MEETUP I need friends!!
Hi everyone! I’m 29F and have been back in St. Louis for nearly 2 years. I’ve had the hardest time finding actual good friends. I am very socially awkward so I have a hard time making friends. So I’m putting myself out there in hopes I’ll make friends! A bit about myself: I live right outside of Downtown near Soulard. I’m an Interior Designer and work for a flooring and remodeling company. I’m in school full time for construction management. I love reading, shopping, antiquing, magic the gathering, Pilates/working out, concerts, painting/drawing, baseball, escape rooms, and traveling. I have quite the collection of bones and angel figurines. Once I’m comfortable with you, I become quite the yapper and listener. What I’m looking from you: you also enjoy some of the activities I do, and would like to do those with me. You also like wine and charcuterie nights at one of our apartments with spooky movies. You like to yap a lot, and have a lot of information to share. I love learning new things and being able to share my knowledge. You love to laugh, and try new things. I work in the building industry here as well. The HBA has a young people’s group that meets fairly regularly. It could be a great way to make some new friends while also networking. There is also a great NKBA and ASID. I moved here when I was 24 and awkward as hell and the people were all so nice and welcoming.

Do you have a favorite cafe you like to visit often? I read & hear The Drip is an awesome to library/cafe spot to rendezvous at. The same goes for The Protagonist Cafe in your neck of Soulard being a fun place to gather at as well. I've been told those are great places to meet people, drink a latte while perhaps discussing the latest book interest ✌🏾

Early 30s F, also working in design for a flooring company. I like antiquing, baseball, going to shows, making nail polish/painting nails, crafty things, cooking, fossils, neat rocks, tchotchkes, and all things spooky (my Halloween decor will start going up today lol) I'm also an animal lover and make some pretty decent jams/jellies.

I did, but she passed like 6 years ago at 15 y/o! 💖 I have a tattoo of her! I have cats now. But will eventually get another Pug once my fiance and I buy a house. 💜

I feel the best way to find your people is attend local events. Specifically local concert venues/bars to find local music and meet new people. You're in a good place as there are some great spots from Soulard, down South Grand to Bevo.

My girlfriend had a similar experience when she moved out of Kansas to live with me in STL. I believe she found a “local women of st.louis” (not sure what the name is) Facebook group page that was centered around trying to make connections in a safe way. She’s met a handful of girls who she get hers nails done with or goes out to lunch with now.

What kind of Bones? Do you go out and find them yourself or do you explore the city for vendors and such? Back in June there was the Pagan picnic in Tower grove and there was this vendor who had so many kinds of ribs and vertebrae for sale.

If you want some good places to play mtg and are willing to cross the river, there are a couple awesome and very welcoming card shops in Madison County. Heroic adventures in Edwardsville is extremely welcoming but more structured (drafts and what not) or realms of gaming in Troy has a lot more 'sit down and play' type commander nights.

To clarify, WPBL (Women's Professional Baseball League) is the women's major league. All of their games this year have been played out of Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois.

also, i have lots of book recommendations and have been back in stl for a few years myself. if you find cool things let me know! i got into baseball after moving here but am a huge basketball fan. enjoy exercise of all forms, got really into running this year and want to learn tennis. love the renfaire. still need to go to the horse races and fuel my inner bukowski. havent gotten used to the winters. love to camp and adventure. wine collection is getting about as large as book collection at this point. sad that 33 wine bar closed.

If you like board games and don't mind a drive miniature Market cave springs has board game night every Friday and the group there is fantastic. For miniature Market rock hill I think it's every other Sunday but don't know for sure. I'm relearning commander and was thinking about going to play Sunday at cave springs for open play if you want to join.

Join the Women's Social Club! We're a group of women across the city who come together a few times a month to socialize. We have events throughout the month, such as a quarterly book club, crafting classes, trying new restaurants etc. Last weekend, we did a Turkish Lamp making class. Fortuna Games is having an inclusive ‘Ladies Night’ Commander night on Sept 14. Great store and the owners are good people.
