Launcher Optimization

Quick question, but does the launcher optimization linear technology apply strictly to guided missile launchers, or also to the more primitive rocket trucks? Payload optimization mentions in its description that it improves both missiles and rockets, but this technology doesn't.

page 370 of the manual says it improves rocket launchers, missile launchers, and ICBMs. If you have a model of a unit you are wondering about tech effects (even ones not invented), you can select the model in the model management screen, and then click over on 'techs' in the far right and see what techs effect it, including linear techs. Doesnt show not applied non-linear techs there though if i recall.

we can see both payload optimization and launcher optimization apply to rocket trucks.

That's brilliant, thank you!! I'm still not entirely convinced that the user interface of this game wasn't conceived in a drunken stupor, but now I know where to look, at least! 👍

It is functionally a feature crept excel spreadsheet. Ive been playing since it first went up on matrix/slytherin and the dev just continually added new tabs/rows to whatever area seemed most relevant at the time as the game continued to be iterated on. While you are scoping out designing units, i reccomend the blueprint feature. It is also in the management tab, it lets you create blueprint designs trying out all the tech/models you have unlocked to plan your builds (giving you averaged rolls for there stats, it basically only lets you play with the actual model design choices)

its pretty useful for getting an idea of the range of unit capabilities, and spotting gfx changes that different design choices can cause for better at-a-glance recognition and stuff like that without having to click a squillion times in the model design UI.
