Here's my hot takes..
Toasty is good level. Love how scary and unique the body slamming dogs are, creepy music, beautiful cathedral and Toasty is a decent first boss.
Dry Canyon is actually a good level. It's a level that really teaches Spyro to make some platinum glides.
Dr. Shemp is one of the better bosses in the game but I know that's not saying much..
Magic Crafters levels are a bit... annoying..
Wizard Peak is overrated. Getting all the blue wizards and egg thieves is a little much...
Terrace Village isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I like the punk gnorcs with the belly piercings. Lol..
Jacque is actually one of my favorite levels in the game. The music, the atmosphere, the enemies that look like monsters from a 1980s horror film, first level with lava I THINK, and even though Jacque is way too easy. I like his design and concept. A demon possessed jack in the box.
I like the dragon heads in Gnorc Gnexus. Gives it an epic feeling. Not every single home world has to have tons of things to do like Beast Makers. Lol. I just wanna go to the next level.
Gnorc Cove is a very underrated and unique level. I have a weakness for harbor levels and I love how you can just about defeat every single enemy with an explosive.
There's nothing wrong with Colossus. I know people complain about the hockey mini game. It might take a while to get through but it functions well. Which is more than I can say about the lightning stones mini game in Hurricos..
I know a lot of people dislike Sunny Beach but I think it's one of the best levels in the game. The music, the atmosphere, and the right amount of swimming(I love being able to swim with the baby turtles if you're in the right spot at the right time). The weird fat duck enemies with the floaties are interesting and none of the mini games are as bad as people make them out to be.
Too much swimming for Aquaria Towers..
Skelo's Badlands is a very good level but I wouldn't put it in my top 5... Please don't impale me. Lol.
I like Crystal Glacier but the music is very forgettable.
Breeze Harbor is the best level in the game. Majestic residents, funny enemies, beautiful environment with lots of bright and dark colors, skybox is the best in the game, serene music, boats with wings. The floating spikey mines remind me of "The Sun In Splendour". One of the very few levels with both water and lava. The clams are my favorite fodder. Yes. The trolley mini game is hard but it doesn't mean it's bad. "TROUBLE WITH THE TROLLEY, EH?" is iconic. The whole level is a dream on a sentimental summer night.
I love Autumn Plains but I personally feel like it could be more "autumny".
While the Autumn Plains castle is majestic and amazing. It holds some of the worst levels in the game... OOF. Lol..
I dont think Fracture Hills is all bad or all good. I like the top section with the valley girl fauns, killer trees and bushes, and dancing pigs. However I can definitely see where a lot of people hate this level as well.. It's just Idol Spring's music copy and pasted. The constant bagpipes every time you free a satyr. THE MINI GAMES ARE THE WORST(Far from an unpopular opinion)!!!
Magma Cone is the worst normal level in Spyro 2. It has very negative energy. Annoying earth shapers and the brown midgets. Ugly to look at. Probably the worst sky box in the game. Too much climbing(It's just not fun). The way Spyro closes the volcano doesn't make sense. Lets not forget crystal popcorn... It's not Spyro helping anyone out... It's just Hunter wanting to be a douchebag... I hate the outro.
The female genies in Shady Oasis are attractive...
Agent Zero Mini Game in Cloud Temples isn't a bad mini game. It's just weird. Lol.
The bomb throwing ox mini game in Metropolis isn't that hard.
I might do Spyro 3 another day. I'm tired. Hahaha..
