[HIRING] [REMOTE- US] Senior Python Engineer | $120k+

Hi! I'm Nick - the CTO of MediaViz AI. We build digital media intelligence solutions and novel content perception models that help machines understand and evaluate the relationships between photos, video, and audio at scale.

I'm looking for a senior back end engineer to join our team.

You won't be training models in this role, but you'll have primary responsibility for the environments in which they run and a broader I/O pipeline that ingests a significant quantity of media in extremely bursty jobs with high standards and low fault tolerance. To that end, I'm looking for someone who has personally owned backend systems that other teams and customers relied on.

We're an AWS shop, so you should have deep experience with Lambda (including container-image functions), SQS, S3, API Gateway, RDS Postgres, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, and Terraform (or CloudFormation).

You'll own...

  • Media processing pipeline: from client upload through orchestration of model services, output analysis and aggregation layers, and the delivery of structured results back to the client.
  • Distributed model inference: containerized model services and a queue-driven fan-out that scales under load and contracts at idle.
  • Data layer: Postgres and an OpenSearch + Bedrock stack powering semantic search.
  • Deploys, logging, and reliability across all environments.

I'll provide...

  • A positive environment where you'll be challenged to be better tomorrow than you were yesterday.
  • A mature team of a-players that welcomes you with open arms.
  • Understanding that work and life can not be two separate things existing in competition.
  • A leadership philosophy that demands everyone on the team know what needs to happen, understand why, believe it to be the right thing to be doing, and have everything they need to act.

Send an email with your resume and anything else you think I should know. I love (and have had overwhelmingly positive results) with aspirational hires, but I need substantially demonstrated experience with this one. Expect a prompt response from me even if I don't see a fit, and a quick interview cycle if there's synergy.

Candidates must have the right to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

Rule for bot users and recruiters: to make this sub readable by humans and therefore beneficial for all parties, only one post per day per recruiter is allowed. You have to group all your job offers inside one text post.

Here is an example of what is expected, you can use Markdown to make a table.

Subs where this policy applies: /r/MachineLearningJobs, /r/RemotePython, /r/BigDataJobs, /r/WebDeveloperJobs/, /r/JavascriptJobs, /r/PythonJobs

Recommended format and tags: [Hiring] [ForHire] [FullRemote] [Hybrid] [Flask] [Django] [Numpy]

For fully remote positions, remember /r/RemotePython

Happy Job Hunting.
