Housing Looking for victims of housing scams - Delta

Hi everyone,

For an article about housing scams, I am looking for personal stories from TU Delft students who fell victim to one.

The aim of the article is to warn students about the risks of rental fraud, since the scams are getting more and more sophisticated.

The article will be published on TU Delta, the journalistic platform of the TU Delft.

Would you like to share your story/ know someone who would? Please send me a DM.

Cheers,

Inger

I’m 194cm and play PF/C, I play team basketball and been playing for quite some time. If anyone knows someone who organizes games/ has a group I’d love to join and hang out. Hoping to hear back from anyone with recommendations and invites :)

Campus bike repair

Hello. I went to get my bike fixed today at the campus bike repair shop but they told me I need to come back tomorrow at 9am to get it fixed. The problem is I have class everyday at 9am.
Do you know if they take in bikes later in the day? Furthermore, do you know if they do bike check ups? My bike hasn’t been used in almost 20 years and I want to get an overall check up. Thank you!

Wanneer beginnen met zoeken naar een kamer? Studiejaar 2027-2028.

Mijn zoon wil volgend jaar, vanaf 2027-2028 applied Physics gaan studeren in Delft. Wij wonen in Zuid-Limburg. Iemand tips?

Secure bike parking

Hi guys, I’m planning to bike from The Hague to TU Delft.

I’d like to use my road bike to make the commute quicker and more comfortable, but I’m not sure if there’s anywhere on campus where I can park it safely. Does anyone know of a secure bike parking spot or have any recommendations?

Housing Has anyone rented through 4-Freedom at Aan ’t Verlaat in Delft?

Hi everyone,

I’m starting my master’s at TU Delft and I recently applied for a room at Aan ’t Verlaat through 4-Freedom. I’ve now been invited to a viewing.

Before going any further, I wanted to ask about people’s experiences with 4-Freedom, especially at Aan ’t Verlaat.

I confirm that my post is not asking about generic housing experiences

I found an old TU Delft Delta article about international students at Aan ’t Verlaat having problems getting their deposits back, including a case where many students had their deposits withheld for alleged extra cleaning costs. Eventually, 38 students took legal action and received €17,239.37 in total.

How are things with 4-Freedom now, especially for people who have recently rented from them?

  • Are they generally trustworthy?
  • Did you get your full deposit back when you moved out?
  • Have you had any problems with unexpected charges or cleaning costs?
  • How was the viewing and application process?
  • If you were invited to a viewing, what happened afterwards?
  • Would you personally recommend renting from them?

I am also very much aware of the housing crisis but also paying almost 1000 Euros to a 30m2 room with every acility shared seems a bit too much.

I’m particularly interested in recent experiences, since the deposit case I found is from a few years ago.

Thanks in advance!

Off-Topic/Fun Safe places to park a foldable bike at TU Delft campus

I’m a second year aerospace student at TU Delft and recently I got a foldable bike to commute from Den Haag to Delft. However, I know that bike theft is a common thing that happens with the “fancier” bikes in here. So I was wondering if there are any safe places to park my bike around the campus?

Can you unenrol even if your Professor hasn't uploaded the grades by 31st?

I just found out that my professor forgot to upload my thesis grades on Osiris. I have gotten my physical certificate and have defended my thesis. Would there be any complications if I unenrol, regardless? I have emailed him. I hope he uploads them on 31st 😭

Courses in the same time slot

Hello, I’m starting the “Space” track for Ms AE and I wanted to follow “CFD for Aerospace Engineers” during Q1. Its classes, however, are at the same time as the ones for “Planetary Exploration”. If there’s someone who has previously managed to follow the course, could you tell me how did you do it? Did you follow both of them at the same time or did you place it in Year 2?

AE questions

interested in aerospace engineering and currently completing my A levels (math, phys, chem) and had a question(s)

  • Would i be more likely to be accepted if i had A grades rather than B grades? or is it only based on the assessments conducted by TUDelft themselves?
  • Would working on a project (such as drones/rockets) increase the chance of being offered a seat?
  • for any Aerospace engineers from delft, how was the entrance exam? how about the entrance exam compared to the syllabus they provide beforehand, how similiar/useful is it?

please info dump anything you can/want to about TUDelft and/or AE

thank you in advance 😄

It is unclear to me whether our access to Brightspace, OSIRIS, and Outlook will expire immediately upon termination of our enrollment at TU Delft or three months after that.

applying for MCs with an Iranian BCs

Hi. I'm from Iran and will be finishing my bachelor in materials science and engineering from one of the top 5 universities here, with a good resume and an IELTS academic 8of overall 8.5. I've been really interesting in continuing my studies in DELFT for masters, but apparently there's been this new rules set since appx. October 2025 where u need to have a masters degree to be able to study for masters if are from Iran which is insane!!!

I emailed the Student Administration about it and it's serious and no bridging courses are provided for international students. Does anyone have a clue about this? what lead to this stupid decision since nothing has changed in the quality and level of our bachelors and they're still ur average 4-year programs as they've always been.

I'd appreciate any sort of help on this since it's been my dream to go to DELFT and now I'm rally confused. I've heard rumors that other NL universities are also implementing this, but I'm not sure if all.

After graduating with an MSc in Urbanism degree, what are the work opportunities??

Hello all,
I am planning to do my MSc in Urbanism from TU Delft for the 2027 intake. I spoke to a few alumni from TU Delft who graduated this year; they were saying the work opportunities are not at their best and are really, really bad.
Anyone who is working in NL, can you please give your insights on this, like how are the work opportunities for urban designers?

I am from India and have worked for 2 years in an urban design firm.
