Reminder: Spyro Wiki is no longer on Fandom

Just posting a reminder that the Spyro Wiki moved from Fandom in 2025 and is now at https://spyrowiki.com!

Fandom has become a toxic corporation, they have full control over the wikis made on their platform and will force changes on the wiki communities regardless of user feedback. The excessive ads have also been annoying, they implemented AI generated answers that spread misinformation, and they will force changes onto articles without consent if paid to by bigger organizations.

When people started moving their wikis off from their platform, Fandom doubled down and tried stopping them by using intimidation tactics (demoting admins, labelling indie wiki links as "viruses" and "spam", hunting down those who talk about moving off-platform, plagarizing content from wikis that moved, etc).

Additional reasons include:

  • Intrusive ads invading the articles
  • Fandom implementing unnecessary layout and programming changes
  • Fandom having full control over the wiki community and adding community/corporate changes without consenting to wiki admins
  • Limited options for admins and editors
  • Terrible browsing experience, especially on mobile

And unfortunately Fandom will not close the old Spyro Fandom Wiki; this is to hide the fact that it moved off-platform and so that they can get ad revenue from those viewing the articles and editors still browsing there. And with Google SEO heavily catering to Fandom, we need the Spyro fanbase's help in giving the indie wiki the attention it deserves to overtake the Fandom Wiki in the search results.

How to help:

  • Do not vandalize the Fandom wiki. This will not help us and will only make things worse, as simply editing the Fandom articles will keep them at the top of the search results in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The vandalisms will only be simply reverted back by any available Fandom staff, who will be appointed to only stand by and keep the wiki running.
  • Do not click on any links or pages that will lead to the Spyro Fandom Wiki pages.
  • Do not continue editing the articles on spyro.fandom.com, even when new content, including info on Spyro: A Realm Beyond, is announced.
  • Replace your bookmarks and Search History with the spyrowiki.com site instead.
  • Use IndieWikiBuddy, a browser extension that allows you to easily find and support independent wikis
  • Spread the word to online communities that the Spyro Fandom Wiki has moved and is now on spyrowiki.com.

Unpopular PS1 Spyro 3 Opinions

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not buuut Spyro 3 somehow manages to be the best and worst game in the trilogy.

Sunrise Spring is an underrated home world. Platinum music. Dreamy cave. And it introduces to the player that each level/realm has its own unique portal design.

Sunrise Spring also holds the best Spyro levels in the game.. I hate to admit it but I think the early levels were the best. Could be nostalgia but I'd put all 4 of the normal Spyro levels in my top 4...

While I think Molten Crater is probably the worst level in Sunrise Spring, it's a torpedo to me that some people think it's one of the worst levels in the game... I still love it, despite how short it is.

The tunnel mini game in Seashell Shore is the only mini game in the level that sucks. The Shiela and Bruto mini games are all fun.

Midday Gardens gets way too much hate. It's a beautiful, simple home world level with kawaii rabbits and stellar architecture..

Spooky Swamp is a totally tubular level but the atrocious Shiela mushroom mini game REALLY drags the level down. It's that bad.

Evening Lake is the best home world in the game. Surreal in a bittersweet atmosphere. Love the whale ON THE PS1 VERSION.

Even though I love Evening Lake, it holds some less than great levels/realms...

Frozen Alters has too many problems.. The ice breath gets tedious after a while. I always thought the voices of the residents were eerie. None of the mini games are good... OOF... Even the giant lasers are kind of... pointless.

Lost Fleet has even more problems... It sucks because the concept is radical. A pirate ship yard filled with ghosts. But I guess where the stimulating part ends... The ghosts in the level are just rhynocs in diapers under sheets. I get what they were going for. It's almost super obvious that the level was inspired by a Scooby Doo episode but it would have been on a higher platform if the rhynocs were actual ghost pirates. The music is just Sheila's theme remixed.. The crabs are just the crabs from Aquaria Towers... Horrid skating mini game. But I did like the submarine mini game but that's about it... Very unfortunate level...

Fireworks Factory is a platinum level through out THE MAIN PART like everyone says BUUUUT all the mini games are bad...

Charmed Ridge is overrated... Go ahead and glue me to the throne of guilt. When developers reach a certain hault when they're using these old fables and fairy tales that everyone knows about, ya know they're running out of light bulbs and it's just cliche. Humpty Dumpty farted on a wall type of stuff...

I actually like playing as Bentley SOMETIMES. I feel like a cold Nephilim while playing as him.

Almost every Midnight Mountain level is really good but those three levels have one parasite that brings them down a bit such as Bentley smashing moles in Crystal Islands..

Desert Ruins is almost flawless but too many scorpion type of enemies.

Haunted Tomb could be one of the best levels in the game(Even better than the Egyptian levels in Crash 3) but that turret mini game is an absolute miscarriage. I even liked the mini game where Agent 9 shoots the snakes.

Dino Mines is the worst NORMAL level in the game. Lol. Just about nothing positive about it. Lol. Dinosaurs as cowboys might sound "creative" but it's just cheesy and feels random for the sake of being random. And the dinosaurs in general are just miserable to deal with. It's an ugly desert village.. So it's not even pleasing to look at. And all the mini games suck.

Spyro 3 has the best speedway levels in the franchise.

Super Bonus Round might as well be the WORST level in the entire trilogy.

Misc Wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with Spyro 3

I got a copy of spyro 3 for Christmas in 2000, shortly after it came out. I forgot where it happened in the game, but there was a point where the game literally would not let me progress. 6 year old me was obviously distraught, and even my older cousins and uncles couldn't figure out why I couldn't progress.

My mom ended up calling the phone number in the game pamphlet to ask what was up. I was there for the call and remember it. The lady told her it was a known glitch in some copies of the game, and they would send me out a new one. They ended up sending me a copy that had 3d art as part of the cover and a note from "Spyro" apologizing.

To this day, I still think about it. I still have the case somewhere with the art, but the disc is long gone. The original was a legit copy my mom bought from Walmart, so it wasn't due to it being a ripped copy. Anyone else have this happen to them?

What are the chances of the spyro reignited trilogy ever getting a 60fps boost on current gen consoles?

I can't think of a good reason for them not to give this update to us (jeez look at the way Witcher 3 keeps getting free updates over the years polishing the game to its maximum potential for players), it will make the game perfect the way it should be played...they should give it to us alongside spyro a realm beyond.

Are they just lazy or stupid or they don't care? does anyone know the real reason they haven't done it yet? I don't really like to be negative but I REALLY LOVE SPYRO and I feel we all deserve this

Funny Spyro 3 used to creep me out as a kid

Upvotes

As silly as this sounds, it's true lol. I remember when I first played Spyro 3 during my childhood, the music that plays in Sunrise Spring gave me an uncanny or off-putting feeling that I was in a place where I shouldn't be. I was afraid that something bad could happen to you at anytime, and it didn't help that Bianca kept warning you to go back and there was a cutscene of her telling Spyro and Hunter that the place is not safe for them. The cutscene of Hunter getting captured didn't help either. I was a weird kid lol.

Unpopular PS1 Spyro Trilogy Opinions?

Here's my hot takes..

Toasty is good level. Love how scary and unique the body slamming dogs are, creepy music, beautiful cathedral and Toasty is a decent first boss.

Dry Canyon is actually a good level. It's a level that really teaches Spyro to make some platinum glides.

Dr. Shemp is one of the better bosses in the game but I know that's not saying much..

Magic Crafters levels are a bit... annoying..

Wizard Peak is overrated. Getting all the blue wizards and egg thieves is a little much...

Terrace Village isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I like the punk gnorcs with the belly piercings. Lol..

Jacque is actually one of my favorite levels in the game. The music, the atmosphere, the enemies that look like monsters from a 1980s horror film, first level with lava I THINK, and even though Jacque is way too easy. I like his design and concept. A demon possessed jack in the box.

I like the dragon heads in Gnorc Gnexus. Gives it an epic feeling. Not every single home world has to have tons of things to do like Beast Makers. Lol. I just wanna go to the next level.

Gnorc Cove is a very underrated and unique level. I have a weakness for harbor levels and I love how you can just about defeat every single enemy with an explosive.

There's nothing wrong with Colossus. I know people complain about the hockey mini game. It might take a while to get through but it functions well. Which is more than I can say about the lightning stones mini game in Hurricos..

I know a lot of people dislike Sunny Beach but I think it's one of the best levels in the game. The music, the atmosphere, and the right amount of swimming(I love being able to swim with the baby turtles if you're in the right spot at the right time). The weird fat duck enemies with the floaties are interesting and none of the mini games are as bad as people make them out to be.

Too much swimming for Aquaria Towers..

Skelo's Badlands is a very good level but I wouldn't put it in my top 5... Please don't impale me. Lol.

I like Crystal Glacier but the music is very forgettable.

Breeze Harbor is the best level in the game. Majestic residents, funny enemies, beautiful environment with lots of bright and dark colors, skybox is the best in the game, serene music, boats with wings. The floating spikey mines remind me of "The Sun In Splendour". One of the very few levels with both water and lava. The clams are my favorite fodder. Yes. The trolley mini game is hard but it doesn't mean it's bad. "TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY, EH?" is iconic. The whole level is a dream on a sentimental summer night.

I love Autumn Plains but I personally feel like it could be more "autumny".

While the Autumn Plains castle is majestic and amazing. It holds some of the worst levels in the game... OOF. Lol..

I dont think Fracture Hills is all bad or all good. I like the top section with the valley girl fauns, killer trees and bushes, and dancing pigs. However I can definitely see where a lot of people hate this level as well.. It's just Idol Spring's music copy and pasted. The constant bagpipes every time you free a satyr. THE MINI GAMES ARE THE WORST(Far from an unpopular opinion)!!!

Magma Cone is the worst normal level in Spyro 2. It has very negative energy. Annoying earth shapers and the brown midgets. Ugly to look at. Probably the worst sky box in the game. Too much climbing(It's just not fun). The way Spyro closes the volcano doesn't make sense. Lets not forget crystal popcorn... It's not Spyro helping anyone out... It's just Hunter wanting to be a douchebag... I hate the outro.

The female genies in Shady Oasis are attractive...

Agent Zero Mini Game in Cloud Temples isn't a bad mini game. It's just weird. Lol.

The bomb throwing ox mini game in Metropolis isn't that hard.

I might do Spyro 3 another day. I'm tired. Hahaha..

Misc Bootleg "Spyro" keychain that was randomly gifted to me 13-15 years ago

Randomly laid my eyes upon it and realized I've always meant to ask if anyone ever owned bootleg "merch" like that.

I was gifted this keychain by an ex-internet friend when they came to visit me 13-15 years ago (I'm from Ukraine). It used to had a usb-flashdrive in place of wings (and even was styled like one, fully orange colored), but I unfortunately lost them during my school years. For a long time, it used to be the only Spyro-lookalike item I've ever had! :D

Anyone had bootlegs like this too? Am I the sole remaining owner of this hornless gremlin?

Im new to spyro fan games.

Spyro fan games are a great way to play for someone like me who has already beat the original trilogy 5 or 6 7 8 maybe 9 dang times now who knows. I know those levels all to well

So when i discovered spaghetti spyro games ans other fan games I was thrilled. Its hard to pick a favorite but Skyward Heist, Crisis in Cranolia and Aurora Skies (with boss and skateboard level)

As far as level packs go or single levels my favorite is probanly crystal fissures "blowhards revenge" and some of Adam the Dragons spyro 1 themed stuff.

Adam the dragon is hit and miss for me it seems like he drops 8 ways to go and 7 mazes and pits and confusing layouts with over 1k gems.. then the next level will be a dark hollow inspired level that has the best Vibe, Music, Level Layout etc etc with 400 gems making it a traditional size level. I love that.

I love his bigger levels too like the lava one and breeze garden and aquatic vault. I just dont like the maze type stuff.

I have also tried the gba remake so far 3 levels are ready all are amazing.

And i tried that giant 1 hour 10k gem level. Ill have to try again i made it halfway lol.

Anyway having a blast but..

Im here to get your thoughts.

What are your favorite spaghetti spyro or spyro fan games?

Any here i didnt name you would recommend?

Is adam the maze dragon hit and miss for you too?

Do u love aurora skies and blowhards revenge also?

I just finished Spyro 2 original and reignited back to back

Wow, the original still holds up pretty well. Controls aren't bad, graphics are ok, camera can be a bit annoying... But overall it's still a lot of fun and nostalgic to play.

Reignited did a great job and had a lot of fun with this version too.

A couple of noticeable issues with Reignited are some of the character designs are pretty bad. E.g Elora and quite a few other NPCs..

But the biggest issue is the voice acting. It's like the NPCs on each level were voiced by people with no enthusiasm... Or maybe it was a complete rush job... Definitely the worst part for me. No personality or emotion in a lot of the voice acting. Do you agree?

I expect I'll alternate between the two versions in the future.

What were your like and dislikes of original Vs Reignited?

I was using Spyro with the fairy kiss style in Fortnite so I had to find a way of doing it. I thought his reaction was quite funny.
