Unlike MAGA, who keeps their murderers and rapists contained safely in the halls of the capital.

Love it when people have no reply so they bring up something else entirely

Unserious accusations deserve unserious rebuttals.

If you actually were serious (and that would be kinda sad), the rebuttal would be that there are no elected Democrat representatives who push for prison abolition, and phrases like "defund the police" don't mean what you seem to think they mean. You'd have to be in one hell of an echo chamber not to know that, to assume you didn't would frankly be an insult but I guess it would also be a factually accurate one.

Everything Ive said is backed up by their own political parties websites. But I wouldn't expect a bad faith actor like yourself to actually look into anything

That's not true though.

This is the official 2024 Democratic Party platform. I encourage you to ctrl-F the page and search for keywords like "police", "prison", "defund", and "abolish". You will find a whole lot of examples of the party saying that they love police states actually and how the police budgets should go up if anything.

You genuinely have no idea what the politics are like on the other side.

hes not a democrat though, hes dsa, thats why he does fundraisers for them and attends multiple dsa rallies. he might claim hes not dsa but if i fundraise for trump and attend multiple maga rallies you would call me maga even if i say im not. and on the official dsa website they explicitly call for freedom for all incarcerated people. which means they want to let murderers and rapists out onto the street. try actually looking into people instead of just blindly listening to what they say like a drone and you might actually learn something for once.

The DSA also doesn’t call for the abolition of all prisons and releasing murderers and rapists onto the streets.

Here’s what the DSA’s website says on the issue: ā€œDemilitarize police departments, disempower police unions, and redirect funding to public services as steps towards fully abolishing the police and prison system which protects the rich and jails the poor. Treat drug addiction and mental illness as health issues, not crimes. End qualified immunity and empower civilian oversight bodies with real authority over the police.ā€

Notice how it does not say ā€œabolish all prisons, release all inmates, and do literally nothing elseā€. It’s talking about taking steps towards making it practical to replace the current system with a new one that’s more fair and that doesn’t privilege the rich and punish the poor. The plan in the short-term is by treating drug addiction as a sickness and not a crime, funding non-police measures to reduce crime, and demilitarizing the police. Dealing with crime at the source instead of just giving police larger sticks to beat people harder.

The United States has the largest prison population of any nation on Earth, in terms of both total number of prisoners and prisoners per capita. Wanting to reform this insane system is not the same as wanting rapists and murderers to go free. But of course conservatives have to use fearmongering tactics to drive opposition to their precious police state.

all you can do is lie huh? this is directly on the dsa website

"For all of the working class to achieve collective liberation we must constrain, diminish, andĀ abolish the carceral forces of the state — from prisons and police themselves, to theirĀ manifestations in all forms throughout society. Each step forward in reducing the size, power,Ā and authority of the repressive forces of the state expands the space for mass, organized, andĀ collective action of the working class, and clears ground for us to build the institutions of aĀ society to serve our communities with real justice and equality.

We are committed to the horizon of abolition and the path leading us there. Our demands:

  • Defund the police by rejecting any expansion to police budgets or scope of enforcement while cutting budgets annually towards zero
  • End the criminalization of working-class survival
  • Freedom for all incarcerated people
  • Demilitarize the police and end colonial policing of our cities and neighborhoods
  • Freedom of working-class self-organization and democratic political action
  • Invest in community self-governance and care, not cops"

notice how one of those lines is freedom for all incarcerated people? do you need me to explain what all means? or how about incarcerated people? because when you put those words together it means they want to release all prisoners. who is included in all? oh thats right, murderers and rapists.
