How often do you attend networking events?
Are you still finding value in them?

Affordable Wheelchair Programs
Hey ya'll! My friend broke her leg this past weekend and unfortunately since we're uninsured and low income, it has been incredibly hard finding a plus-size wheelchair that we can afford for her. I've been searching around for programs in the South Florida area and there isn't really much that has wheelchairs available. Anyone have any luck finding free or super low cost wheelchairs in South Florida? I'm at a point where I'm calling places in West Palm and Stuart but they don't like to offer their programs to people outside of their location. :(

Fresh coconut water!
Hi! What’s the cheapest place you’ve found to buy fresh coconut water? I’m talking drinking it straight from the coconut! 🥥🌴
Would love something in/around Sunrise or Weston! So far, I’ve found Patel Brothers $4/coconut to be the best price that I’ve seen, but curious if anyone’s found any better! TIA, Reddit community!

Florida bucket list before we move
Help me create a Florida bucket list for me and my 12 year old son before we move to Colorado next summer. We have done so many beaches so not interested in that unless it is like the best one ever! 🤣 this is what I have so far.

Looking to start/join a mixed beginner rec hockey league (Broward)
Just as the title says. I skate really well, and it’s mostly my stick-handling that needs work. I am FTM and mainly looking for queer-accepting groups. Alternatively, would love to start a team for everyone who otherwise feels ostracized from older male-dominated teams. Really down to go to any rink in the Broward area, Boca, or up in Lake Worth.

Good endocrinologist in the area?
Anyone have an endocrinologist they really like in Boca or Coral Springs? Looking specifically for someone good with thyroid issues.
Bonus if you’re military/retired military and have experience using TRICARE with them.

FTL: Hit by a car on your bike? Cops shrugged? Me too, and I’m going to complain about it.
TL;DR: I want to start going to city commissioner meetings in order to help protect bikers and pedestrians in Fort Lauderdale. If you've been hit by a car while riding your bike, please let me know:
short blurb of what happened - the date - the SPECIFIC neighborhood/road - what the police did about it
(Ex: hit and run while riding home from gym on sidewalk - 8/24/26 - US-1 and Sunrise - told me to stop riding my bike)
So I can bring it up during the next city commission meeting. We don't deserve to get seriously injured, if not worse, just because we weren't driving.
-
I was riding my bike on the sidewalk from the gym when this Honda SUV was pulling out of a parking lot of a high-rise. As I was crossing in front of her, the Honda clipped my leg and my back wheel and then fled the scene. In addition to that, I would hit the lights to cross and the lights wouldn't work or took a very long time to turn green. I was making a conscious effort to NOT get hit by a car: just to get hit anyways.
I called the non-emergency line and a public safety aide came out to tell me, "Don't ride your bike here. They'll hit you, they'll leave you there, and then lie to our faces and say they didn't see you." She then proceeded to tell me numerous other stories of people correctly using the crosswalks, waiting to cross at stoplights, only for them to seriously injured or worse by motorists who aren't paying attention.
There's virtually no downside to bikes/pedestrians having more protections. It decongests traffic, it's better for the environment, and the more people see others walking, the more we'll all decide to not get in a car.
I posted this to my story and I had a few friends tell me the same thing happened to them, and that's why they don't ride their bikes anymore (one of them got hit TWICE). Not even through the residential neighborhoods. Biking was a big part of how I got around where I'm from. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same loss that I do, looking at my bike sit unused, with police who are too inundated with more pressing calls to give us the attention we deserve.
This is what I would be proposing:
• Medians between the road and the bike lanes
• Streetlights for bikes
• NON-ALPR cameras on said streetlights to mitigate hit-and-runs
If you don't agree with 1 or 2 of these things, let me know and I'll amend my proposal. This isn't just for me, after all.
I love you, Fort Lauderdale. It's an injustice that that person could've killed me, got away with it, and the cop literally goes "Well, Welcome to Florida!" This is inexcusable. I don't care where I am. We deserve better and I am willing to fight for it, I just need more than my single experience to prove I have a case.
Here's an example Bike/Pedestrian plan I found online that I think we could model ours after.
Thank you in advance. I appreciate all your help.

So Flo Dating
Hi all, this is a really weird post to make and I’ll probably delete it soon after , but I have to ask this where are all the 30-45 year old single women? I’m tall, fit, relatively handsome and for the life of me can barely get a swipe on Tinder.
Not complaining, as someone who has been out of the game for a while and is relatively introverted I guess I’m curious to know , where do I even begin ?
I’ve had more luck making friends on Reddit than finding a date, the world is weird 🤣
Edit: Thanks for the positivity and good advice in this thread . Tinder has been deleted .

Which is more unbearable, Arizona or Florida?
Please let me know with your own experience. To me, Arizona heat is way more unbearable, those temps are insane and it barely cools off at night. In Florida the humidity is crazy and when it is 96 out and 100% humidity, it is an unimaginable type of heat, that is for sure, but in Florida we get rain constantly that cools things off for a bit , and by the coast we get the constant breeze from the ocean which cools you a tiny bit. I feel like AZ is straight burning sun heat, no rain,no breeze ,just burning heat
What are your thoughts?

How are South Florida assessments holding up? I assume they are increasing on much of the east coast.
