QUESTION How is Prime Video? Dallas fan here, just learned we're most likely moving to Prime next season.

As the title says, our regional sports network Victory+ is going tits up, and it looks like Prime is our destination. I understand y'all have been there for a while, and I wonder how you like it? I would say Victory+ was worth the price (free). Upgrade or downgrade?

Thanks, go hockey

EDIT: Thank you all for the info. I like what I'm hearing!

Anyone know if the song “Release the kraken!!!” By Glum Aleks has been used for the Krakens intro yet? Seems a perfect fit for the team. Bring on the 1st October!

QUESTION Going to the game for the first time!

I’m coming up to Oregon in late October for my first trip up to the Pacific Northwest to visit a great friend of mine that I haven’t seen in a few years. On the weekend, we’re going to venture into Seattle to hit the record shops and check out the city. That Saturday we’re going to go to the game against the Wild. Tickets are pretty expensive on Ticketmaster and so I was curious, should I grab my tickets now as I was looking at something in the second level behind the net or is there a good chance that prices will drop the day of the game and I can score something then (resale)? It always seems to happen that I buy my tickets for things way in advance and then find cheaper options the day of. I know every market is different so if anybody has any advice, please let me know. also, if anybody has any advice on places to eat before the game or things to do in the city, I’d like to hear it. Cannot wait to see your great city!

QUESTION Why do people poop on climate pledge arenas location?

I’m a Bay Area native (Sharks fan) who travels to Bellevue often for work, and this past week I got to drive around Seattle a bit more than usual.

I’ve always found the PNW beautiful, so when I hear players or rumors on podcasts about guys not wanting to come to the Kraken, including one rumor that the arena is in a “dump,” I have a hard time believing it. Then again, I don’t actually live there. I just drove past a lot of lush trees and construction.

So my question for people who actually know the area: is the neighborhood around Climate Pledge Arena/Seattle Center genuinely bad? Or is that reputation overstated?

QUESTION Quick Game/Trip

Hi Everyone I have question regarding a game but more in particular CPA and airport. I'll be in Seattle for work and my flight home leaves at 9:08 PM PST and i see the Kraken have a game that day at 5PM. I'm sure i'd have to leave the game early but i was thinking of stopping by to check out CPA and a Kraken game while in town and killing time. Is this doable? I'd imagine id probably have to take an Uber instead of the monorail and light rail for time purposes to get to the air port faster. How much can i realistically watch? 2 periods? Do you think its worth a quick trip or just kill time around Seattle elsewhere?

Thanks all!

If we’re just gonna hover in mediocrity can we at least get the Polyrhythmics back and throw in Red Alert for good measure.

PROSPECT/DRAFT Kim Saarinen returning to Finland for '26-'27 season.

Curtis from SoH posted this a couple days ago, but I just saw it.

Kim Saarinen is returning to Liiga this season, starting for HPK. Not enough playing time is available in the AHL for him, so he'll spend one more year in Finland before making the leap full time to the US.

"The intention is to go to North America next season. This year will still be here. I will get [more] games and be able to develop more. I do feel that I would have been quite ready for North America myself. However, the game load here will probably be greater, so it was better to stay here and play more."

ANALYSIS Kraken Best/Worst vs Other Teams

Post image
15 Upvotes

I've been following the posts on r/hockey showing the best and worst players against the various teams. Now that all 32 teams are accounted for, I've aggregated all the Kraken players from those best/worst lists.

A few notes:

  • Ice blue is "best".
  • Red alert is "worst".
  • Position ranking is shown on top (C1 - Best/worst center, G2 - 2nd best/worst goalie, etc.).
  • Game score is listed below.
  • HM is honorable mention (no game score listed on the source tables).

For the missing teams (Carolina, Pittsburgh, Washington, Detroit, Nashville, New Jersey, Rangers, and Toronto), no Kraken player appeared on their best/worst list.

The scores are cumulative over the course of the season, so the Western Conference is disproportionately represented. Also note that McMann's score against Florida includes his time in Toronto.

And for reference, this post has the best/worst against the Kraken.

It’s national dog day, so show me your dogs! And cats, guinea pigs, and possibly even horses. All critters who are Kraken fans!

It’s also the seventh anniversary of Goblin’s adoption, so we simply must celebrate. He’s missing hockey so much he’s starting to rip apart his beloved hockey stick since he won’t stop squeaking it

I didn't see this shared. It's a solid, reasonable run down on the team for the upcoming season.
