I work in an office with pretty locked down connectivity. I've already been burned by an HP printer and want to not make the same mistake. I print about 500 color, double-sided pages/month. I can connect to our Wi-Fi, but can't do anything that involves downloading/installing/location services. Help? 🙏🏼

My Brother printer is now only printing blank pages. I'm low on Yellow but it saying just switch to B/W and it'll work...except that printing greyscale just prints blank paper as well. Tried cleaning nozzles repeatedly, tried test pages, nada.

So, I have a cannon mx490. I don't use it often and, the ink dries out. I just learned this was a thing on Sunday, and Ave I absolutely do fit the use case of this occuring.

The thing I don't get though, it's always the black ink never the color. I'm pretty sure I use the color even less.

Not really in the mood to buy a new printer right now. Got a new black cartridge and plan to turn it off from the printer button (used to just always leave it on) and print a page every week or two. If this doesn't work out I'm going to start looking at laser.

Really just curious though, why just the black ink?

As the title stated. How to stop the label maker from wasting papers like this? These short papers spit out every time the printer cut a label.

My HP Photosmart C4780 was doing so well, until a cartridge replacement led to an error: "Print Cartridge Error" (it might have been just "Cartridge Error", or something similar, but you get the idea.

So I try swapping out the new and old cartridges, and found that even the cartridges which were fine before now produce this error - and it's only when both tri-colour and black cartridges are in place that the error message comes up, if there's only one cartridge it instead says "Cartridge missing or not detected" or similar.

So I want to reset it and see whether the error can be cleared. I've found the support menu, which contains a Resets Menu with the following selections: Country/language reset, Partial reset, Semi-full reset.

This seems to imply that there's another even-more-complete-reset, somewhere...

I'm a bit confused on what type of printer should I go for my office document printing . Is it laser or ink tank printer ? I also sometimes need color printing .

I'm sitting here typing this next to my Canon LBP646Cdw color laser printer in my office that is becoming a nightmare to deal with in toner replacements. We print 40-100 scale tickets daily on 3 section perforated paper. What I'm finding is that the toner replacements are killing us.

Genuine Canon 075 Toner is ungodly expensive, and the aftermarket toners aren't up the snuff yet, and cause streaking 9/10 times.

I'm looking for a way to maintain decently fast print speed without breaking the bank, so I've started looking into tank printers. The questions I have are mostly whether this would be a good fit for the yard? I know in the past there has been issues with nozzles clogging etc but that shouldn't be an issue with a daily use printer as far as I understand?

Can anybody recommend a decently reliable tank printer that can

• Print on perforated paper
• Print 2 sided prints
• Prints fairly fast (the canon prints 26ppm)

A paper drawer would be preferrable over a feed tray, and a scanner/copier isn't really a need. Sorry for the specifics, but shopping for a printer now days is like the wild west.

I've had this old HP Deskjet I got for like $30 back when I was a teenager for YEARS because I was broke + the cartridges are easy to refill so I get to print for (almost) free. Back when I got it, HP was essentially the only easily accessible & affordable brand in my country (Colombia), so I was forced to buy it.

Thankfully, that's no longer the case! Yay!

I'm still broke by international standards tho, so I need your help on choosing literally anything that is NOT from HP.

Requirements:

• Must have a scanner
• Must be an inkjet

That's it. I'd prefer if it allows third party ink and/or has an ink tank.

Something under $100 would be great but I know miracles don't exist so don't be afraid to suggest a higher quality option if you believe it's worth the price, absolute max I'm willing to spend is ~$200.

Note: I know Brother is great, but repair options in case of malfunction are limited in my country so I'd prefer a different brand like Epson or Canon because I'm more likely to find a technician that knows to fix these brands, you're still welcome to suggest it if you think it's worth it.

Impossible de contourner même avec la plus performante des IA. Le second problème est qu'une cartouche générique coûte en moyenne 3,50€ pour ce genre de modèle. La cartouche Epson coûte environ 20€ et il y en a 4 et n'apportent aucune plus-value.

I have a very simple, inkjet printer HP Envy 6100e. I barely print on this thing. When I started, I enrolled in its ink subscription program. And then I noticed I was getting charged weekly at varying little amounts. And I wasn’t even printing a damn thing. So I canceled it and when I installed the cartridges that they gave me when I did enroll. I got the lovely little message below.

Anyway, I’m curious if there are any workarounds here or if I am doomed to buy fricking $61 in ink. Ideas welcome.

Hi good people, I want to make a self paying printing setup of my own (you can call it a printing vending machine). For that, I'm considering printers with high input capacity but at a low budget the maximum input capacity I found of most of the printers are 100 pages which is not enough. So, can you suggest me what to do? Paper feeders look also expensive. What about photocopiers?

Looking for you suggestions. And if there's someone who made this kind of thing, kindly please respond, I might need your help.

Already used the "ink liberation" option in the camon program, it got a little better but still very little colored ink and no black ink

Our 12+ year-old Brother laser printer has been dying slowly over the last few years. I could try to fix it up and have it keep going, as I've done about 6 years ago, but there are lots of annoyances, especially around connection issues, so I just want to get us a new printer. With three kids in school, we constantly need to print and scan things, and having the current printer act up once in a while, plus having to use a very slow, small standalone scanner is just not going to cut it anymore.

So, I'm looking for recommendations. I definitely want to stick with a laser printer. We've used inkjet in the past and I hated every one of those printers. It needs to be a color printer. It needs to have a scanner (while I could get a separate scanner, I think it'll be much more convenient due to space logistics around where this would go).

I'm currently looking at Brother MFC-L3780CDW ($569.98 on Amazon) or Brother MFC-L3765CDW ($459.99 at Costco).

3780 has higher PPM (31 vs 27), more connectivity options and auto-duplex for scanning (I think that would be awesome to have).

Has anyone used these? I think these extra features may be worth the additional $110? Do they both use the same toner cartridges?

I'm also open to other recommendations, of course.

Printer HP m1005 trying to print manga, don't know the correct way to insert pages and end up with wrong pages on the back and orientation

I used to print before but I forgot it, it has been too long and I used to do microsoft print to pdf (just to store it in case I don't have special pdf reader software available so I can print via browser pdf function) of a regular pdf of manga which I made through scribus and then doing odd even pages print of that booklet pdf, I don't know how correct it is but please guide me how to do it properly. I searched on the internet and didn't find anything that could help. Like the title says, i have a No Toner Error on my Brother DCP-L2550DW. I have a third-party cartridge and don't have anymore the Brother one. I had another TN760 cartridge that i tried to remove the chipset on it and put it on the other one but this didn't worked. I tried a manual reset by pressing "Clear" and "Stop/Exit" buttons at the same time and then the "HC" option and it doesn't work neither.

Can someone help me please with this ?

Hi, any experts on how to resolve this. We have had so much back and forth with the suppliers technical team, I’m just too tired of the cleaning and purging process. Maybe there are other alternative ways around it.

Ps. This is for our single pass printer usign pigment ink. We currently switched the positions to continue operations.

Would you guys recommend this printer? I am homeschooling my children and in need of a new printer. I will be primarily using it to print curriculum information and activity sheets. Fast printing and long lasting ink are priorities. I do need to print pictures but that's not a priority. I got it in my head that I want to print my own graph paper. Initially I was just going to do it for myself, but after talking to some friends that are also interested I'm looking into doing a run of paper and binding it into pads/notebooks myself. I've started looking into printers but there are a lot of options and I could use advice on what I need to be looking for. My biggest concern is print accuracy. The graph pattern is just a dot grid, but the spacing needs to be precise. Ideally, I would be able to print on both sides of the page and have the pattern line up. Is that kind of accuracy measure covered by DPI? Is that something I can tune on a consumer printer? don't really care about colorfastness, I don't need good scanner quality. High capacity would be handy, as would print speed. I'm willing to look at low-end commercial printers, I'm just not sure where to start. I'd appreciate any insight or advice!

I should say I have access to a Brother mfc2700dw. I've been using that a bit but it seems to lack the accuracy I need. Is that something that can be calibrated in?

I was recently given a Brother MFC-J6740DW colour inkjet, and I've spent a good amount of time trying to get it into a workable state; I think I've done all I can but I can't get it printing without significant banding.

Print quality check looks not terrible except some of the black dots are missing (the yellow looks clearer IRL).

I can't get the automatic alignment adjustment to run - when I put the test sheet on the scanner glass, it insists I have it in portrait orientation (I don't) and it has to be in portrait, so I can't get past that point. If I try manual alignment, it asks me what number has the least lines, but for most sections they all look the same.

My complete-amateur assessment is that the print head is DBR or at least beyond my ability. As I'm just a very small business owner who mainly needs to print and scan text docs (and the occasional TTRPG resource on the weekend), I suspect I'm better off just buying a new lower-end machine; am I right?

Just wanted to share some realworld stats from my Canon imagePROGRAF TC20 after about one year of commercial use.

I use it for a small printing business, mostly for large artwork and poster-size prints, so it gets used pretty regularly.

In that year I went through roughly 35 rolls of 24" x 30 m paper, which is about 1,050 linear meters or roughly 640 m² of paper.

The printer itself shows around 462 print jobs. In my case, many of those jobs were long batches, usually around 3 to 4 meters at a time, so the job counter doesn’t really represent individual prints.

After about one year, the original PF-08 printhead failed and I replaced it.

I’m posting this because when I tried to find information about how long a TC-20 printhead actually lasts, most people only mentioned time — like one year or two years — without saying how much they actually printed.

I think numbers like rolls used, linear meters, square meters and print-job count are much more useful.

So if anyone else uses a TC-20 regularly, I’d be interested to know:

How long did your PF-08 printhead last, and roughly how many rolls or square meters did you print before replacing it?

Maybe we can build a better real-world reference for other TC-20 users.
