Work at Marshall’s and had a home goods employee come in a buy stuff, did not have their discount card with them so of course I’m not going to type it in, I don’t know you and policy states you must show it. They get all entitled like “ I work across the street, I switched purses and don’t have it” not my problem, then they’re like “well I’m coming back to get my discount” literally was going to be $8. 🙄Question is wouldn’t they have to return everything and rebuy it or is there a way to do it by just the receipt? Just want to know for future reference.

I might have to call out tomorrow and my husband thinks if I do it will affect my holiday pay for Labor Day next week. I kept telling him that thats a separate check for next week. Would calling out tomorrow affect holiday pay for labor day?

I've been at HomeGoods for several years and my store is under new management since the Mgr who hired me retired. This new Mgr does almost everything differently. I wanted to see if anyone knows where I could get a copy of the HG handbook/TJX handbook. I want to know which Mgr is doing things the right way or if the Mgr has overall approval on how they want things done in their store. I've been in retail a long time and this is the first place I've worked that doesn't have a paper handbook. Does that mean policies are fluid and can change at Mgr's whim?

I usually see next weeks schedule in work jam by now but there’s nothing posted. I know they been switching to UKG but I thought work jam was still going to work. Maybe I am wrong but is there another so we are suppose to be using?

So I got promoted to key carrier, yay!? But I have no idea what that means. I'm a coordinator right now, but I was wondering what changes for me as a key carrier other than, well, having keys. I just started at this company not too long ago, so I'm not very familiar with what key carriers have to do other than hold keys and be the manager when the managers are on lunch or something. I was also told there's a test I'll have to take and training I'll have to do. Does anyone know what I'll be trained for or what I need to know to pass the test? Any help with this will be much appreciated. Or any advice from one key carrier to another

so i quit suddenly about two weeks ago, another opportunity came up and I was honest about it with management. I was supposed to get my last paycheck yesterday but never did. I tried logging in to workday to see things and my account was deleted?? wtf do i do??

I’m like 90% sure this lady stole a whole cart full of things right in front of me during my shift today and I never said anything because I’m barely remembering how nothing this lady said made sense . How much trouble can I get it for not reporting anything?

I swear, the more dependable you are, the more they pile on you. I’m a floor coordinator, but because I’m reliable (or because I’m full time and here 90% of the time) , I’m constantly getting pulled to register because we don’t have enough people. Then I’m still expected to finish all my coordinator responsibilities, keep up with credit cards (i’m on a register so much that I’m expected to get as many cards as a CEC because of my transactional numbers) , recovery, customer service, and everything else happening on the floor.
I literally cannot be in 5 places at once, but somehow that’s what’s expected. 😒
We just had a meeting with HR and all the coordinators in the region, and honestly, it felt so fake. Everyone is saying the same things: we’re understaffed, overworked, constantly being pulled away from our actual responsibilities, and exhausted. Yet nothing changes.
At this point, being a good employee feels like a punishment. If you show that you can handle something, congratulations! 🎉 Now it’s permanently your problem.
I’m tired of being the person they can always depend on to fill every gap. **I’m one person!**

My wife thinks it might be a typo and they mean 15 but it still seems kinda shitty if so given that it's a work app and I'm sure a lot of people using it are on older phones (like half of the other employees at my store)

For context I went on vacation last week on 8/16 - 8/19 and worked Thursday and Friday I ended with 14.92 hours I was off Saturday. But my vacation time was never put in and was processed as RTO instead as the pay code VAC it's now going into Wednesday I told my merchandising manager Monday I'm going to tell the store manager tomorrow because I forgot to today I guess my question is what is this going to happen what do I have to do to speed it up am I just SOL oh and I'm a key carrier so this has been approved at least a month ago .

What are you guys putting on this? Sometimes after doing it, I forget what I wrote down and I’m constantly getting called out for not talking about it. I’m new to Marshalls and the whole credit card thing has been really tough for me. It seems like my whole shift I have someone standing behind me listening to what I’m telling the customer. Is this normal? For a retail job there is so much pressure here.

I am a beauty/shoes coordinator at Marshall’s. Here’s my frustration…Monday they had me on push for every department but my own. Pushed about 16 totes, 2 home tanks, and 2 coffin boxes of merchandise. Then I spent about a hour organizing shoes and being a cashier. Tuesday again same setup…push every department but my own. Finally after lunch I worked on a beauty tank. Then again was jumping between the tank and cashiering.

Now my frustration the assistant manager in charge of merchandising gives me a coaching because purses and shoes are not completed in back and my department isn’t organized properly.

I don’t know when I ever have time to work on my department and every week it’s the same setup. Does it ever get better? Am I doing something wrong? Just so frustrated and feel like I am on the edge of being let go.

I understand how annoying it must be to always ask for the card. We have associates who try and really do get cards during their shift. I want to reward them myself with something other than a reach card. Any recommendations?
