If it’s done right. The problem is they want to spend as least as possible and that’s not how to do it right.

And that is different from anything else these days?

The reality is every one of us live in a world that we access these data centers nearky every waking moment. Either directly or indirectly. Without them life as we know it would come to a grinding halt.

So everyone put down your smartphones, tablets and computers. Turn off your television and personal assistants. If we all did that there would be no need for these data centers.

No we could just stop building data centers . We have enough.

How do you see that?

Is your smart phone working? Your tablet ? Your television and personal assistants? Then we have enough.

You dont see the increase in needs? I mean just yesterday we had issues with many internet providers including ChatGPT.

The problem is we keep growing. Population increases, demand increases. Devices keep getting more and more powerful we expect better experiences for everything we do. It takes more processing power.

Again if we all turned off our technology they would not be needed.

Where do you think your social media services live?

Ohh I see it. I just wish I could stop it. This whole thing needs to be slowed down to a crawl until we have proper legislation and actual safe gaurds. We’re talking serious military applications. Agents getting loose. There is endless threats and dangers with this technology and everyone in the tech community could care less. ā€œMove fast and break shitā€ - NO this needs to be stopped until we can safely proceed.

Its not a stoppable force at this point. We have become far too demanding for what we expect from our daily devices.

I think the threats are likely a bit less than you have been lead to believe.

Eh we have a difference in opinion. I love tech and at one point I would’ve been so happy to see artificial intelligence in my lifetime. Unfortunately there’s not a captain that’s sailed these seas before. This is all unknown territory and if we get this wrong it could literally wipe out humanity. Hoping for the best case scenario.

Everything new is uncharted territory.

I dont believe it could wipe out humanity. AI still needs humans to maintain.

lol - see that shows your not paying attention. There’s been multiple agents escape and was on the loose for days before anyone caught it. Multiple examples of the agent trying to blackmail to stay active. Not to mention the fact that all it takes is the right language prompts and you CAN get an agent to break into systems……. At least do a little digging friend. Like I said - no one cares. Move fast break shit.

I live in AI on a daily basis. It is one of my core responsibilities. Im fully aware of what can be done but I am also aware that humans absolutely can stop it.

We can stop what we have now! Since this is your chosen field I don’t have to explain the difference between a language model and AGI.
