News/Politics Swansea Bay Metro
More information has surfaced on the timeline and cost of the Swansea Bay Metro.
The first phase includes a £50m Cockett station (which seems expensive) and more services to Pembrokeshire.
The second phase will see the Swansea District Line opened to passenger trains with new stations at Pontlliw, Felindre, Morriston and Llandarcy.
The 2050 vision includes a £1bn tram line connecting Swansea station to the Neath Valley via the university's Bay Campus together with electrification and the promise of 35-minute services to Cardiff (which seems incredibly fast unless these are direct trains?)
The catch is that there's currently no funding allocated to any of this.
