I really want a third one to be made, but that probably isn't happening

The goal of this rom hack was to make the driving sections in Batman returns more fun. While it was praised for its visuals when it released , the driving sections were flagged for being punishingly difficult. So I looked through the source code that has thankfully been posted by one of the programmers Chris Shrigley https://shrigley.com/source_code_archive/

So I have added two patches. if you have the US bin cue of the disc, you can patch it using this tool https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/

The easy mode patch focuses on two things

1. Stage clock: slowed to roughly half its original rate (was ticking down once every 20 frames, now every 40) - close to double the effective time on every level.

2. Damage taken by the player (car and jet-ski both): roughly halved. Only the damage you take was changed.

I feel like this is the most fun to play it, although if you want the ultra easy mode, I have split it again by half.

How to patch, Grab your Batman Returns (USA) (Track 01).bin and the patch file. you can use the rom patcher I linked above. or there are ones on romhacking.net

It will download as Batman Returns (USA) (Track 01) (patched).bin just rename it to Batman Returns (USA) (Track 01).bin and put it with the other tracks and the cue file, then it is ready to be emulated or burnt off to play on real hardware.

I'm sure it's possible, but does anyone know if Sierra (Dynamix?) ever had any other games planned for the SegaCD, such as Police Quest? One of my fav games growing up, but I didn't own a PC until later so I never got to play it at home. I wonder if anyone ever tried to port it (or could) after the fact?

It turns out there were easter eggs in the game that have never been discovered for the last 33 years.

On level 5. if the score is exactly 500 points, you have to follow the following button presses to unlock the secret messages

Ninespike25 here. Had to make a new account. Anyways I was repairing a JVC drive Sega CD model 1 that didn’t have power. I changed the fuse, but still no power. C22 was completely blown off. C23 was also shorted. Turns out some asshat thought it was a good idea to use an NES power supply which is AC on system that runs DC. After some troubleshooting I found the issue. The choke was blown. I had to repair a trace, then replace C22 and the choke which fixed the issue. This system will be for sale soon

Hey everyone, I'm in need of a replacement spindle hub that the disc sits on in my cdx, mine is cracked and one of the bearings popped out. Does anyone know where I can source one?

So about a week ago i finally got my Mega Drive back and was finally able to play on my Mega CD!

And it was (and still is) great! :D

The laser works perfectly, reads fast and doesn't make any noises

And I have been really enjoying the my 2 games (and road avenger, which I burned myself)

However i have some questions about the save battery

Ever since i got this thing i had trouble saving beacuse after i turned off my system less than an hour later all my save data would get deleted

I am pretty sure it's just depleted but every time I try to charge it just dies again shortly after (like an hour after 4 hours of just leaving my Mega CD on)

Any help or information with this would be appreciated

Ps. I found this recipt in the box and didn't really think much of it first until I saw it was from 1993

I think it was for the mega CD, but the prices don't seem to match, but either way cool find!

I had to trade a bunch of games that were gathering dust, but it was worth it.

I have a Sega Genesis model 2 and Sega cd model 2. I posted before about power supply and bought one, when trying it out it doesn’t work. I tinkered a bit, did some blowing and got it to flicker on a bit - but still not consistent

So I have the right power supply but I’m wondering if there is troubleshooting I can do? Looking for suggestions to fix power issues, thanks!

Got this along with a stack of Genesis games the other day. Don’t have a CD but I do have a Genesis so was looking to either sell or trade for an equally clean CIB copy of Jurassic Park for Genesis. Delete if not allowed

So I recently got a Sega cd model 2 (came with a Sega genesis model 1 as well. It came with two power supplies. Both are Sega model 1602. Both are 120v/9v/1.2 amps. But one says 17 watts and the other says 18 watts. Which (if any) can I use with the Sega cd? I’ve heard Sega cd are tricky and will blow fuses if you use the wrong one. Any help would be appreciated. I’m also wondering what the “mixing” port is for on the back of the Sega cd. And if I can play Sega cd with just RF out from the genesis. Thanks!

I got a Sega CD, the second version that has the CD part on the side. I have no cords tho, what are all the cords I need to use iwth my Sega Genesis (also version 2), including power, tv? audio etc.

I bought this Sega CD from a "for parts" listing off of eBay, hoping I would be able to replace the capacitors and do some other repairs (i.e. battery replacement) and get it working. To my surprise, not only does this appear to be a Sega CD unit with a JVC transport, but it also appears to have been modded by someone else previously. At least, I think that's what I'm looking at, right? Doe anyone here recognize this mod and can help me identify what the mod is/does?

Also, this unit will already power on, boot into the main BIOS menu, and eject and retract the disc tray. It just won't read discs. My initial plan was to replace the capacitors and see if that was enough to get it fully working, and then go from there. But now I'm wondering if I'm dealing with something more involved?

For additional context, it doesn't appear that the other boards in the console have been touched. I don't think whoever worked on it before even replaced the original capacitors. It even still has the original stock Sanyo ML2016 battery. Personally, I find it very curious that someone would go to the trouble of modding the disc drive only, and not also mod in, say, a region-free BIOS or an FRAM chip, for example.
