My list of foods I'm not eating now is growing. How are U.S. beef producers feeling as early midterms voting in some states begins in just 18 days?

227

u/woogonalski 1d ago

They’re still voting for the same party. These fucking morons put their own pride over logic. A little salt helps leather taste a little better.

49

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

Leather? That might be an improvement over horse meat.

16

u/SmarmyThatGuy 1d ago

As long as they have the boot to suckle, the meat is irrelevant.

8

u/19467098632 1d ago

Hey at least the horse meat won’t have screw worms like the contaminated beef. Isn’t it great here

14

u/Tyrath 1d ago

Horse meat isn't that bad

11

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago
  1. Then we should be told what is being imported and from where. 2. Anyway, no thanks.

2

u/Tyrath 1d ago

Wasn't really a comment on the import fuckery going on. Just that horse meat isn't that unusual or bad in any way.

8

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

Point is, again, again, Trump administration not telling us what we're getting.

-5

u/Tyrath 1d ago

I mean as far as I know they are not getting horse meat, just bad beef. So my point was that horse meat isn't bad and it was a poor choice of comparison.

12

u/Jackpot777 Greg Abbott is a little piss baby 1d ago

For all we know Red States with their hatred of regulations are eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats.

5

u/Tyrath 1d ago

Turns out at the debate he was just prophesying the future.

2

u/MessagingMatters 19h ago

The problem is, you don't know far, and neither do we. Don't forget they are supposed to work for us. We employ them. Not the other way around.

0

u/Tyrath 9h ago

The horse meat stuff is basically a conspiracy theory though. Tainted beef is bad enough, we don't need to act like the conspiracy nuts.

u/TrumpetOfDeath 1d ago

They’ve turned politics into a sport where you support your “team” no matter how bad they are this season

5

u/punktualPorcupine 1d ago

Zee boot is moist enough. Stap licking.

I said Stap! STAP!!

They are hopeless, order rubber boots.

3

u/JayR_97 1d ago

Yep, they'd rather bankrupt their own farms than admit maybe they were wrong about Trump

56

u/OnePointSixOne8 1d ago

I read a lot of posts that say something like: "Sure Trump is ruining everything my family has worked generations to achieve, but he's still better than the alternative".

And then they'll get another taxpayer funded handout and Trump will be a saint again.

19

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

The MAGA cultists won't change their minds. But I think the Independents will, plus many Latinos who voted for him last time.

13

u/iguana-pr 1d ago

I know that the average MAGA IQ is probably in the single digits, but I just cannot comprehend how a latino or minority non-white person can vote for this.

4

u/Background_Home7092 1d ago

Maintain a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.

Many of those people were new to politics, hurting in the post-covid economy, and bought into his bullshit.

10

u/24_August_1814 1d ago

MAGA was given the choice between a senile rapist pedophile who bankrupted half a dozen businesses and was convicted of 34 felonies, or a woman with an unusual laugh, and they couldn't bear to bring themselves to vote for the woman.

2

u/SteinUmStein66 21h ago

These are the same smucks who pay 18,000 to be turned into alpha wolves, what could we expect.

5

u/Fartenstein65 1d ago

You sure about that handout?

5

u/OnePointSixOne8 1d ago

yes, farmers will inevitably get another bailout.

5

u/tattooz1 1d ago

Had Biden pulled this shit he'd have been pilloried for buying votes.

5

u/TrumpetOfDeath 1d ago

Yeah all the Trump voters still in my life say the same thing: “Trump is terrible and I don’t like him, but what’s the alternative? I’m not voting for a Democrat”

Maybe just stay home and don’t vote, grandma

1

u/Themusicison 18h ago

Wait.. aren't handouts socialism?

28

u/eeyore134 1d ago

The list is too long, though.

Lettuce
Meat
Popcorn
White rice
Tofu
Buffalo wings
Donuts
Nut butter
IV fluid
Popsicles
Tomatoes
Granola
Eggs
Garlic powder
Guacamole
Salsa
Bacon
Jalapenos
Multiple dog and cat foods
Kettle chips
Coffee drinks
Date-sweetened chocolate
Moringa powder
Frozen berries
Cuajada and other soft cheeses
Tomato bisque
Pastrami
Corned beef
Frozen pizza
Baby formula
Radishes
Alfalfa sprouts
Mangoes
Ranch dressing

All of this in the last two months, and I'm sure I'm missing some.

6

u/llahlahkje 1d ago

Buy local.

Farmers markets. Butchers who list their sources.

Consolidating the food net and culling the population is part of Project 2025.

Take back our lives. Let the chains rot.

2

u/bitch__ass 15h ago

I appreciate what you’re saying, but that’s simply not feasible for the majority of Americans. This country has given away the ability to buy food from real sources long ago.

5

u/lilbithippie 1d ago

Can we talk about how awful the democrats are taking advantage of this? Why arnt they going to cattle land and saying if they vote blue they will fight the packaging companies low balling USA beef? Campaign on holding defense funds from Iran and Jerusalem. For God's sake just say anything to these guys. Don't tell them it's bad because of Trump say it could be better if they tried the other damn party.

6

u/SmurfStig 1d ago

The problem there is that so many of these areas are so deeply red, it won’t make a difference no matter what.

1

u/lilbithippie 23h ago

But these people say that the democrats never go out there. That they are more concerned with identity politics. You can't say it wrong make a difference without ever trying

3

u/NancyGracesTesticles I ☑oted 2018 and 2020 22h ago

They should definitely go, but there simply aren't very many Democrats who can convince these voters that there are more important things than being able to say the n-word without repercussions.

1

u/DeithWX 13h ago

How are U.S. beef producers feeling as early midterms

Pretty good, it's Biden's fault.

1

u/MessagingMatters 7h ago

Surely it's Obama's still.

Mac and Me and Foodborne Illness

4

u/Loki8382 11h ago

Well, Mac and Me was just an extended McDonald's/Coca Cola advertisement.

23

u/T33CH33R 1d ago

Aren't we just so blessed to be living under peak Republican governance where "just die" is their party platform if you aren't rich.

4

u/Tiger37211 13h ago

He's even saying hospice patients are taking too long to die and I'm not paraphrasing

109

u/BigBlueMountainStar 1d ago

Who’d have thought that big corporations would skip safety testing to save money if they were given the option?

24

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

And that doing so would come back to bite them on the ass?

1

u/bitch__ass 15h ago

It’s not biting them in the ass. The recalls and associated fines were planned in the budget. They’re making more money from their cost savings.

1

u/MessagingMatters 7h ago

I can only say that I've skipped purchases of certain items like lettuce and beef. I'm not the only one.

19

u/lianodel 1d ago

I've gotten into arguments with conservatives by pointing out that corporations have a financial incentive to cut costs and increase prices. Seriously. And that's before talking about the focus on quarterly earnings, or inelastic demands.

Same people who would argue with me for pointing out that employers make money off of your work. As if that isn't the entire goddamned POINT of wage labor.

Some people are allergic to thinking.

13

u/MauPow 1d ago

They always come back to "consumers can choose to purchase whatever" as if the entire industry isn't just 3 companies in a monopoly trenchcoat

2

u/SryInternet101 1d ago

Every regulation is written in blood and lives.

71

u/ArtistEngineer 1d ago

I guess there's some definition of "Great Again" that I'm yet to learn.

25

u/muFUtaco 1d ago

It means don donny has replenished all his offshore bank accounts and is ready for his next caper - the gold reserves at Ft. Knox.

3

u/Bay1Bri 1d ago

Honestly, a farcical comedy about the President looking to pull off an Oceans's 11 style heist at Fort Knox has potential lol

4

u/muFUtaco 1d ago

It's not going to be funny.

Him and mush have been working on "the tunneling machine" since the two cased Ft. Knox after he was elected. You don't think those billions trump has been laundering through musk have gone to "space flight" do you?

Wiping out our gold reserves will open the door for foreign "investors" to come in and buy up America for a penny on a dollar.

9

u/Poverty_Shoes 1d ago

Foodborne illness occurrence is Greater than it used to be. Now America is Great again.

4

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump decides to do a similarly phony "Mission Accomplished" for Iran right before the midterms. They're in desperation mode. Fair to say I don't think it would be successful.

2

u/Beat_the_Deadites 1d ago

Make Alimentation Germy Again?

Mega Ascaris Going Apeshit?

50

u/T1gerAc3 1d ago

If we all had more roadkill in our diets, our stomachs wouldn't be so sensitive. Rfk is giving us our medicine.

26

u/FELTUX 1d ago

You gotta hop on that raccoon penis diet. Highly underrated.

3

u/crm006 1d ago

Does it have to be a diet? What if I wanted a LOT of raccoon peni?

3

u/Babayaga20000 1d ago

Diet does not automatically mean small amount. It just means regularly consumed food / drink

3

u/neveruseyourrealname 1d ago

Exactly! Same thing with raw milk.

2

u/DelcoUnited 1d ago

It’s got what plants crave!

1

u/Bay1Bri 1d ago

Gotta go swimming in shit.

"Hey! There's a river with sewage runoff over there! Grab the grandkids, we're goin in!"

29

u/s3thgecko 1d ago

Just wait a few years and a new grifter will suggest it's stupid to wash your hands, ever.

18

u/lianodel 1d ago

You mean like Pete Hegseth already did?

He later called it a joke but, you know.

6

u/LordAlvis 1d ago

Nah, we already made that guy secretary of war.

"I don't think I've washed my hands for 10 years."

4

u/Bay1Bri 1d ago

"I never wash my hands and I'm healthy! You know why? I have an ImMuNe SysTeM1!1!1!"

u/foehammer111 1d ago

Came here to make sure someone had given thanks for the blessings of the Plague Father, leaving satisfied.

I decided a while back that in my headcanon the helmet Vox-casters of the Death Guard make them all sound like Bobby Brainworm.

21

u/Temporary-Suit9121 1d ago

400 percent, so far

19

u/Mak062 1d ago

So is there not an investigation or hearings on going about this?

20

u/kryotheory 1d ago

Lmao ofc not

14

u/DelcoUnited 1d ago

By republicans? What country do you live in?

11

u/lyngen 1d ago

Republicans are in charge of congress so no. They don't want to investigate how crappy of a job they are doing.

9

u/Axi0madick 1d ago

trump doesn't want to actually do anything and he doesn't want any statistics that make his administration, or more importantly, HIM, look incompetent. He'll claim the numbers are fake, made up by radicals hired by Obama/Biden, throw around some accusations of treason or domestic terrorism, and will ultimately stop any additional outgoing federal reporting on foodborne illnesses, and threaten to freeze any funding of state health departments who make any claims about foodborne illnesses or contaminated food. People will continue to get sick, but he'll claim the food has never been cleaner/safer/healthier, etc. Then the next horrible thing will happen and we'll all just collectively accept this as the new normal.

13

u/DieMensch-Maschine 1d ago

Remember when MAGA right wingers would make meat a fundamental part of their identity.

Well, eat up, motherfuckers!

3

u/lianodel 1d ago

Or when the very same people, RFK Jr. in particular, said you don't need vaccines and psychiatric medication, you just need to follow their "diet."

8

u/DieMensch-Maschine 1d ago

I remember tapeworm being a thing in the countryside when I was a kid growing up behind the Iron Curtain, when local peasants tried to save a few pennies by not getting their meat inspected. Now imagine that issue compounded by greedy agro corporations who want that extra percentage growth on their quarterly report.

2

u/TheEnlight 14h ago

They were the Ozempic of the 1800s. People deliberately got infected with them.

10

u/jwr1111 1d ago

The face of ignorance.

11

u/muFUtaco 1d ago

Worse... the face of willful malicious bad intent for America.

11

u/Wet_Side_Down 1d ago

Do not discount Elon’s the DOGEing of foods inspectors

8

u/nismo2070 1d ago

Food insecurity. It's in project 2025. Chapter 10.

8

u/ChHeBoo 1d ago

The US 18 months away from watering the crops with Brawndo.

5

u/Liberty_Chip_Cookies 1d ago

It does have what plants crave. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/norakb123 10h ago

Someone on this site said that we aren’t in idiocracy because the president actually cared about the people, and I’ve thought about it almost every day since. You nailed the stupidity, but they may just be evil enough to do it too.

6

u/nitelitecafe 1d ago

If I know my MAGA logic, Kid Rock will save us. It’s just a matter of time….

6

u/statistacktic 1d ago

It's by design, read project 2025.

5

u/CobraPony67 1d ago

It seems crazy that as soon as they lower the standards, the companies would lower their quality. It is almost as if they value profits over the safety of their product...

5

u/elontux 1d ago

Nothing like bringing shame to your family’s good name. Fucking idiot.

5

u/FELTUX 1d ago

Imagine building a great legacy just for your son to turn into a raccoon penis collector that declares war on fat gay kids.

3

u/rwf2017 1d ago

It's trump's golden age of food poisoning.

5

u/CrisXIII 1d ago

Who would have thought that an unqualified idiot with no medical background whatsoever would be unfit to lead the department of health. Crazy

3

u/kneppy72 1d ago

It’s almost like we shouldn’t have trusted the guy with a brainworm to tell us what’s healthy or not…

3

u/muFUtaco 1d ago

We can't afford real meat and this fucker has just made it risky to eat ground up leftover cow.

Great.

Any other news from the trump idiot squad?

3

u/bscheck1968 1d ago

Hey, don't forget measles is back too. All diseases matter.

3

u/Pizzasaurus-Rex 1d ago

But both sides, amiright?

4

u/Liberty_Chip_Cookies 1d ago

At least we don't have to live under the regime of a woman who had the audacity to laugh occasionally.

1

u/Pizzasaurus-Rex 17h ago

I still have nightmares about hunters laptop and buttery males. *shudders*

3

u/titivator 1d ago

This guy is secretly a demon prince of nurgle

3

u/Jeramy_Jones 1d ago

That’s not really fair.

Elon musk is also to blame.

3

u/AdFlat1014 1d ago

Looks like meat is off the menu boys! Also eggs, salad, tomato, garlic, rice, tofu etc etc

4

u/reb678 1d ago edited 1d ago

400%? Is that real math or GOP math?

Edit: this was meant as sarcasm about how the government was saying things decreased by 1500% and all that.
Sorry if it didn’t come across that way.

7

u/DelcoUnited 1d ago

Things can go up 400%, not down 400%.

6

u/FELTUX 1d ago

Wdym? 400% means 4x.

6

u/Weelildragon 1d ago

Not sure if this is all RFK's fault.

DOGE cuts to the government seem like a recipe for disaster too.

5

u/Parahelix 1d ago

Still primarily his fault if he wasn't warning us about their inability to do their job due to cuts.

4

u/Scaevus 21h ago

First of all, this leather-skinned roadkill scavenger supported Trump and told his brain damaged, antivaxx supporters to vote for Trump. So whatever happens under Trump is absolutely his fault.

Second of all, this ballsack-faced troglodyte is the one who gave Elon the names of all the scientists and inspectors to fire, because he’s wanted to destroy the federal health system for decades, on account of having his brains eaten by worms.

Zero excuses or sympathies for this science denying, fascism enabling, creepy nepo baby who swims in raw sewage and acts every bit as a weird as he looks and sounds.

Fuck this guy. Seriously. He has blood on his hands. Think about how many people are going to die because of his policies.

3

u/Kasoni 1d ago

Incompetence and malice seems like a recipe for disaster.

1

u/Bay1Bri 1d ago

And the recipe calls for unpasteurized dairy

2

u/dramallamacorn 1d ago

Who needs ozempic when your food will poison you?

2

u/shitty_sandwich 1d ago

So he fucked up the food safety laws by rolling them back or reducing them or whatever. These goddamn companies didn’t have to follow along! He’s a fucking nut bag and everyone knows it. Why couldn’t they have just kept going the way they always have. Oh yeah I forgot, it’s America and it’s all about the fucking dollar.

2

u/rowdydionisian 1d ago

Get down with (the completely preventable) sickness!

2

u/Chartarum 1d ago

A weakened population is easier for his Worm overlords to subjugate.

2

u/a-snakey 1d ago

MAGA's: you arent a real man if you cant stand handle a little food poisoning! Dying of food poisoning is beta behavior!

2

u/Smartimess 1d ago

Say what you want about my old European democracies, but we get rid of unqualified crooked bastards who try to kill us.

WHY AREN’T YOU ON THE STREETS DEMANDING THE HEAD OF THIS MURDEROUS IDIOT? HE IS LITERALLY KILLING YOUR NEIGHBOURS!

1

u/fergehtabodit 1d ago

Maha ha haha

1

u/stokeszdude 1d ago

Idiot does idiotic things. Weird. /s

1

u/kitjen 1d ago

I feel like any normal group of people would have to work damn hard to find a way to get so many things wrong but for everyone in this administration it just comes naturally.

1

u/rje946 1d ago

But I'm told in every single one of these threads by very new accounts that this year is exactly the same as every other year.

1

u/ShaggysGTI 1d ago

What’s the other end of this? How much can they possibly be saving by the loosening of regulation? Seems like a Tyler Durden sort of thing.

1

u/LiamtheV 1d ago

That’s a 5x increase in one year, Jesus Christ.

1

u/leighla33 1d ago

I mean, he does have the poster face for such issues

1

u/silsum 1d ago

Yeah you morons that voted for him sure did.

1

u/Bay1Bri 1d ago

Don't let the guy who willingly eats roadkill decide what is and is not safe to eat.

1

u/ericresendiz 1d ago

Brought to you from the guy that eats roadkill Jajaj

1

u/Darkwr4ith 1d ago

I mean it all makes perfect sense when you consider the brain worms inside RFK jr's head are in control of him. The worms are trying to get more people infected like their in a game of Plague Inc.

1

u/TylerKasprzyk 1d ago

Good luck

1

u/SophiaKittyKat 1d ago

What's surprising is just how quickly food producers dropped the facade of regulating themselves. You'd think they would have just continued doing what they were doing for a few years to convince the public that this was the best way, but instead it's like the second trump took office they cut all the shifts where the equipment gets cleaned to save a dollar 95.

1

u/BeesVBeads 1d ago

Wasn't this part of project 2025? Intentionally creating food insecurity?

1

u/forgot_pswd 1d ago

Just making sure everyone gets a worm... or two, three, or even 5.

1

u/that_gu9_ 1d ago

The whole thing is a bit of a shit show

1

u/TheLordOfAwesome2 1d ago

Maybe putting the guy who openly admits to eating roadkill in charge wasn't a good idea.

1

u/chicken-finger 1d ago

In trump math, that's a 60000% increase

1

u/GEO147064 1d ago

Also because of the dismantling of the FDA and USDA, fucking psychopaths.

1

u/Salamok 1d ago

Trump wants everyone to shit their pants just like he does and rfk wants everyone to have a brainworm.

1

u/ImTooSaxy 1d ago

Apparently a good portion of society needs to be reminded from time to time why we have food regulations, and vaccine regulations and abortion rights. It's going to take a lot of people dying before we get back to a good place, and it's going to take a lot of white Christian daughters dying from botched abortions to get that back too.

1

u/NikkolaiV 1d ago

According to Google's AI overview, recalls are slightly below historical average as of August.

So just in case you thought you could trust Google.

1

u/drew_silver202 1d ago

so you are telling me, that without the enforcement of the government, companies will try and feed us even worst ?

1

u/TheBlackUnicorn 1d ago

Who would have imagined putting a man who traffics in antivax conspiracy theories in charge of the Health Department would be a bad idea? /s

1

u/-nyx- 1d ago

The worms are taking over the US of DumbfuckingA

1

u/drifters74 1d ago

Thanks DOGE, why isn't Elon jailed for this??

1

u/Megbarlis 1d ago

Americans love to sue, after all, so why not get started?

1

u/New_Flow_5941 1d ago

Strangely enough, leadership has gone down by 400%!

1

u/Jackpot777 Greg Abbott is a little piss baby 1d ago

100% they voted for it.

I’m not saying they knew what they were voting for.

1

u/Environmental-Age149 1d ago

The radical change being, “NO FOOD SAFETY STANDARDS”…..something, something cause-and-effect….

1

“Let them eat cake poop”

1

u/Soylentgruen 1d ago

All Republicans need to answer for this. Just a bunch of stinky garbage people.

1

u/-bad_neighbor- 1d ago

Who would have thought hiring an unintelligent herion addict trust fund baby to be in charge of all of America's health and medical needs would be a mistake?

1

u/GrassBlade619 23h ago

Are we up to 6 major recalls just this year now or is it more?

1

u/Lythieus 23h ago

But I'm sure SOMEBODY is getting a little richer off this, so it's ok.

1

u/mr_grey 22h ago

This was the MAGA plan for making Americans lose weight. Contaminate the food.

1

u/iamjustaguy 22h ago

During these hard times, the Kennedy family sends us their "special" boy.

1

u/seriousbusines 21h ago

Literally a chapter in Project 2025. But that has nothing to do with Trump, right?

1

u/Immediate-Machine370 20h ago

Winner winner rat gut dinner

1

u/SparkleBait 19h ago

This guy should be brought up on charges of trying to kill the American People…

1

u/stragedyandy 18h ago

How likely is it that RFK Jr is being fully controlled by brain worms and they are bent on spreading to become the new parasitic master race? Like could all of this be purposeful brain worm sabotage meant to infect more humans with brain worms?

1

u/Oldiebones 15h ago

Just sprinkle some Brawndo on the food

1

u/Tiger37211 13h ago

Honestly I'm shocked we're not dealing with mad cow disease at this point. Kennedy is a loon

1

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 12h ago

When you put clowns in charge, you get a circus. Trump is a clown. RFK is a clown.

1

u/bud3l2 12h ago

Are we great yet?

1

u/NfamousKaye 11h ago

Every day I wonder how he’s the Kennedy that survived.

1

u/norakb123 10h ago

Wasn’t this in Project 2025? We can’t be surprised by any of this. Disappointed? Upset? Mad? Absolutely.

1

u/Ok_Necessary2991 8h ago

Are we sure RFK Jr isn't a zombie trying to infect others to make more like him? That explains brain worm and voice.

1

u/Hot-Tutor-2429 8h ago

Yep, they did vote for this.

u/popejohnsmith 1h ago

80 years of unprecedented health, prosperity, and comfort swirling round the toilet bowl while we all watch.

u/AdmirableCountry9933 1h ago

Wait, I thought nothing can go more than 100%.

1

u/TheNewYellowZealot 1d ago

Almost as if making one person for food safety policy is a horrible fucking idea.

-5

u/M1ck3yB1u 1d ago

Well, this is a fair price for saving Gaza by not voting for Kamala.

7

u/MessagingMatters 1d ago

Yes, saving Gaza by bulldozing it to build pricey resorts for westerners.

-3

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

1

u/M1ck3yB1u 1d ago

What % of destruction of Gaza happened under Biden?

I'm being sarcastic. People didn't vote for Kamala to protest Gaza and things got a LOT worse in Gaza + Iran added to the picture. So yeah, those people are fucking morons.

-1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

-1

u/chargedcapacitor 1d ago

Don't kid yourself, there were a lot more things the party did to lose that election. Gaza was just the cherry on top for a sub set of progressive voters.

-2

u/whg115 1d ago

Would love if people got angry instead of kept making jokes. Cope harder everyone.
