Thanks. I don’t have a buffing wheel, so I’ve been hand polishing them with Mothers. Don’t have experience polishing, but is there a better product that would help the process move faster?

Mothers is the best I’ve found.

Faster and polishing does not mix well. You can get it done faster but its easy to damage your gun with wheels.

Hand polishing with mothers is the best way. Its slow but thats part of the fun. Thats how I do all of my stainless handguns. Se people start with wet sandpaper but I never have. I just use a cut up white tshirt with the polish.

Thats the last one I did.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll keep going with Mothers🤙🏼 you did a great job on your GP100. It looks so even.. I’m having a hard time getting to to look that smooth.

It just takes time and elbow grease.

The pictured gp100 has about 10 hours of polishing time on it.

Thanks. I got lucky on some of these, so I’m happy. Been trying to get a 66 no dash or dash-1. They’re so expensive, but I’m still trying. 🤙🏼

Sheesh those are freaking awesome man. I want a mirror polished snubby, one that’s a bit heavy. A tank but sexy. Any recos?

Still haven’t gotten them where I want. It’s been a slow process, but Mothers is getting me there. 🤙🏼

Why I don’t have a 3” 686 almost mystifies me.

After the model 66, the 686 snub is my second favorite. Feels great in your hand.

The 66 is just the best.

So do you actually shoot that 629? I have one and never shoot it because it's so unpleasant to shoot. I've shot longer barreled .44 mags and had no issues but this is just rough.

I got it for bear defense when hunting, so it's not a "fun gun" for me.

I’m a chef and suffer from terrible carpal tunnel, in both hands. So my hands are regularly somewhat numb, so the recoil isn’t that painful. The issue with me is that I can’t hold onto the grip when shooting 44 mag. I’ll,shoot a few rounds of 44 mag and that’s it. It’s not a fun gun to shoot, but once in a while, I like to feel the power of the 44 mag.

I've heard that some of the "cowboy" .44 special semi-wadcutter rounds are softer shooting, so I may try those out to get more time on it.

I picked up a boat load of 44:special when it was on sale and that’s fine to shoot. I pick the 629 snub, when I wanna feel a wallup and see a big fireball. LOL. I have other choices when I want to enjoy shooting.

Should put another pic up with all of em. What a nice set. One day i too shall have a collection but mine might not be all smiths. I have a 3” 686-6 deluxe. Amazing gun. Need to upgrade my grips though.
