Bought 6 packs from Walmart, initially just wanted to open 3 and keep the rest, hit nothing, said “fk it lets open one more”. Not a 10 tho holy center. My heart never beats that fast, thought I’m gonna have a stroke for a moment. First hit ever since i started collecting.

Can you tell me what’s wrong with it? I just am looking to downsize my collection and needed to get rid of some cards. Market for all these cards comes to about $297 but i had it posted for $250? Genuinely wondering if that’s too high because I want to be fair.

A few months ago, I dumpster-dived a bunch of books that someone had tossed. Yesterday, I grabbed one to read. I found this in it, I guess it was being used as a book mark? It's the first pokemon card I've ever actually held. Ebay seems to show these going for around $150.

I don't intend to sell this because it's a cool story, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to be sent for grading.

A buddy that collects sports cards gave me a thin card sleeve and then a hard sleeve to protect it.

Caught this morning's restock and surprisingly the EX boxes are back again. Also lots of Ascended tins again if you missed out last week. And if you're interested in Gundam or Dragonball they have these sleeves too. The pull rates on these sets are MUCH better than Pokemon, you have a way better chance of actually pulling a nice card with higher quality cards.

Beyond stoked and plan to get it PSA graded this weekend

I stopped by my LCS to trade some OP/Pokemon/Magic and while I was waiting I saw this Butterfree FB slab in the case, my brothers BIG into vintage 10’s where as I like the arts of the cards I collect, so I sent him a pic and told him they have this in the case and I was getting the price for him

The worker told me “looks like $70 on this one” so I relayed the info, 5 minutes later my brother calls me yelling at me to buy it right then and there and if needed he can even send me the money, of course I was curious and asked why and he said “2 most recent sales on that are $1k each” and my jaw dropped…

Safe to say I grabbed it, said thank you, and walked out so quickly you’d think I just shit myself.

My local DG had some tins. I wouldn’t have even known if I hadn’t just thought to ask. They were still in the case on the bottom shelf behind the counter. The cashier opened the case for me though and said she could give me up to 3.

Looking for a very curious / honest discussion here! For those that are collectors hence opening packs, how much are yall opening? I know Reddit / social media is bias since nobody is posting their dud packs but it sure seems like everyone be getting the ultra rare chase cards. I typically open maybe 10-20 packs per month assuming I can even find product.

Are you guys just ripping like crazy or have insane luck? Somebody teach me the ways

Lowkey Dollar General has been blessing me lately and finding the poster collection products were super unexpected! I feel like I’m slowly gaining hope for the Pokémon TCG hobby again. I did NOT buyout the store like most others do, I only got two or less of everything (except 3 tins; the store had a bajillion of them) since I always leave stuff for others in stores.

Ripped 17 packs and got 12 total hits, felt very lucky this time around. All together I love all the cards I got, it’s not all about getting the top tier chase card.

I dont have experience with them, but I love this gold&white design.

Recently found my old Pokémon card collection that I accumulated when I was a kid. I had some assessed using a price charting app and found some to be of decent value, specially holo legendaries and first generation oldies. Wanted to follow up with the community here to ask how I would go about potential next steps to get these properly assessed or if it’s even worth getting these checked at all. I see a lot of those "found my childhood collection" posts with 5 first edition charizards in NM....

Besides about 500 commons, these are the "hits" from my recently rediscovered childhood collection. They were stored loose in an old suitcase (I thought I was Seto Kaiba apparently), so all LP-MP at best. Nothing too valuable but I got a hit from the nostalgia and thought I'd share what a real rediscovery looks like!

Long st short, I went in to look for a job and on my way out the manager was cleaning under the shelves and had this under the pile of debris he wad swept up. Cashier rang it up and it rang up for a dollar. no hits when I opened it up but it was still a cool find
