These purchases have not happened yet, but I’ve consented to the pattern so that the card on file will be charged this money without needing my attention each time.

when I made the initial purchase, the one that registered me for these monthly recurring purchases (a “subscription” where I’m from), I intentionally changed the payment method to my ebt card that’s been linked to my account for a long time, the checkout program recognized that the item did, in fact, qualify to go on the food card, we spit on our hands and shook and it was a done deal. Rye grains paid for with the ebt card and scheduled to repeat monthly.

The subsequence purchase, however, the first automatic one, has been set, without my permission, to charge my credit card and not the ebt. Moreover, it’s not even giving me the option to change it back to the card I paid for the first one with.

This story happened a few years back when I was working at my first job post college. During my job my boss would have me do some side tasks where I would either pick up things for her or head to Hell Mart to pick up items for the break room. Per usual, I had to go to HellMart and pick up some stuff for the break room and I had a pretty big list. Mainly a lot of coffee cups, coffee ground/creamer, and other items. Now my boss was pretty old school and she would still give me checks to write out when I was going to pay for something. Cool right? I head to the store and pick up everything on the list. My cart is pretty full and and once I grab my things I head to the registers. Normally I would look for one particular cashier because she had seen me so much at the store that we would have some small chatter during transactions. She wasn't here today, so I just went to the first (and only) cashier I could see that was open and thankfully this cashier only had one person. This is during the morning before 10 am, so the Store was pretty calm and quiet. I head to the register and as I'm waiting for the lady in front of me to finish, I slowly start putting my stuff up to get ready and I notice that the cashier is looking at me put the stuff up. This cashier was a bit older, and I guess she seemed pretty annoyed by the amount of stuff I had in my basket that she made a comment to the customer she was helping, saying "These young people today want to make life harder for us older folks" I hear what she says, but I just smile and continue putting my stuff up. She makes a few more comments to the person upfront but by this point I don't care anymore.

Finally it's my time and she starts ringing me up. Already she is having an attitude with me, making comments about the amount of stuff I have and how I could have been done faster at the self checkout since they were all empty. I personally let her keep going and don't say a word to see how far she would go since it was a Monday morning, and I honestly needed something to wake me up for the day. She finally asks me "Tell me why you decided to go make me scan and bag all of these items when you could have been done with self checkout". My excitement rises and I look at her with a gleeful smile and just say "I'm paying with a check, and they don't accept those at self checkout" and instantly pull out the blank check ready for my total. The way her face immediately went from a smug smile to an annoyed poker face was instantaneous. She proceeded to just give a small "oh okay" and was completely silent the rest of the transaction. Before she was eyeing me up and down judging me for looking young and not doing a transaction myself, to just looking down at the items and not even saying a word. At this point I just continue to look at her as I wait for my total to come up so I can get my check ready. Finally my total is ready and it's over 100$, so of course she needs my ID to verify the transaction and whatnot. This was where I became a little bit childish and jokingly told her "Checks are so annoying, I wish they accepted them at self checkout so I wouldn't have to wait any longer", which she was not amused about.

Anyways the transaction ended and my interaction with her was done. I left the store feeling amused by the interaction because I'd never heard of a cashier trying to put me down for using the regular line instead of self checkout due to my age. I would've understood more if I had a ton of heavy items, but literally the most annoying thing in my cart was the 6 packs of coffee cups my boss wanted to bring.

This was loooong before shelf checkout was even a precious thought in anyone’s head. Mom and I went to the local wallyworld to stock up on groceries for the week. There was always this one cranky lady that would check out customers and we always tried to avoid her, but alas we had an unforgettable encounter.

This was during the rush hour times every store has, lanes all full of shoppers waiting to check out, opening a magazine to see the national headlines while they waited tens of minutes. Mom and I finally got to the conveyor belt and “oh no!” There’s no divider to put between our lot and the gal’s in front of us. No big deal, we make sure there’s plenty of space to make sure the ol bitty knows the difference. We unloaded the vast majority of our cart, another person waiting in line behind us when the first gal finally checked out. The ol bitty cashier looks at our stuff says “there’s no divider, I’m not serving you” with this coy sneer. Mom looks are her and says “well that’s your problem now!” And just up and walks out! The look on her and the floor managers face!!!!

I didn’t see her checking customers out after that.

I’m in the middle of relocating from San Diego, CA to Socorro, NM, and I recently learned a lesson about not committing to a moving company too quickly.

In July, I was contacted by a moving broker. They offered me what sounded like a really good deal for my interstate move. The salesperson told me the deposit was refundable and said I needed to sign the contract right away if I wanted to lock in the price.

I was under some pressure from the move, the price sounded good, and I signed. I paid a $700 deposit by ACH.

After signing, I started doing more research into the company. That was when I found a lot of very negative reviews and began feeling increasingly uncomfortable about trusting them with essentially everything I owned.

My move was still weeks away anyway, and I realized I had made the decision way too quickly.

Fortunately, the contract had a very clear cancellation provision: if I canceled in writing within 72 hours of signing, the deposit would be refunded minus a 5% cancellation fee.

So I canceled within that 72-hour window.

According to the contract, I should receive $665 back.

That was more than a month ago.

Since then, I’ve called them over and over again. Almost every conversation has gone the same way.

“Your refund is still processing.”

Has the refund actually been sent?

“It’s still processing.”

Can you tell me anything more specific?

“It’s still processing.”

Eventually, after several calls, they told me they had created an “escalation ticket” and asked me to wait for an update. I agreed and waited another week.

Nothing.

No email. No update. No refund.

I then sent them a final written notice explaining that I needed an actual update rather than another vague assurance that the refund was being processed.

No meaningful response.

I called again today.

And once again:

“It’s still processing.”

At this point, it’s almost surreal. I’m not even arguing with them about whether I qualify for a refund. I canceled within the exact timeframe written in their own contract. They haven’t told me that my refund was denied. They just keep telling me, week after week, that it is somehow still “processing,” while being unable to provide a date, transaction number, or any evidence that the refund has actually been initiated.

I’ve now filed formal complaints with the FMCSA and the Better Business Bureau, and I’m prepared to escalate further if necessary. After I filed the complaint, I notified them about it, but they still gave me no response.

What frustrates me most is how completely unnecessary this whole situation is. If they had simply processed the refund according to their own written policy, this would have been over a month ago.

Instead, I’ve spent weeks making phone calls, sending emails, documenting conversations, reading regulations, and filing complaints — all to get back money that their own contract says they owe me.

Has anyone encountered similar situations? What is the best approach to get the money back?

This was quite a few years ago, but having just found this sub, it brought it back to my mind. A friend had given me a gift certificate for a local nail salon / day spa. I took a chance and went in to se if they had a walk on appointment for a facial. They didn't have any availability that day, not an issue, so I asked if I could schedule an appointment for the following weekend. At first, the woman helping me ( the owner) was very friendly, polite, and professional. She set me up with an appointment and we were good to go. When I showed up for the appointment, she was at the front desk again. I mentioned I would be using a gift certificate before the took me back into the spa area. Her demeanor instantly changed, and she went off on a rant of how it was wrong of me to not let her know beforehand that I was using a gift certificate. She then went off, telling me that since it was a gift certificate, she was losing money and essentially giving the service away for free, and then tried to dictate how much I had to tip the service provider. I normally would have just left, but my friend had paid good money and I was pissed off enough to stay if only to rile her up more. The facial was great, I tipped 20% of what the service was listed at, gave it directly to the service provider in cash. Then proceeded post a review about the owners rant. Her reasoning made zero sense to me. Needless to say, the salon did not stay open very long.

im not usually the type of person to talk about these types of things but this one deeply upset me..

my boyfriend and me traveled to a city nearby since they have more malls and a variety of stores to visit, and after a good day of work we just decided to have a little outing and fun.
we decided to go into the high end bag store everybody knows (not sure if i can post the name due to the rules) at this known mall and there was two girls (employees) around our age:early 20s, one was mopping and the other one was standing there, and soon as we walked in there the one standing gave us the dirtiest up and down looks.

Now, me and my boyfriend make good money, we just don’t choose to spend in on super expensive clothes and what not all the time since our goals right now are somewhere else, but god forbid we walk into this store looking like normal people!

as we were walking around the store looking at the bags we were followed and watched from a rather short distance (i understand they want to make sure nobody steals) but i just felt very offended, even when i asked the employee questions about certain items she seemed like it was such an inconvenience!

I received an automated voicemail Friday (3 days ago) from CAR_INSPECTION_COMPANY "calling on behalf of your leasing inspection company to schedule your vehicle inspection..."

Given that it is automated, my voicemail system stopped recording it after 20 seconds, so it was an incomplete message. However, I had the 1-800 number in my call history, so I phoned them. Their automated system said I could schedule my appointment online, so I went to their website. I entered the last 8 digits of my VIN, and my phone number. I was presented with a form in which my full name, address, AND PHONE NUMBER were populated, as well as my vehicle info. The bottom of the form said: "Sorry, we are unable to schedule your account at this time. Please update your contact information and enter a comment above with your availability and you will receive a return call."

Given that there was nothing to update, I pressed Submit.

Then, I decided to phone the 1-800 number, in case I missed something. The person who answered me was half asleep, as if reading from the same script all day long. It was around 5pm, so maybe he had a long day. He would take several seconds to answer, but if I took one second to think about his question, he would immediately ask "are you still there?"

After he verified all my contact info, and repeated all the disclaimers about texting me the appointment details, he said they currently do not have any availability for appointments.

So, giving him the benefit of the doubt, I asked if this unavailability was only for this week; I asked if could tell me if he had appointments in 2, 3, 4 weeks from now. He said no. When I asked what was the point of our 15 minute conversation if they don't have any appointments, he was surprised by my question. You see, he's getting paid to do nothing, but I just lost 15 minutes of my life.

Congratulations to CAR_INSPECTION_COMPANY: you managed to take CAR_MANUFACTURER_FINANCE_DEPARTMENTS's outsourcing money and give it to your employee and make a profit while doing nothing!

So this is something I observed a few weeks back. Couldn't seem to find this subreddit again, so I hadn't posted it at the time.

I went to Chinese Fast Food Place a few towns over one weekend(?) because I enjoy it and it's the nearest one to me. When I got there, a father was letting his daughter and presumably her date go inside. I figure he's dropping them off for a date, and he's gonna sit outside until they're done. (Awkward assumption because it turned out to be his two kids.) They stand by the register waiting to pick up an order while I'm in line. I get my food and I sit down. I eat slowly watching videos on my phone. The place isn't very full or busy so I occasionally look up when I hear noises.

At one point, I look up and see the kids are still there. I'm thinking, "Man, what are they still waiting on? They didn't eat and are just loitering right?" The way they were standing seemed like they were still waiting which is crazy. I was there probably half an hour with how I was eating. Not long before I left, the man comes inside. He goes to the register and asks, "Why isn't our order ready? I've been outside half an hour when it was supposed to be ready when I got here." (From what he said, he'd set it for like 30 minutes from order time so he was waiting an hour.) The worker claimed they were still waiting on one thing. Lie. I saw every single food while I was there replaced at least once. In a nearly empty restaurant.

He looks at the food already boxed and asks, "How long has the rest been sitting here then? Is it gonna be cold?" The worker just looked at him with no words. She put one last container in the box and pushed it at him. He asked if it's everything. She just nodded and didn't check. He asked her to identify what each box is because he's not coming back after. She went box by box and, lo and behold, another box was missing. So they made it and sent him off after he had some choice words.

The workers proceeded to laugh with each other after they left, and I was so annoyed for him that I had half a mind to go tell them off myself on his behalf.

1) you wasted his family's time in a nearly empty restaurant

2) you were unprofessional in your job

3) you weren't doing your job right with their food

4) you lied on at least two occasions in front of those of us who were there

I still go back there because it's fast food and workers don't seem to last long there, but wow that ticked me off on his behalf. I had a crap Taco Smell near me in grad school. I completely get the frustration of waiting an unreasonable about of time for FAST food.

So I visited the dealership with a new-to-me car gifted by a relative, getting some minor things done. I had driven the car around town a bit for two days beforehand and had been astonished by how clean the car was. When I got the car back from the dealer, I was surprised to find white/tan grit in all the crevices of the steering wheel and column (but not on most of those surfaces, like it had been ground in then superficially wiped off). I'm confused about how this happened, and how to get it out. I am wondering if I pissed someone off somehow, and perhaps this was done on purpose (I refused an offered service). Is this a thing people do to customers they dislike?

I Was Visiting a prominent Canadian Mall On Monday July 27th, and around 12pm I purchased a book at a bookstore. As I was leaving the mall around 2:30, I split up from my family to use the washroom. I brought my book along with me. There was an issue with the toilet paper dispenser: The casing came off. I tried to reattach it, but it wouldn't fit so I kept it on the floor. As I left the store and was exiting the mall where our family car was parked, I was approached by a bearded man in green with a slight build and short dark hair, who claimed to be with Loss Prevention for the store (although he was not wearing a nametag or identification), and accused me of stealing my book. I proceeded to show him my receipt, but then he doubled down and said I deliberately broke the toilet dispenser in the bathroom and that he saw me do it (despite, of course, it being a locked stall). I walked away and my father got involved and asked for his ID, but he refused to produce any and said he had called mall security. When the two officers arrived, they asked the man the same thing and he once again refused. He was questioned separately and kept accusing me of deliberately breaking the bathroom equipment and saying he had seen me do it. He kept smirking at me and my father the whole time. The man was eventually sent back into the mall by the officers, who strongly advised us to write a complaint. They were most apologetic to us considering how unpleasant the event was, especially as someone with social anxiety and Autism.

I did some research afterwards and I even learned that Loss Preventions officer lose their jurisdiction outside the mall, which made me think it was a scammer at first, but I went to another bookstore in the chain at another mall, gave my description of the man and the manager confirmed he worked as Loss Preventions for the area. He was also extremely apologetic.

As suggested, I've filed a complaint, but I really hope this piece of shit is fired. I've certainly had my fair share of bad customer experiences like anybody but this was on another level.

Just finished at a chinese buffet. The same place I go to at least twice a month. As I’m leaving, a waitress was chasing after some couple for skipping the check. They pointed to me and said “no, probably him”. Yeah ok, because I got charged for two people when I was obviously by myself (they write the check when you’re seated).

Whatever. Camera doesn’t lie. My bank account definitely doesn’t lie. Even applied there once, they’ve got ALL my info (and they know that I’m the skinny white guy that gets at least six plates). Nice try.

I’ve been a customer with the Big Blue Payment Processor for 14 years with zero issues, but I recently ran into a customer support deadlock so absurd I’m still blown away by the logic.

I ordered a set of custom vehicle lighting online from a well-known international vendor based in France who claimed it was a direct fit. It turned out not to fit at all, and when I tried to reach out to them for a return, they completely ghosted me. I opened a dispute with the payment platform, and to their credit, they approved the return for a full refund.

That was where the sanity ended.

The return address provided by the vendor in the dispute center was missing critical street line details and had no recipient phone number. When I called support to ask how to handle it, the representative directly recommended I use a specific third-party shipping aggregator to generate the label. I went to use it, but that service rejected the address outright because it couldn't validate the street line or recipient phone number.

Mainstream international express carriers can technically process a label, but shipping an international parcel out-of-pocket costs well over $200, which exceeds what I paid for the lights in the first place.

So I called support back and spent hours pushing through multiple tiers of phone reps until I finally landed on two separate senior managers. I wasn't just dealing with an automated bot or an algorithm blindly enforcing rules, these were actual human managers directly reviewing my case. Both of them looked at the unusable address, agreed that the formatting was broken and lacked required info, and then told me there was nothing they could do.

Their official resolution? I either had to pay well north of $200 out-of-pocket to ship a package that is practically guaranteed to get hung up or rejected in French customs, or let the dispute deadline pass and forfeit my refund entirely. They explicitly refused to adapt the case, issue a waiver, or override the tracking requirement.

When I pointed out that they were actively enabling a bad merchant to trap buyers out of refunds by accepting incomplete return details, they basically shrugged over the phone.

I’ve officially filed a formal complaint with regulatory agencies to force an executive review, but it's mind-boggling that two senior managers looked at an impossible requirement and decided that losing a loyal 14-year customer was preferable to overriding a bad vendor address.

My sister passed away in June 2024. She fought cancer for 15 years and went through enormous struggles.

She and her husband were married for almost 45 years.

A local funeral home was in charge of her funeral. Her husband picked out the tombstone, paid in full, up front for it. We were told they couldn't set it until the ground settled, then we were told they couldn't because it was too cold since it was December by then. It took 8 months when they finally got the tombstone and they set it. We were shocked to see her name was spelled wrong, they even left off the last letter on her maiden name and the font size was much smaller than her husband's name. Their excuse " there wasn't enough room". My brother in law called them and told them he wanted it fixed and they said they'd fix it. Weeks would go by and nothing, he'd call again and kept being told "I'll tell him (the owner) you called". He even stopped by to talk to him and he wasn't there so he'd get the same "I'll let him know" by the receptionist. Me, mom, and my other sister have all called also.

I'm so mad and upset with this because my sister deserved so much better. I've been reading where other people have had similar problems. I did fill out a form today on the better business bureau but I could only do a review since its been over a year.

Just went through the most infuriating experience with customer service for a rather large TV company, and this could easily be shared between r/Vent or here, but definitely going to here first.  I bought a 65" Select Series 4K LED HDR TV (model number 65R4C4 - that is how many times I had to call, I actually remembered the MODEL number) from a retail store in March for my new house.  I was all amped to get it out and put it up and watch TV at my new place with my wife.  The next thing I know, I get the TV unboxed and the corners of the screen are shattered.  This was no more than a few days past the return window (was maybe a week into April) so they told me to try to speak with the manufacturer in regards to the warranty.

Such a painful experience all around.

I start calling the manufacturer, the first time around it took about four calls just to get a TV shipped out.  The first call my wife placed, and supposedly that person was going to ship it out.  Didn't happen.  We kept calling with about a week and a half to a couple weeks of time in between calls to allow for them to actually ship it to us and get us the tracking information.  Never happened.  The fourth call for just the first replacement I got a hold of another product specialist who said that "the TV was stuck" in the process, but had fixed the issue and we would be getting it soon.  Great, grand!

About a week later it gets to my house.  Unbox it and everything.  The screen is COMPLETELY shattered to the point it's not even remotely usable.  Alright, you-know-what happens, I'll live.  Contact them again and told them that it arrived shattered.  Same debacle all over again.  I call and tell them I got a broken TV, and they say "Ok, we'll get you another one" and never do.  Three weeks later, and several calls in between, I finally get TV #2.  That TV also was trashed, arguably worse.  I literally spent about the next two months to get a THIRD television sent.  It required arguing with the shipping company (the manufacturer was convinced that they were the reason that I kept getting damaged televisions) and getting a couple denied claims in the process for damaged packages, as well as arguing with "product specialists" on both chat (which every last one of them used the most infuriating canned responses, I've done chat customer service and REFUSED to stoop to that level) and phone, and filing two different complaints with the Better Business Bureau (one filed by myself, and the other was my wife), but then they were willing to actually send me a third TV.

During all these times I've called and chatted, the reps would routinely ask for the original receipt (which had a different address than what I have now), and I sent it at least a good twenty times.  Never did I provide them permission to send a tv there, but lo-and-behold they did.  The TV arrived on July 8, they didn't tell me until July 16 (during a heatwave mind you).  Turns out THAT television actually works...  that was my mom's house but the TV is too big to fit in my car.  They shipped out another to MY house two days later after calling and fighting with ANOTHER representative on both phone AND chat.

A little over three months of this torture, and 4 TV's later, finally got to a TV that worked.  Was it the delivery company?  Not sure, but I find it a little convenient this and the one that was sent to the wrong address was sent from a different warehouse than the first two.

No matter how many times I asked in this process for a manager, was NEVER allowed to talk to one.  Same canned, generic responses literally every single time.  NEVER got the feeling any of them actually cared.

Horrible experience there tonight.
All I wanted to do was get the order that I already paid for in full as documented on the receipt on my phone and yet when I got there, there was no food and the guy was not really interested in looking at the receipt on my phone and just drugged and said well we have no order and no you can’t contact anybody else in the company to like get your money back and then finally he says oh well do you have a receipt? I just showed the receipt on my phone. He says like your bank account. I said you want to see my bank account? Yes. Well, you could probably imagine I never show my bank account to anybody, but I looked down at my phone thinking if it’s gonna get me food and my family is hungry and I don’t have stuff at home ready to cook and I specifically planned to get takeout tonight I’m gonna take in my bank account for this guy. I looked down on my phone and start searching and I say one word. Quietly. “Wow”.
Well, he says you’re being really disrespectful and I’m gonna refuse your service and you can leave. I could feel the aggression. And the same time I was so shocked I said, how am I being disrespectful to you? All you’re giving me attitude, he says.
Well, I am like at least four times the age of this guy, I don’t do attitude. He says you should really respect the people who make your food. I thought OK I know what this means. This means if I don’t respect you, you’re going to spit in my food? I said because again now, shocked, “excuse me? “
He repeats it. Then he goes on to engage me in a long conversation/argument about how I’m so disrespectful and how I should respect the people who make their food.
I don’t know what training program the Poké restaurant since their place to, but I’m suspecting… none? I asked how do I contact Steve. This guy gave me no and I mean zero options as to how to resolve the situation. But after pretty much giving me the impression he was ready to call the cops, definitely refusing to fully entertain they receipt I had on my phone detailing all the food I bought, and the price and the statement that said it was ready and the time it said it was going to be ready to pick up, and telling me how disrespectful I was and that I was giving him an attitude and refusing to give me any contact information for anybody in the company and any option for refund, I did what was the only thing left, and that was turn on my heel and walk towards the door. And then he calls out after me and says if you show me your receipt, I’ll give you the food.
OK, so he really just wanted me to be For I guess. I said nothing. I went out to the car and delivered the news to my family that there was no food, and just let me say the evening went way downhill after that. So my recommendation is if you’d like to have a nice takeout experience and you’re willing to pay for your food in advance and get in your old car and drive down there and even tip them.. isn’t that hilarious? And then be yourself so disrespected and dismissed. And when you ask, how do I contact Steve, have the guy just shrug, lift his lip and say “I just work here”- if you are not into that, I suggest you do not go to “there”. I thought I would share this.

tldr; therapy company accidentally gives me access to somebody elses account, I try to fix it, customer service is unhelpful, I join a different therapy service instead.

So I was looking for a new therapist and decided to sign up for a well known company. I'll call it H. I got the confirmation email to complete signup and access my new account. Well when I went to my new profile to finish filling everything out, I discovered somebody elses name, address, insurance, and phone number, AND the therapist they use. I reached out to the support team, and they told me (in the most corporate speak possible) to just use the account. They even told me I could switch all the info to MY name and insurance.

So just to be clear. I somehow got into somebody else's account, saw their confidential information, and customer service tells me to hijack the account completely????

Of course I told them I wasn't comfortable with this, and would rather start my own account from scratch. They locked the persons account I somehow ended up in, but my email is still attached to it therefore I can't use that email to start a new account. This email is my primary email. The email I use for all doctors appointment, dmv, bills, schooling, EVERYTHING. The service rep then abruptly ended the complaint ticket, giving me no way to continue the conversation, and forcing me to start a new one. I decided not to.

Fortunately the therapist I had been in communication with also works through a different company. Which I immediately ran into errors with. Their confirmation email wouldn't go through so I called their customer service. They found some kind of error with their system, but eventually were able to set up my first appointment with the dr.

I swear it's as if the universe doesn't want me to go to therapy.

So I have a date tonight and was planning on going to my barber first thing in the morning to get a fresh cut. I arrive at the barber's and he's not there. Basically my barber shares a spot with 2 other barbers and those barbers only take appointments when mine didn't. So I ended up searching for the nearest barber near me, and when I arrive there the place is closed. However online it clearly said it was open. I then search for the next barber and drive there. I arrive and see someone standing at the door. The place says it's been open for 2 hours but it's clearly closed. I ask the guy at the door if he works there and he says he's also waiting. He calls the barber and says he'll be there in a few minutes. The barber arrives with his friends and takes them before me despite me arriving first. This place does not take appointments by the way. I decide to wait, but the guy takes 20 minutes just to set up, and then he spends over an hour cutting this guy's hair. There were also 2 people ahead of me after that. What the hell! The guy literally did a 0 on the sides and took like 40 minutes just to shave his head. At this point it's been over an hour of waiting so I book an appointment at another barber online who was expensive but at least I got a spot. I arrive at this other barber and wait an hour despite having an appointment. He cuts way too much off the top despite me saying I wanted just a little off. I still gave him a tip even with the price being so high and he didn't even appreciate it.

I went to a local farmers market this weekend which is something I genuinely enjoy. I like supporting small creators, artists, local vendors and growers and don’t mind paying a premium price for something that was small batch because it’s important to me.
I came upon a pickling stand and they had all sorts of varieties of pickles, something I also enjoy. I saw that they had pickled cauliflower, which was a jar of mostly cauliflower rather than the mix you usually see. Score for me. The vendor said that they have samples of everything and if I would like to try anything to just ask, I said I would love to try a sample of the cauliflower. She handed me a sample cup and I looked down in it and there was a piece of cauliflower in there, not even the size of a pea. I smiled and I’m not going to lie I felt a little silly reaching into the sample cup to pinch out with my two fingers, a little tiny piece of cauliflower and place it into mouth like a little mouse nibbling on cheese. The only flavor I got was a very sharp vinegar bite and not much cauliflower at all. Now I can understand why they would give out small samples because that is directly eating into your product and your profit, however receiving such a small sample made me feel like I didn’t get a good taste of the product, and honestly made me kind of annoyed. I guess why offer the sample if you’re worried about people taking too much? Am I being a Karen for feeling a little annoyed? It’s a free sample, and by all means I had every intention of purchasing that jar of cauliflower totally blind up until the moment I was given that sample. I’m probably being uppity, but what do the people think?

I just went to the nail salon, I paid for myself my daughter nails and toes & my husbands and sons pedicure. I received a call about 2 hours later saying they undercharged me by $30. On the receipt none of the correct services are listed they just put manicure on everything which none of us received and 2 ppl who didn’t service us rang me up & the person who did my nails handed them the total on a piece of paper and they still apparently got it wrong. Then they asked me to Zelle them the rest of the money. I think it’s highly unprofessional to call someone after you service them asking for more money if I was the salon I would just take the loss. I told them that is unprofessional and as of this moment have not sent them anything. I already paid them $270 today for our services which was crazy to begin with but you have the nerve to ask for more because you made a mistake.

I work at a privately owned store and today on my break I bought a large cold brew coffee (the large glass bottles). We're always encouraged to get a paid sticker on items we buy during our working days which I did. Since the work environment is always very untrusting, I also took the receipt and wrapped it around the bottle. It stuck right to it from the condensation. At the end of my shift I needed a few groceries for dinner and as I got to a cashier to check out I lifted the bottle of cold brew from my basket with my paid sticker and receipt and mentioned that I paid for this during my break to the cashier. (The previous cashier left for the day). Everything seemed to go well at first when she scanned all my items, I went to pay at the kiosk and as I was typing in my pin she quickly grabbed the bottle from the basket I was carrying and said I just want to bag this for you. Sorry. Then she read what it was out loud and placed it into my bag. I felt that this was very inappropriate. She is a fellow co-worker in her 50's or early 60's and even though I don't know her well we've shared small conversation and greet each other daily. To me it felt as though she was untrusting and I don't understand why she wouldn't have just asked if I wanted it bagged. It was a very quick grab from my basket. I was hoping to get someone's opinion on this. Should I mention this to a manager? We are always encouraged that if we see something, say something. When someone actually catches something from one of the customers it's publicly displayed on the employee social media type work website even if nothing is found and occasionally it's brought up during meetings. My concern is that even though I have proof of my purchase and showed her this, that she might accuse me of stealing with our managers and though it will obviously be proven that I did not I believe this type of accusation does not look good for anyone.

I'm perplexed but I also feel bad because of her getting annoyed at me.

This was as a visitor to Korea, the older staff tend to be like this, like no hello, good bye, thank you, that can be hit and miss but this frustrated me a bit:

Bought some items plus a single coffee that was above the label 990KRW price. At the till she says 1+1 in english as that's how they say it in Korean.

So I signal oh ok and to go back and get it.

She gets annoyed and starts saying things as if she doesn't want me to go get it, so i wait by the till and she gets more annoyed.

I was so confused, I showed that I wanted it. So am I bad? should I be scolded for not knowing something?

When another staff came behind her, she stopped repeating the same thing with the angry tone and switched her words and went soft.

So I was at a store with my mother, brother and daughter today and when we were checking out the employee picked up something and looked at me and said it belonged to a set and told me to go back and get the other pieces. It wasn't a big store but I had no idea where it came from because I was not with my mom when she found it and she was the one buying stuff, so I don't know why the employee was even telling me specifically to begin with. I was happy to help though so I tried to ask where it was and the employee would not tell me, so my mom went ahead with my brother to go look for the other pieces.

As we waited for them to return, the employee kept giving me this intense, aggressive stare as she scanned the items that made me very uncomfortable. I tried to pretend I didn't notice and just casually chatted with my daughter, but the lady's stare was clearly making her uncomfortable too. Before they returned she found another item that was missing a lid and told me to go find the lid. I asked her again to tell me where it was so I could look and she just kept telling me to go get it and not answering me. My mother and brother returned and told her there were no other pieces to the first set left.

The employee kept staring at me and once again told me to go get the lid. My brother quickly volunteered to find it and the employee again just kept staring at me and demanding I go get the lid EVEN THOUGH my brother was already looking for it. I told her again I don't know where to look and she just kept staring at me with these crazy eyes as my mother was trying to check out. My mother noticed and told her it was okay that my brother was looking, but she just kept staring at me!

My brother returned and said there were no lids. The employee kept staring at me and AGAIN told me to get the lid. I said again I don't know where to look and my brother already checked anyway. She finally went "OH MY GOD!" and threw her hands up and shook her head at my mother like I was some spoiled child not minding and she couldn't believe I wouldn't just obediently do as she said.

The next part though was kinda funny because as we started gathering our bags my daughter noticed some of our stuff was still on the conveyer. The employee was so busy staring me down and trying to boss me around she didn't even ring up all our items! I pointed and announced LOUDLY so all the people behind us could hear that she did not finish ringing us up. She seemed like she was trying not to show she was embarrassed as she finished scanning our items, but kept looking at me as we gathered our things and walked towards the door. At this point I was fully giving her a solid glare right the frick back to let her know I was not intimidated by her and her behavior was not okay. As we walked out the door her staring had become little more than a few meek glances with her head turned down. So hopefully that meant she realized just how completely unprofessional she was being.

Looking back I kinda wish I'd told the manager because my whole family was super uncomfortable and weirded out by that and obviously that's no way to treat a customer. Especially because she was so busy trying to have a power trip over me she didn't even do her actual job properly and almost let us go without part of our order! I feel like as soon as I walked up she deliberately targeted me for some reason and I don't understand why she kept telling me to go look for the items when other people were already doing so and I asked her like 3 times to tell me where they were and she would not tell me. And just... STARING at me like she was gonna beat the snot outta me if I didn't do as she said. Ignoring my mother as she was trying to talk to her and pay for her stuff and barking orders at me like I'm some kid even though I'm a grown a** 40 year old adult! Like wtf?!???

1 rule, don't name companies. Here goes. Recently I "upgraded" my home phone line and internet service. I was told I had to upgrade the phone line because it was being phased out. I was told the new internet service is faster and costs less. Nightmare began with install 2 weeks ago. Internet ok but phone no longer works. I've had ph# 31 years and want to keep a land line. After 2 weeks a new tech came up. However he said CSR wrote it up as an internet issue. He couldn't fix it. Told me to call and tell them they need to rip & rebuild. Since that time I've spoken to many reps advising they can fix it. Phone was working 1 day but its down again. I was told to call Monday to ask for help. Monday marks 21 days with no phone service. I'm receiving calls asking for payment and marketing as if I need a mobile phone. Today I realized I can't see my local channels. I was advised my IP address lists me in a state approximately 400 miles away. I'm now waiting for a callback (1.5 hours) for assistance with with my ip address/location. This is a nightmare company. I will spent the next few days researching alternative providers. I'm furious.
