Hey everyone, lately I’ve been obsessed with this sort of y2k frutiger aero aesthetic with the blues and greens and grass as well as water + waves. I also recently bought myself a nicer binder and am trying to make themed pages, so I’d like to hear all of your suggestions for frutiger aero aesthetic cards! Can be pokemon, trainers, or really anything.

I’ve been seeing and reading WAY too many stories lately about how people are going into retail stores like target, Best Buy, dollar general, and even card shops just to learn that staff admit to backdooring product or they are specifically selling everything to a single individual. On top of this, there is valid suspicion that at the distribution level, people are stealing or buying legit pallets of product before they even reach their scheduled store location.

Is every single story legit, probably not. Do I still believe many that I’ve seen, oh yes. A bunch of stuff for the 30th anniversary set has already been stolen and sold online… Is Pokemon international investigating or putting any effort into halting this?

I never realized how cool a gold page can be but my front page will always be reserved for the best of the best to me.

My kids are growing up, starting to show interest in Pikachu, I never played or collected anything Pokémon tcg and it seems everywhere are taking preorders for the ETB at $170-200 right now

Are people seriously paying this much for a $50 item?

Always loved the ancient Mew card and have decided to try and collect all the variants. I plan to get a display case for them once I got them all.

Hey all, noob here. I just started collecting again after stopping post-Gen 2 as a child.

When the collection starts dropping on the 16th, is the move just to be at Target & other retailers early, and just hope I get lucky enough to snag some packs?

I assume there’s no secret sauce. It’s just really hard & you have to get lucky.

I did get fleeced by GameStop early so I at least have a booster bundle on preorder.

I went to my local supermarket and they are now selling cards so I got some, pulled this and I think it got wrongly cut? The upper edges are sharp and the lower half.. see for yourself

Looking at the most played decks and the ones that made it to day 2 most of them rely on H block cards. It is clear the devs have been decreasing the power level with almost every expansion featuring I-J.

So, which decks are not absolutely demolish after rotation right now? Maybe Zoroark? Every other is like C tier

I'm curious to hear peoples thoughts on this. There is a new LGS store in my area that is trying to push Pokemon as one of their main draws. I went in and checked out their store and talked with the owners, who seemed like wonderful people. Which is what we need in a LGS.

The worry I have with the store, is the owners viewpoint on Pokemon, even though they want to push it heavily as a selling point of coming to their store. While talking to him, we started discussing vintage Pokemon. And during that discussion, he mentioned that he would never invest any store money into vintage Pokemon stock. Singles, sealed, graded, anything.

His claim is that Vintage is the absolute worst thing in Pokemon to have money sitting in. He mentioned that he feels that once the current "bubble" bursts it will impact vintage much more than it will modern cards.

Do you agree with this? I personally feel like this mindset is a recipe for failure down the line, which I never want to see for any LGS. He is basing his view on modern simply based on his daughter and her friends loving the shiny modern art rare cards.

The love for modern art cards is 100% valid. I have collected Pokemon cards for 27 years, and I also have a deep appreciation for how amazing these modern cards are. But I also firmly believe that the market volatility, especially for a store, tying up lots of capital, is more impacted by volatile modern card shifts than market shifts in the vintage/mid era space.

I also think that if the store wants to be a Pokemon focused store, they are alienating a big portion of the community by only focusing on modern and refusing to even dabble in mid era or vintage.

As the title says, I accidentally bought this card in Spanish. I really wanted it in English. I don’t really know what to do with this card, and I feel like I probably paid too much for it.

Has anyone here used these displays? How well do they hold on or are they prone to being dislodged?

I've been considering getting one of those phone cases like Medusa or Showcased to be able to display somethin' on my phone. However, their options for my model (Galaxy S25+) look like they're not quite as protective as I'd like, having basically always used Otterbox cases for as long as I've had a smartphone. Saw these that stick on via magnet and figured they may be a good alternative but wanted to see what people's experience with em has been.

I’m a huge fan of collecting and playing the TCG. There’s a growing interest for the game in India.

I started to collect original cards 2 weeks ago, I’ve opened 5 packs alr, but some of the cards get curved and I’d like to avoid it

It may just be my brain but looking at both cards I couldn’t help but feel like the new 30th Gengar is heavily inspired by the Gengar VMAX.

Both have these odd buildings with candlelit windows, an interesting moon / clouds, and a Forrest type environment.
I thought maybe they take place in the same world; One before Gengar VMAXes and one after?
Maybe the artist was just being lazy 😅.

In case of accusations, I’m not trying to pump this card - I just noticed something interesting.

Was walking to work this AM and saw that my local smoke shop was carrying pokemon cards again. It’s been almost three years… still overpriced but they actually managed to get a hold of the product. Feels meaningful that the random mom and pop shops are finally able to vend again. Nature is starting to heal.

Stopped by my local card shop on the way home from work and bought a pitch black ETB. Was super hyped to pull the ultra rare mega darkrai EX in the third pack. Next pack had the SIR mega darkrai EX, and then the next pack had the IR goldeen. I was pretty speechless after the SIR mega darkrai, and was just sort of in shock the rest of the time.

I just recently got into the hobby, and am beyond hyped as I know getting one of these cards from an ETB would have been exciting, let alone all three! Wanted to share because I’m pretty stoked!!

I traded one reds pika card nm for all these nm cards. Dont know if dude knew what was up or was he just desperate for the Reds Pikachu. This is what you would call a deal for profit. $1250 in profit to be exact.

I have not played the TCG since the XY era, I do not know what decks are good, what strategies are commonly played, nothing. When it comes to the cards, I collect for the art. I have also played almost every game on the switch. However, I want to change that.

A pokemon content creator I watch regularly talked about how Iono is an incredibly annoying card to play against in the TCG. I love Iono and have an entire binder page dedicated to her and have been wanting to get back into playing the physical TCG (I play pocket a lot in my free time). So that got me thinking, what if I made the most annoying, bitch-made deck featuring one of my favorite modern trainers and my favorite pokemon?

What cards do I need to include to make an electric type deck that will cause people to want to rip their hair out that features Ampharos?
