The cost of war

You start with a crew of several dozen submariners, onboard Sub 227. As the days pass by, one by one, their are disappearing. Being killed in action, lost at sea, executed for treason. And some of them are rather pleasant fellas. That's the cost of war, at least part of it.

Pixel art (well, some kind of, my own dirty style), narrative adventure, puzzle solving, document handling. Being an encryption officer in a totalitarian regime, solving the mystery aboard Sub 227

We took inspiration from classic top-down arcade shooters and brought them into 3D with roguelite elements

We’ve been sharing WingWhiz’s development on this subreddit for a while, and the game has changed quite a bit since our earlier posts.

For those seeing it for the first time, WingWhiz is a 3D roguelite inspired by classic arcade shoot ’em ups, where each run lets you experiment with different upgrades and build your way toward becoming more powerful.

Since our earlier posts, we’ve made major improvements to both the core gameplay and the progression systems, so we wanted to share our new gameplay trailer and give you a better look at where the game is now.

We’d love to hear what you think of the direction we’re taking. Any questions, criticism, or feedback about the game are more than welcome.

I made a zombie game where fighting the horde head-on is a bad idea

Hi! I'm a solo developer and I've just announced Respect the Horde, a top-down extraction shooter / tower defense I've been working on.

The idea is simple: you're heavily outnumbered, but zombies are predictable.

Instead of fighting hundreds of them head-on, you build obstacles to shape their path, create bottlenecks and lure them into barbed wire, fire and deadly traps.

The more zombies you kill, the greater the rewards — but the horde also becomes increasingly dangerous. Once you've completed your objective, you have to decide whether to extract with what you've earned or stay for one more wave.

You're outnumbered. Outsmart them.

I released the announcement trailer today and the Steam page is now live:

First look inside the starship! Working on another sci-fi aspect of Stillsun Ark, what do you all think of the dialogue prompt?

Before the shipwreck, you'll be "peacefully" roaming through space on the crew's ship: S.S.Hercules.

We're testing out the dialogue prompt for the game. We'll appreciate your feedback on it, and on the whole scene of course.

This time, I'll share the steam link. If you like the game's look, wishlist on steam

Eat, run, jump, push boxes and switch the rules in this scrumptiously adorable puzzle platformer!

The game is about this little cat-shaped thing called Scrunglo and its unending gluttony. In order to saciate its hunger you'll have to travel across multiple dimensions to find The Fruit.

We've been working on this game after hours for more than 2 years now and would love it if you checked out our Steam page and maybe wishlisted it if you like it:

You’re stationed alone at a remote radio observatory around Ganymede, monitoring deep space for faint signals and comparing what you find with a second operator stationed around Callisto. As the shifts pass, the signals start getting harder to explain.

If it looks like your kind of thing, the Steam page is here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5158290/Closer_Than_Stars/

I'm making a game about skipping stones

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just released the demo of my game RippleLoop. It's an incremental cozy game about skipping stones. You throw a stone and try to make it travel as far as possible, then use the distance you've gained to unlock upgrades and new powers.

As you progress, you'll discover new ways to control and interact with your stones, allowing you to reach increasingly distant places and explore new landscapes.

It's my first commercial game ever, so I'd love to hear what you think!

The demo is available on Steam if you want to give it a try: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4758450/RippleLoop_Demo/?utm_source=reddit&utm_content=indiegaming1

Working on a game with a ton of puppets in it, here are our two newest, this time finger puppets. Not totally happy with the texture yet, but it'll do for now.

We still need to name these two, they'll have a kinda Statler and Waldorf vibe. Anyone got any got any good suggestions?

We interviewed our main character for the trailer of our cooking & restaurant management game!

Hi! I'm MaxCJ, and wanted to do something different for the trailer of our second game, Caps & Spoons - so we decided to interview our main character about what one can expect!

It's a cooking and restaurant management game where you decorate your foodery, discover and unlock new recipes and ways to cook.

Upgrades and advertisements for your shop are available from the computer; the radio has daily shows where one can learn new recipes (among other things) and the calendar shows upcoming events and happenings.

Set in the same universe as our first game, Fungerellia is a sporepunk fantasy world, where steampunk meets mushrooms in a whimsical way!

Our platformer uses color as a core mechanic, so we added shape icons to make it readable without color

We’re working on Quantum Quartz, a 2D steampunk pixel art precision platformer where you switch colored platforms on/off to create paths and avoid hazards like lasers, missiles and such.

Since recognizing those colors quickly matters a lot during gameplay, we added a unique gemstone shape as an accesibility setting to each color instead of relying on color alone.

The icons can also be resized, repositioned and have their opacity changed.

Would this feel clear enough to you during actual gameplay? Are any colorblind people out there who can tell me if this is something that would actually imporve their experience?
