No estoy hablando de gente de caserío o no, la cafreria no tiene jerarquía social, aquí gusta la cafreria, es lo que vende, gente con carros haciendo un escarceo, dueños de caballos que los ponen a comer en la calle, gente que le pone a las chuma bocinas poniéndole música al pueblo entero, lo peor es que eso es al parecer lo que gusta, la cafreria está “in” en Puerto Rico, no respetan los animales, no respetan los ancianos, a nadie. Me da vergüenza ajena. Los guardias no hacen nada con ellos, ahora ven a una persona decente y ahí si se bajan guapos y portones, pero ven una corrida de fourtrack y no hacen nada, en Florida una vez intentaron hacer una corrida de fourtrack, chumas y todas las motoras de cafres, y la policía del condado mando 70 patrullas, y un helicóptero de la policía. Bloquearon la avenida y todo el mundo para su casa con una multa. (Spoiler, la mayoría de esos policías eran boricuas)Porque aquí no pueden ser igual? Que tiene Puerto Rico que te cafretiza?

Sí, gente, porque cogí una guagua para pagar. Yo tenía un carro, un Tercel, que yo mismo reparé. Mi padre vino desde Chicago. Las cosas no fueron como yo pensaba. Tuvimos una discusión y la verdad es que me fui de ese lugar, pero después regresé para buscar mi auto, pero me lo quitaron. El karma se encargó después y se dañó. Yo estuve desempleado casi 5 meses, después me llamó mi anterior trabajo. Las cosas fueron bien, después tuve que coger el auto, no tenía transporte. Un Kia Soul 2025, eso fue una mala decisión. Cogí más, tengo que pagar renta y el carro. Hoy mismo tomé una decisión: voy a estar ahorrando para comprarme un auto en buen estado. Después de entregar el mío, no podré estar con él. Sí, duele mucho, no tengo opción. 750 $ más que tengo que pagar, más gastos. Mejor ahorrar 5 o 6 meses y comprarme un auto.

Inicia quinta fase de revocación de pasaportes por deudas de pensión alimentaria

Una quinta fase del proceso federal para revocar pasaportes a personas no custodias con deudas de pensión alimentaria de $25,000 o más comenzó este jueves, informó la administradora de la Administración para el Sustento de Menores (ASUME), María del Mar Mateu Meléndez.

Esta etapa representa el umbral más bajo establecido desde que las autoridades federales comenzaron en mayo a ampliar progresivamente el alcance de la iniciativa.

Más de 5,400 personas en Puerto Rico mantienen balances de pensión alimentaria de entre $25,000 y $39,999, según datos de ASUME.

I’ve written a ballad about the Cuesta Vieja derailment that took place on November 7, 1944. The structure of the ballad is based on “Wreck of the Old 97”, a choice I made because that song is about a derailment similar to the Cuesta Vieja crash (both involved passenger trains going at excessive speeds down a grade after loosing their airbrakes). I’ve written the ballad in both English y Espanol. Feedback would very much be appreciated.

English Version:

They gave him his orders in Aguadilla, saying, "Jose, you're needed right now.

Hi everyone. I’m currently in Miramar, Puerto Rico on vacation, and I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve come across a large number of stray/community cats and kittens who are in really bad shape. Many are extremely thin, and there are multiple kittens with severe-looking eye infections and other health problems.
There are SO many babies. It’s heartbreaking to see them suffering and feel like I can’t do enough.

I’m desperately looking for a rescue group, animal organization, foster network, or experienced individuals in Puerto Rico who can help me figure out what to do.
I am willing to foster these cats myself and I’m willing to help get them to the mainland U.S. where I can work on finding them loving homes. I’m also willing to help with the adoption process and take responsibility for fostering them once they’re safely transported.

What I desperately need help with is the in-between:
*Someone who can feed them consistently until they can be rescued
*Help trapping/catching the cats and kittens safely
*Veterinary care and treatment for the sick/injured cats
*A rescue organization that can take them into their program
*Foster homes in Puerto Rico while arrangements are made
*A group or organization that can help arrange transportation/flying the cats to the mainland U.S.
*Advice from anyone who has successfully rescued cats from Puerto Rico and transported them to the States
I know I can’t save every animal by myself, but I really want to try to save as many as I can. I just don’t know where to start, and right now I feel incredibly helpless watching these kittens struggle.

If anyone knows legitimate rescue organizations, fosters, transport groups, TNR groups, veterinarians, or people in the San Juan/Miramar area who could help, PLEASE reach out to me.

I can provide photos, videos, and the general location of the cats to anyone who is genuinely able to help.
Even if you can’t foster or transport them, having someone feed them regularly while we organize a rescue would make a huge difference.

I’m not looking for someone else to do everything for me. I’m willing to put in the work, foster, coordinate, and help financially where I can. I just need someone who knows what they’re doing to help me get started.
These babies deserve a chance. ❤️🐈‍⬛🐈

Buenas, soy un estudiante de nuevo ingreso en la universidad UPRB, me gustaría saber si alguien conoce sobre alguna librería o lugar donde pueda encontrar libros de las materias en físico, se me hacen mas cómodo que en digital y no me gustaría depender de el internet.

Alguien publicó la semana pasada sobre patrullar la playa y limpiar la basura, y me recordó que hacía tiempo que no lo hacía. Caminé 8 kilómetros y saqué 4 bolsas. Aunque es frustrante, me hace sentir útil. Si alguien conoce algún grupo que se dedique a la limpieza, que me avise.
