Nba 2k27 cannot recognize controller

I managed to run NBA 2k27 as a non steam game using GE-Proton 11-6, but for some reason it cannot detect my steamdeck controller, it only lets me play using keyboard and mouse.

anyone encounter the same issue?, or already had a fix for the issue?

Try and turn on steam controller then see if that works if not turn it back off and then try again also make sure you put this in your game settings under properties/General/Launch Options ~dx11 it has to be exactly like this ~dx11 if you don't know how to get the line thingy just hold shift and press the button next to the 1 button hope you get it working

Did not fix the issue after adding it nba did not open at all. Just to add i already have this on the launch option also, on order for the game to work

you can also try ~dx12 instead of the ~dx11 that might help also you may need to go into the settings of your laptop / computer and change the resolution to a lower one and try a few different ones if that works then your be able to open the game and go to settings and change the resolution and other things in there to make the game run good I had to do that to get it to run on my mini pc 64GB of ram and 56 GB on the graphics card it took me a couple times to get it right but I got it to work or be playable anyways hope this helps if not reach back out I will try and help you with this

Managed to open the game, adding ~dx11 and ~dx12 still did not fix the issue , the controller still cannot be detected

Yes i did try to connect a external controller, and its working, i used a nintendo switch pro controller to be exact

To be sure are you on a beta on your steam deck if so switch back to regular steam reset your deck and try to see if that works

Yes i did what happened is both controllers are now not being recognized by the game

Have you tried a factory reset on the steam deck might be the only thing left to try i know it's a bitch but might want to give it some serious thought

Do NOT factory reset your Deck. If you look on this sub, other people are having the same issue. Factory resetting your device isn't going to magically fix it.

Can you press all your button to make sure none of them are sticking could be the cause of the problem press them a few times to make sure they aren't sticking

For real when 8t comes to the steam controller its a hit or miss cause my steam controller would work either I tried the puck no luck then I connected it bluetooth and it still didn't work and from what I gathered there isn't a factory reset option at all I think the only thing you can try is to uninstall the controller from your computer and reinstall it, I will look and see what's the best course of action and get back to you
