Gear 50mm 1.4 GM: right side out of focus?

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I recently got a 50mm 1.4 GM and took it out on a walk this morning, and looking at the photos I noticed that the right side of the image was blurry? It didn’t look like bokeh but more of a smudge, I shot these at 1.4 and the left side of the image looked sharp.

Once I stopped down to 5.6 it got better, but am wondering if this is a lens issue or should I step down to 5.6 for these shots? Thanks!

Gear thinking of upgrading my lens, was thinking 200-600mm, suggestions?

hi everyone! i am about 2 years into wildlife photography and i am thinking of upgrading my lens! i currently shoot on the sony a7iv with a sigma 100-400mm f5-6.3 lens. i have been thinking of upgrading to the sony 200-600mm for a while. i specialize in owls and shoot in the PNW so lowlight is inevitable but i have been managing fine so far with what i got! i have seen some concerns about detail using the 200-600 and honestly detail is my fav part about my shots! i love being able to see all the tiny details and feathers! obviously with birds and especially owls you cant get too close so i had wanted that extra length. anyways, is this a good choice? can i get good detail? do you have any other suggestions? thanks!

these are some of my shots on my current rig, yes i am getting good stuff that i am super happy with but i would like to get consistently better shots with more ease. the shot at the end of the NOPO is not as detailed as i would like even in superb lighting because he is tiny and far.

Following up on the backpack and gear found previously: after turning the items in to the local police department and contact Sony with the registered the serial numbers, notifying them where the gears are. The police department has contacted me to initiate the standard legal claim process for unclaimed property, and I will be collecting the items tomorrow.

Critters Appreciation for this Sub and the 70-200 F4 G II Macro Lens

I posted a few weeks ago debating a lens to get and was so happy with this sub’s recommendations and engagement!

I ended up going with a used, like new 70-200 G II Macro lens and a 1.4x teleconverter and wow has the lens basically been glued to my camera ever since. The versatility is insane!

Hope y’all enjoy my early attempts at macro and some evening sparrow pictures from around my neighborhood, I can’t wait to see what else this combo can do!

All pics shot on the A7V and edited in Lightroom mobile.

Hey,

I've been taking RAW photos for 3 ISH years since getting my a7iv, I've only just got a Adobe licence and started using lightroom. This was from my friends wedding but would like some feedback (first time doing this) on the actual photo but also the editing too. I was playing with colours and also B&W

I've got pics from 3 years worth of travelling the world so would like to know from talented strangers on Reddit how I'm doing so far.

Some were shot on a 35mm GM and a 90mm Sony (my fav lens idk why)

Thanks for any help

I just bought an a6300 bundle recently to try photography with a dedicated camera. And I was very pleased with what this kitlens already had to offer! Please share your thoughts and tips on what I can try to get the most out of this camera!
