I've been into golf games recently, and stuff like everybodys golf is cool and all, but super battle golf just seems really fun.

Instead of just taking shots one after the other with basically fully automated aiming and club picking and stuff (at low skill level like me anyway), just running around freely in a open area and actually going up to the ball yourself and then swinging the club and aiming yourself without the game doing anything for you seems so fun.

I don't have any friends that would play the game with me but I also don't wanna play with random people so, is there any game like super battle golf with its free roam thats good solo?

38 year old dad here and I have entered my retirement gaming era. I’m really enjoying leaning back with a controller and casually playing through some of the top games of the last 5 years or so.

So far I’ve really enjoyed horizon zero dawn and cyberpunk. I’m planning to play Witcher 3 when the remaster drops late September but need something to carry through until then. What other canon games of the 2020s should I dig into?

I really enjoyed the combat in both hzd and cyberpunk. World and combat would be my priorities.

After becoming a dad I've been having major issues with getting attached to a new rpg experience. The first 2-3 hours are crucial to locking me in.

The last game that I played that did that was EP33 and honestly I felt empty after finishing it.

Games that I've played that I've loved in the past where I've put hundreds of hours into them: Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4. AC Odyssey(absolutely loved this game), Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, elden ring and all the dark souls trilogy. The Mass effect trilogy. Most FF games and other japanese RPGs. Mostly all Zelda games. I've also put in major into diablo2 and POE2 but I'm not looking for an ARPG currently.

Games that I've put hours into but something hasn't stuck
RDR2, AC Valhalla, the KCD games(I'm trying but it's been hard to adapt for). The Hogwarts game. Crimson Desert.(I don't feel like I've had the time to actually dig into this game properly), Persona games. BG3 and divinity gamsz(I've played a lot of hours into BG3 but at a certain point I put it down and Everytime I try it again I just don't feel like slogging through it)

Overall I really want something that has depth like
The games that I've played and loved, that can I can stop and start again at a moment's notice and who's story can just suck me in. I know this is a hard ask but give me those suggestions!!

EDIT: Thank you all for the suggestions!! I've gone ahead and pre-ordered Blood of the Dawnwalker. That looks right up my ally! I'm also going to give the KCD games a fighting chance as well before the remaster of Witcher 3 comes out at the end of the month!

Keep posting suggestions! I'm sure I'm one of many who are in a similar funk with gaming while being a new dad or just in general. Sometimes life gets in the way or you have squirrel disease(ADHD) like me and iit takes you three to five tried with a game before you get into it and then find out that that game would turn out to be amazing!

Hi everyone! I’m currently stuck on a dilemma and would love to hear what you guys would do in my situation.
I recently moved in with my girlfriend, and we both own an Xbox Series X. The thing is, she barely uses hers, so having two Xboxes feels pretty redundant. I’m considering selling mine and putting the money towards another gaming device.
For some context, my current setup is:
Gaming PC with an RTX 5070 — my main gaming platform by far
Steam Deck OLED
Xbox Series X
Gaming laptop with an RTX 3050 Ti
My girlfriend also has an Xbox Series X, which she barely uses
So I’m basically deciding between three options:
1. 1440p OLED monitor
I currently use a decent 1080p IPS monitor. It does the job, but with an RTX 5070 I feel like I’m leaving a lot on the table. A good 1440p OLED would be a pretty significant upgrade and would improve the experience of the platform I use the most.
2. PS5
I was a huge PlayStation kid growing up. I had a PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4, but switched to Xbox this generation. Eventually I ended up moving almost entirely to PC gaming and nowadays only use the xbox for 2 minor games.
I’ve been tempted to get back into the PlayStation ecosystem, especially with wolverine coming out soon. (Would be buying the limited wolverine ps5 edition) and as a huge Marvel fan, that’s definitely tempting.

3. Switch 2
This is probably the least interesting option for me.I already have a Steam Deck OLED, and never had any interest in nintendo games.

So what would you guys do? Upgrade your existing ecosystem or buy a new one to have more access to a expanded library of games

Recently picked up the MGS Master Collection Vol. 2 on Switch 2. Wondering which I should play first.

I’ve played MGS 1, 2, 3, and some of 5.

Is there a recommended order which to play first - Peace Walker or 4? Does it not matter? MGS fans let me know what you think!

As far as I understand PW is a precursor to 5, but is more optimized for handheld play.

I heard that all of this game is just "random things happening simulator" but I don't know what should I buy. I mean I mostly know what about every of this game is. Rimworld is colony simulator. Dwarf Fortress too but also have adventure mode. cataclysm: dark days ahead is project zomboid but you can do more things. I have the most hours in metal gear solid 5 phantom pain and project zomboid

I’m thinking about buying a new video game. The new 007 First Light looks quite Good. What did you think of it? Could you give me some details on the pros and cons?

A second piece of advice, please 🙏🙏: I have an Xbox Series X and a PS5 (disc version) with a PS Portal. Which console should I buy it for? And should I get the disc or the digital version? I’d just like to add that I’m more of an Xbox fan than a PS5 fan.

Mistfall is a bit more known while Crimson Moon just came out. Anyone that knows both and has a recommendation for which game to get? Crimson Moon is basically a roguelike soulslike while Mistfall is an extraction soulslike, although I would mostly play Mistfall with a PvE focus and wondering if that’s still a good enough way to play the game.

I’m looking for a single-player role-playing game with truly high replay value. I enjoy trying out completely different character build options, making decisions that actually affect the outcome of the story, and immersing myself in the game world. I’ve already played through *The Witcher 3* and *New Vegas* several times. I’m looking for a new PC game that I can put more than 50 hours into without getting bored halfway through. Tell me about your favorite games.

Wont ask which one is "better". It's a ongoing debate that will never end so I wont touch that. Rather which one lately have you found you been enjoying more of. Did playing Oblivion Remastered make you love it and stick with it? Did it make you go "man now I want to play Skyrim" and go back to that? Just trying to figure which one in the long run are people pulled to. I've played both and both sound great to get on my PS5 console.

Which one should I buy this month? Right now I'm leaning towards the Lego Batman legacy of the dark knight for the switch 2. I am in the middle of playing Arkham Knight for the second time. It does not look as good on switch as it does on PS5 so I am ready for a new story and the comedy that comes with Lego games. The rest of the games are on my PS5. Assassin's creed is still getting updates so I'm holding off on that until the game is fully done, crossing fingers for hidden blade combat. The Wolverine seems top tier. I am a big Star Wars fan but not that big of an xcom fan. Lego DC villains is great I've almost %100 it so I'm ready for the next installation. What do you guys think? Thanks.

My dad bought a PS5 a couple of years ago after almost a decade not gaming.

He used to play Call of Duty and Medal of Honor back in the PS2/PS3 days, and eventually just kind of stopped.

Since he’s had his PS5, he’s been complaining non-stop about the games. All he wants to play are games from the distant past that they just don’t really make anymore.

I want to get him some games he might like, but his list of requirements is just beyond me, and it’s a genre I don’t know well at all.

- He’s very gameplay illiterate. He likes Call of Duty campaigns because it’s essentially just running along a set path shooting people.
- He can’t play open world games at all. I bought him Far Cry 5, and he gets lost and rage quits as soon as the linear intro ends and the world opens up.
- He has no patience. Zero tolerance for cutscenes, for waiting around while characters have a conversation, etc. Although he does enjoy stealth games.
- He likes almost exclusively WW1 and 2-themed games. He’s fine with modern warfare, but completely closed off to anything fantasy, sci-fi, pre-guns era, etc.
- He doesn’t have online and doesn’t want it. He doesn’t want to play with/against other players.
- I can’t stress that enough: he’s really bad at games. He doesn’t read, doesn’t remember more than 3 buttons, etc.

Games he played and liked:
- All Call of Duty campaigns available on the PS5.
- Sniper Elite 4, 5 and Resistance

Games he tried and hated:
- Last of Us (too many cutscenes)
- Far Cry 5 (confusing, didn’t know what to do)
- Ghost Recon Breakpoint (same as Far Cry)
- GTA V (same as Far Cry + wasn’t confortable with the theme)

He was looking at Battlefield 6, but it seems like that game is mostly online, and has very little offline content.

Hopefully someone can help me from something he would like…

cyberpunk is one of the coolest games i have ever played and i have no clue what to play next. i loved the setting, the characters, the build variety with all the cyberware, and it had one of the best stories of any game ive ever played. i have no clue what to play next. some other games i loved are rdr2 and expedition 33. i need something good i can drop another 500 hours into lol

It seems like the perfect game for me. I love first person, I love realistic settings (graphically) and I love being able to choose my own dialogue all of which this has. But looking into the lore it’s so deep and confusing and I feel like I will be completely lost. Was this made for new players in mind because the originals came out so long ago? Or is it treated as if the previous ones have just happened and you should have played them.

If I need prior knowledge is there a good video to watch or is it better to learn as I go?

For some reason a lot of open world game has car chase ai that lose the player way too quickly, and it’s something that bugs the shit out of me. The gta series is an obvious exception, and while idk if this counts as open world or not, need for speed most wanted has some good chases. What others would you recommend?

Ive been itching for a new JRPG for quite a while now, between my favorite ones are Persona 4 and 5, Yakuza 0 and Like a dragon Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 and Ni no Kuni. I love a good turn focused game unfortunately Shin Megani Tensei setting really turns me off, i love high fantasy and medieval settings, im currently going through Elden ring and im looking for another game to spend my time on. Im quite aware of Metaphor Persona like qualities and i dont mind at all.

Dragon quest would be my first and ill be going in totally blind, i enjoy side activities and side quests that actually add to the game and not simply assassins creed like fetch quests that feel bland and soulless, i also value a good story and a good gameplay loop.

I am also a big fan of tomb raider and uncharted. I'm not into long games too much tho i did like god of war and the batman arkham games. I am a 20-year-old girl and gamer but I know almost nothing about consoles. Also english is not my first language so I apologise if I write anything oddly or explain poorly.

I really want to buy the new GTA6 game that's coming out but I do not have a console for it. I usually play on pc so if I'm able to connect mouse and keyboard to the console and use that for GTA6 that would be a huge bonus!

I'm not that well-versed in consoles as previously stated, except that I have a family-console that's a ps4 however we almost never use it as I haven't found any game that I'm interested in spending my money on.

I would like to be able to wait for GTA6 to come on pc but according to my friend that could take 1-2 years and by then I would most likely be spoiled the entire story as well needing to buy a new pc for it anyways!

I have heard many bad things recently about Playstation and the treatment of it's customers so if xbox is better in that way then that matters a lot to me however I am not sure if what I have seen is true.

A bit of context: I'm already familiar with this VN as I played a pair of routes of the original on my Vita (nostalgia!), but I never actually finished all of them. I remember liking what I saw, but I felt like it was a bit of a chore to see all routes and endings so I stopped playing at some point.

But now I feel like I'm in the mood for it (and I have been avoiding spoilers like a pro) and when I read they were remaking it, I might be one of the few people who were excited for it as I could start over with a potentially more refined version. That was until I learnt MAGES were using the Elite script which is based on the anime and it's shorter.

It's a pity because I really like the new art more, it seems better to me overall, especially in the anatomy department. But I feel like instead of giving us the definitive version with new content for the cherry on top, MAGES just rereleased a different version that is between the original and elite without satisfying anyone. And I had read about audio issues on Steam Deck?

That's why I'm torn about buying it as I think the reboot art is truly an upgrade or just wait for a sale for the original (I missed the last one, damn it) and play that one from scratch instead.

I don’t care if the community is friendly or toxic—I just want real, honest answers on longevity:

Will official servers, matchmaking, and player counts stay active enough, or is the player base going to drop off before a new player can even build up businesses and reach the fun endgame heists/content?

With GTA 6 coming, how much actual lifespan does GTA Online on PC have left?

Is sinking my savings into this game right now a complete waste of time and money?

I saw some initial reviews and it looked interesting.

I play a wide array of games- Witcher 3, CoD, Elden Ring, cyberpunk, E33, etc to name a few

based on limited gameplay (wanted to make sure I didn’t get spoiled), it seems to share elements with Total War strategy alongside Baldur Gate 3 (games I’ve heavily enjoyed).

So I think I’m leaning towards getting it BUT I’m wondering this game worth it right now? Wait for a sale?

I still have God of War 2018 in my Steam library I have not gotten around to yet but I’m a big Star wars fan so appreciate any inputs.

So all the GTA VI hype is getting to me, the thing is I've never really played a GTA game before. I've dicked around San Andreas back in the day at my friends house, my cousin had GTA V back in the day and we would take turns just playing the open world but I've never really gone through the whole thing. The whole open world aspect and the liberty that the game gives you doesn't really appeal all that much, I prefer story over all and I've read a lot of people online say that they have great stories. The only other Rockstar game I've played is Red dead redemption 2 which I really liked. Honestly I'm kinda sick of games that have a ton of markers on a map and just have you going places and doing the same thing hundreds of times.
