🤝 Interviews Interview acceptance rate
If u get an interview, what are ur chances of getting into the school?
r/predental • u/Calvith • Jun 19 '26
Hi all!
This is the megathread where we will keep track of interviews for the subreddit for the '26-'27 cycle. As has become custom, we will track results via a single thread with comments representing all the schools. People don't tend to be so good at hunting for individual threads (even when easily linked), so the single thread makes things much easier to moderate. Use our SCHOOL FINDER to help you quickly locate your high-level comment of interest.
We will use the typical Student Doctor Network (SDN) format because it's tried and true. Copy and paste the format below in the relevant comment chain.
Interview #__ / Rejection #__ (pick the one that applies and delete the other)
School: Name
URM/ORM? (optional)
Notification date: Date
Method of notification: Portal, Email, or Call
Residency: State
AADSAS mail-out date: Date your app was verified
Application complete date: Date the school said your file was complete
GPA (science, overall): x.xx, x.xx
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17):
Dates available OR your interview date:
Method of interview: Virtual or In-person or either?
Good luck! 🦷

This is your place to discuss the Dental Admission Test (DAT). Do you need to vent about studying or content? Decide on the best source of preparatory materials? Discuss scheduling the exam via the ADA? Perhaps ask about the particularities of the exam day? This is the thread to do so!
Note: feel free to make independent DAT breakdown posts. This weekly thread is meant to cut down on the overwhelming number of DAT posts, but not take away from your success!

I submitted my UCLA app June and emailed them my Fee Waiver and I still havent gotten a response. My app for UCLA also says its noncompete and pending on my supplemental fee.
Are they just gonna ghost my email and app until I pay the supplemental fee?
Anyone else had their supplemental fee waiver granted?

This is a super random question but has anyone gotten an interview invite at night? Or are schools just sending them out during “business hours”?

How long before the interview should I start prep?
Other than the SDN questions, how should I prepare for interviews? And what attitude should we hold during them? What should our mentality be going into the interview?

Hey everyone, I just received an email today that I will have to complete this Kira Assessment by next Tuesday. I am a bit overwhelmed, but excited.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Wishing everybody luck this cycle!

Hey!
I’m working through my UAlberta DDS application for this cycle and wanted some advice on the employment section.
You’re allowed up to 3 entries for employment, with a 250-character brief description that entails the role.
One of my entries will for sure be the place I’ve worked at for the last 2 years, except summers, where I’m a behavioural aide for kids with disabilities.
Over this past summer and summer 2025, I worked at a day camp for kids with disabilities. In 2025, I was a senior counsellor, and this past summer, I was a supervisor of the camp.
Another role I have is at an amusement park, where I worked during the summers from 2022–2024, so 3 summers total, and have a lot of hours. However, it was not too recent, and I’m not sure if it makes my application stand out.
My question is whether I should use all 3 of these in the entries and combine my 2 roles from the summer camp into one entry, or if I should have 2 separate entries for the summer camp, use the behavioural aide role as another entry, and exclude the amusement park role.
Also, am I allowed to combine the 2 summer camp roles into one entry since they were at the same organization, even though I held different positions each summer?

1) When is it considered “early applicant” and an interview invite considered early?
2) when is it typical to get interviews?

Hey just got an email from the IDEP program, is this like an actual interview invite? Do they send this to everyone who applies through IDEP? And do I have to also get an interview and acceptance through Creighton to get this program or if im accepted through this am I automatically enrolled into Creighton?

hey guys I’m a sophomore who just switched to pre dental. I heard dent school prestige doesnt matter. is that true? (in terms of getting job etc)
I want to go to cheap schools that gives many clinical experience/practice. What are some list of schools?
Also I see some concerning posts here not getting any interviews with crazy shadow/volunterring hours. What do you guys recommend doing to increase chance of acceptance? (ie whats the most important focus area)

Hi everyone! I’d love to get some opinions on interview attire for women as I have an interview coming up.
I have four suits (blazer + matching pants): solid black, baby blue, beige, and brown. I personally really like the baby blue one, but I’ve heard that for dental school interviews it’s better to stay more traditional and conservative, with black, navy, or charcoal gray being the safest choices.
At the same time, I’d like to stand out a little without being too fashion-forward or having my outfit distract from the interview itself. Do you think a baby blue suit would be completely appropriate, or would you recommend sticking with black/charcoal gray?
If you were choosing between these options, which one would you go with? I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have already interviewed or served on admissions/interview committees!

Juat finished my virtual portion of the Creighton interview, it was only 19 minutes though...
Felt super short and super easy compared to the mock interviews I did, it felt fine tbh but like man was it short lol.
Anyone have any experience with this? Im a little nervous but I felt like my answers were good.

I am applying this cycle but I wanted to create a tool that includes almost everything you need to keep track of as a pre-dent.
Its completely free and I only ask for you to follow/share this tool to other pre-dents. I keep seeing similar tools that require you to pay hundreds of dollars with minimal features.
You can log your experiences, coursework, and stats.
I included a feature called smart import that can read almost any file with your coursework/experiences and automatically fill in your tracker (see video)
-this feature was trained on a few data sets so if yours doesn't work send me a message
* secure google sign in
* automatic DAT score conversions
* Target GPA calculator and automatic GPA calculator when you input coursework
* school stats (DAT and GPA) and indicators to see if the school fits your stats.
-This is not a live feature and may need some updating (send new stats if you have)
* live interview tracker from SDN - it automatically sorts by the newest invites and highlights any within the last 7 days: https://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/official-2026-2027-school-interview-invites-tracker.1519841/
* space to answer specific interview questions from each school (thank you SDN)
* space to answer general interview questions
* goals checklist for pre-dents
* customizable animations and themes
* If you find this helpful please share
* I create tools to help people study (especially for those who have ADHD)
* If you have any ideas on how to improve this please fill out the form at the bottom of the website or shoot me a dm

I was put on interview waitlist for KCU today. Should I be happy or worried? This is also the only school that has said anything about interview this cycle for me.

Hi everyone!! I’m just curious how many interview invites you’ve gotten so far and from which schools if you don’t mind sharing. So far I’ve heard from LECOM and Touro. I applied first week!

I’m an IS applicant and I’m wondering if anyone knows when UNC will send out their first wave of invites.
Thanks!

Hi everyone. I applied last cycle and got wailisted and i retook my dat aug 1st( original was 410AA, 350PAT) and on the retake i got 390 AA and 410 PAT. I already submitted my apps this cycle and I want to retake my dat early oct bc most of the schools i want to go to only take most recent dat. I am feeling so unmotivated because this is a huge risk and by oct most interview invites will have been sent and what if I also do bad the 3rd time. I guess I am asking if anyone has gone thru a similar thing and if they did what helped them not spiral and shut down and stay motivated. Any advice would be great thanks everyone!!

Just received this after my Kira. Does this mean there’s an in person interview or just an invite to tour?
