According to a reddit post, supposedly developers have been invited to participate in an upcoming Steam VR game sale starting September 14th and ending September 21st. Of course, you can immediately jump to conclusions and shout "Wow! This means the Steam Frame is soon!" Good on you if you think that. You can also believe "This is total bullshit and probably fake." And I wouldn't fault you for that either. Either way, if this does end up being true, it's your chance to save on some more VR games for when that Frame eventually does come out. I'm only covering this because they're really isn't much else that happened this week. The crooked mods of r/SteamFrame kept the post up, so at least someone believes it.
Email to developers talking about the Steam VR sale
COOL THING: Beat Saber is now Frame Verified!
As of this week, Beat Saber is now officially verified for Standalone play on Steam Frame! If you remember a while back, it got hit with the "unsupported" tag for whatever reason. I've heard it was unsupported because the default graphics configuration was too high for the Frame to run well, and you had to manually turn the graphics settings down. I've also heard there could have been some weird classic Linux audio issue. It was marked as "default graphics configuration didn't perform well" officially, so I'm more inclined to believe the former. Either way, whatever issue it was has been fixed, and we can now confirm Beat Saver runs great on Frame! Side note, as of this writing, there are now 99 Frame Verified games on Steam. I wonder what will be the 100th...? Place your bets now!
TLDR: Supposed Steam sale for VR game starting soon, Beat Saber is standalone verified. The Frame is still not out yet.
It’s been a little while since we last shared an update about the community Discord, and with us recently passing 6,000 members now feels like a good time to let everyone know what’s changed.
Over the past few months we’ve made a number of improvements:
Improved moderation with the introduction of Mod Mail, clearer warning and ban processes, and a consistent appeals system.
The 18+ requirement has been removed. The server is now open to anyone who meets Discord’s minimum age requirement. We still have a dedicated section for adult members who want to opt in.
Steam Frame compatibility support has been expanded, including a bot that automatically posts new Great on Frame verification updates.
Frame Watch continues to be the place for the latest Steam Frame leaks and rumours.
Frame TL;DR provides a weekly roundup of the biggest Steam Frame news.
With launch getting closer, we’ve also got plenty of community events, giveaways and discussions planned.
Whether you’re joining for the first time or giving us a second chance after being away for a while, we’d love to have you.

I've got one, it's a cool device but I am convinced once I have my Steam Frame this one will probably go the way of the dodo. I suspect this is to try and clear whatever inventory they have, but honestly it's probably not a big enough discount to do much.
Anyway, Ive been shaky on rumors of imminent release and then I read this email and was like, "YUP IT'S HERE!"
Hi all, Lunch, Flat2VR & VR Dad here. r/PCVR is now reopened.
We wanted a central place where people could talk about everything related to PCVR and VR modding online, and discord is a closed garden a lot of people don't like. It's still the best place to get the latest VR mods and where modders live, but we wanted this information to be public and searchable online for modders & everyone.
Which is why we are reopening r/PCVR to the public!
I wonder how it worked on Valve Index. Let's imagine you asked a friend to buy Valve Index (will be Steam Frame in my case) for you. Will HL: Alyx be automatically redeemed for them and not for you, or is it something like an activation code?
Any experience with third party sellers of Valve Index regarding this?
After 4 years, solo developer ANB_Seth is launching "Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone" on Steam (Mouse & Keyboard + Controller), Steam Deck and SteamVR!
Note: While the initial plan was to launch the same day as Steam Frame, we ultimately decided to choose our own launch timing. But we still have full trust that SteamFrame will be coming this Summer, as this is Valves last standing statement. So we wanted to pick a date that will make sure that Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone will be available close to any possible SteamFrame Summer-release.
This will be my first vr headset and I have no idea about any vr games, I’m mainly interested in Skyrim vr and mods such as the breath of the wild vr mod but outside of that I have no clue, any suggestions would be great so I can add them to the wish list now, thanks.
The evidence for a release today is pure copium and not substantiated by anyone. Can we please temper our expectations and not turn the sub into a whining mess at 10AM PT. The review embargo will not end before the 7th September and shipping will not occur before the 14th September. Could be later but it won't be earlier.
I attempted steam link with my quest 3 but it was so stuttery that I couldn't do it for long and I have a higher end Linux PC. I get the same laggines when streaming to my steam deck for tv gaming so I have to assume it's the wifi that's the problem.
I'm hoping the dongle will improve this but has there ever been a similar product to gauge the effectiveness? Would it be possible to use it to stream from my PC to the deck as well?
So I plan on buying the Steam Frame (obviously) but this would end up being my very first VR headset. One of the main things I wanted to try out is the VR version of CoD zombies that I keep seeing clips of. If that would be only for a specific headset I understand but I would love if someone already knew the answer to this.
literally not even an hour of discussion and mods have locked a totally reasonable post for literally no reason. I get you disagree with the post, but this sub isn't your personal chat room, this is a place for people interested in the steam frame to chat. Let people discuss things openly without big brother constantly breathing down your back. I have pulled back from posting useful information on this sub several times because of heavy handed moderation.
Gunman contracts was set to release at the same time as the frame, and so it is warranted to have a conversation about it, regardless if things have changed for them; it's a new development.
Thanks to the mods for restoring this post as well. It's a good faith move.
ANB_Seth said we wouldn’t give any release info until the steam frame is either released or a date is set and he would release on that date.
Edit: ANB_Seth is the developer of Gunman Contractors, rumored to be in the reviewer package, and steam frame verified.
Edit pt2: Mods let the people comment if they want to discuss thing and converse, while it is fucken annoying my email is being spammed. Please let them have their conversation. Thank you.
I was just doing a little beatsaber and wondered if we know if the quest 3 will have some decent joysticks, or if we're stuck with these tiny little things.
