum loss?

Trying to make a realistic vekoma family boomerang in game but these trains seem to bleed so much speed that a realistic layout seems impossible without adjusting the friction slider or adding a second drive tire hill for the return. I'm sort of using Speedway stunt coaster in Six Flags Mexico as reference but a different custom layout.

What have people been working with to compensate?

Discussion - PC2 What is your workflow?

Planet Coaster 2 is probably my favorite game and (almost) everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a theme park builder. But I’m also struggling with it a little.

I have SO many ideas, but everything takes so long to build. I can spend hours working on something, then suddenly decide it looks terrible and want to move on to something else 😂 I find it really hard to stick to one idea and actually finish it.

I love the idea of building my dream park, but when I realize that one shop can take me 12 hours, or that the Main Street I have in mind could take 3 months… it gets a little discouraging. At some point it feels less like a game and more like a full-time hobby 😂

We have so many amazing tools and possibilities, but that can also be pretty daunting.
So I’m curious: how do you guys approach building? Do you commit to an idea until it’s finished? Jump between projects? Build quickly and detail later?
Just curious to hear how other people deal with the “I have 500 ideas but each one takes forever” problem!
And just to be clear, this isn’t a rant! I absolutely LOVE this game and play it basically every day ❤️

Children's Flat Ride - Beetle Bumps

Tonight I made a non-functional children's flat ride as a part of the park recreation I'm working on. The beetles & platform do rotate and are set to do so for 40 seconds every couple of minutes just to show the movement, but obviously you can turn that off.

Hoping that some day we get a couple of basic flat rides (rotational with and without slight elevation changes) and some varied car options for kids rides.

It's themed as a part of the park recreation I'm currently working on, but it would be pretty easy to change to fit your section.

Hope someone else can get some use out of it. I'll have a few more as I work through the park, but this project is going to go well into 2027...

This year my family took a trip to San Diego, and my daughter and I got to ride on this coaster at SeaWorld. It was her first grown-up roller coaster so I thought I'd memorialize it in PC2!

Planet Coaster 2 Workshop code: 3YRC1VTKC

It's a relatively simple coaster, and I tried to keep the theming as close to the original as I could, with maybe a few embellishments. I wish I could get the snow-mobile cars they have on the original ride, but the closest thing PC2 has are the motorcycle cars, and they just don't look right.

Here's a POV video of the real life ride

Console Just got Planet Coaster 2 on my Xbox SX. Scared about the object capacity. Any advice?

Is the object capacity actually that detrimental to my player experience? Can I still build relatively large parks? I’m a newbie here. Thanks!

Tried turning Ground Control into a fully themed Orc flat ride [Video link in description]

Been continuing my realistic fantasy builds, but this time I wanted to try something other than another
building.

I took Ground Control and completely transformed it into an Orc-themed flat ride with custom war cart vehicles, a themed queue, ruined tower, cave walkthrough and a couple little training-ground scenes.

Really happy with how much you can change the identity of these flat rides when you start theming the actual moving parts and vehicles rather than only building scenery around them.

Would you guys continue with this Orc style or try a completely different fantasy theme next?

Draycot Vale - my first attempt at a full park

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, this is my first attempt at a full park in PC2, and I'd love any feedback or advice you could give me. For context Draycot Vale is meant to be a brand new, mid-budget UK park, I'm not sure how well I'm hitting that brief though.

Just to clarify, all the graphics have been made from scratch by me, I've not used any AI or anything, making them is probably my favourite part of the game!

I think my weakest area by far is planting so any tips on that would be great, also my gift shop interior seems to be very dark even with the lights on loop, so if you could let me know what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate it.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with Draycot Vale's first attraction!
