I have u/AntoineNara’s Everything Purple TPC to share. I added (surprise) a whale, which looks purple to me…but another friend says it is blue…it’s purple-ISH?

It is I, your favorite waddling card companion, u/PinkPengin (they/them), ably assisted by my constant companion Plush Pink Pengin (she/her), here with yet another offer to try to make a dent in the amount of stuff surrounding us at Pengin HQ.

As I mentioned in multiple past posts, earlier this year I started a subscription to a tiny colorable page-a-day calendar, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Each day features the date and a little image to color based on a "holiday" for that day. I also participate in some swaps related to those wacky holidays on some other carding sites, so I have experience using them as prompts to find a relevant card in my stash, which is always fun.

I have a few remaining August coloring squares and the start of September's calendar, plus relevant cards and sometimes other goodies from my excessive stockpile, and I thought maybe I could find some RAoC members willing to adopt them rather than throwing them out.

For this set, I do need to do US-only, as I am really running low on postage and trying to address some cashflow issues before buying more! But that means you do not need to be flaired as I normally require for my offers, so if you are new to RAoC or just haven't sent any mail yet, and are US-based, then this is your chance!

After some number of years (oh gosh) of not offering cards, I’m going to start offloading what I’ve saved in the mean time.

I have two postcards featuring the children’s book character Eloise that I got from the Plaza Hotel two years ago. I like the author, Kay Thompson! Interesting writer and performer.

TW/CW: cancer / death / complex mother-daughter relationships / mental health / grief

TLDR: My mom passed away from aggressive cancer two months after diagnosis. We had a deeply complicated relationship, and handling her end-of-life care alone has left me pretty hollowed out. I’m hoping for a little written encouragement while I navigate this rollercoaster of loneliness and grief.

On a milestone birthday, I found out my mom had a brutally aggressive form of bladder cancer.

Two weeks from diagnosis, it spread to 16 new places.

Four weeks from diagnosis, they stopped tracking metastasization & transitioned her to palliative care.

Eight weeks and a day from diagnosis, my mom was gone.

When she got sick, I carried the entire weight of her care, hospice, passing, and post-mortem affairs on my own.

(Much love to my partner for helping me as much as they could, but the majority of everything was on me.)

I do want to share the precious gift my mom gave me in her final hours, her last words to me were, "love you too."

That moment feels so delicately fragile in my mind...

Mourning a mother who was so damn hard to love, is a profoundly lonely road.

So I could really use some tangible words of love right now - Any words of solidarity, even just the smallest note, I could really use a little light right now.
