Discussion John Nolan ability to pull women without doing anything

I watched episode one (I think).

Really enjoyed it.

However, John Nolan, whilst certainly above average looking is no Don Draper. Yet he in the first episode) not only had a fellow colleague who looked 15 years his younger throw herself at him, he also had a mid 20s Bar maid literlly stalk him whilst he was sitting at a bar.

Is this a theme, he is a attractive guy, and he comes across as likable. Maybe women working on shift for a while grow to really be attracted to him.

But he seems to skip all that and just get women throwing themselves at him, with no context within seconds of meeting him.

He does not even look 40, mid 40s minimum, do not get me throw, very good for his age. But really?

Is this a theme throughout the show he has women throw themselves at him within minutes of meeting him?

Discussion What do you think Juicy was arrested for?

Dim was obviously arrested for the drugs, but surely they couldn't prove Juicy had done anything illegal? Since Lopez mentioned she was gonna make sure to get the 3rd buddy of the real Dim and Juicy of the street, so that he couldn't expose Tim and Lucy being undercover. I think it's valuable to talk about what happened to the real Juicy. What do you think? What did they arrest her for? Did she go free?

Season 1 Captain Anderson Spoiler

I’ve only watched the first season when it had just finished airing, and I’ve started over to binge the series. I love the captain and her chemistry with Nolan (not that it’s hard with Nathan Fillion). Just realized which episode I’m on (literally took them being poolside) and it sucks man. Love Mercedes Mason the actress as well and it’s been nice seeing her outside The Finder. I know I’ve used the spoiler thing but I still feel awkward saying too much lol but it’s a bad call! Stupid writers.. funny thing is earlier in the episode Jackson made a comment about how the trio would never split up and I made a joke to myself cuz I know what happens there. I don’t really mind it with him, but the captain for whatever reason bothers me. Anywho, unpausing now

Season 1 Here's the thing about Talia... Spoiler

I want her back.

On another rerun of the Rookie until Se 9 drops. Man she's so good, character and actress.

Was watching the 'Roundup' episode where T.O.s compete to see who gets the most felony arrests in a shift. Right out the bat, she says she isn't playing. Says to Nolan , 'When you become a T.O., you can play as you like.'

I was just thinking, if only the actress and producers could put the past to bed, it would be so awesome to have Talia back. She'd be so proud of what Nolan has become but in her own, female version of Tim Bradford but with more kindness way.

The reunion. Can we please make that happen ? Pretty Please ?

Edit : Guys on Twitter, use this Hashtag on the official page of the actors/producers/show/Nathan Fillion/ Afton Williamson. Let's make them hear what we fans want !! We don't care if it's just for an episode.

Discussion We need another spinoff

So while the Rookie feds didn’t work out and the Rookie north is coming next year, I feel like they’re missing the most obvious idea for a new spinoff. Young Smitty, it could be set it in the mid 90s as Smitty is coming through as a young rookie, they could even have the same actor play him

Season 8 Does anyone else feel like Lucy is a but hypocritical in the way she wants Tim to treat her at the workplace? Spoiler

I am specifically talking about S8 EP11 where she says that she doesn't need boyfriend Tim right now, she needs workplace Tim. So he does exactly that and orders her as her commanding officer to spend the rest of shift in the station.

What does she do? She rejects her bosses orders and goes out on patrol. If this was any other officer, Bradford would have tore into them. Tim treated Lucy like any other employee and she still treated him like he was just a boyfriend and disobeyed direct orders.

It seems that she wants Tim to act according to her convenience and when he actually does she starts acting like a spoilt brat and disobeys direct orders.

Discussion About Bailey

To be honest i really liked Bailey when she was initally introduced in season 3 because I thought the story of how her and Nolan met was wholesome imo. In fact when I noticed majority of the fanbase happen to strongly dislike her I couldnt understand why. Though upon rewatching the show I kind of see it now. I personally dislike how the writers made her so perfect like someone who is a firefighter, emt, army reserve, etc. Even though the show is not meant to be taken seriously i think this was a bad idea giving somoene "superhero" status. Plus i dont like how she is everywhere, i know shes Nolan's wife but being a firefighter first I feel she should only be in scenarios that really need a firefighter, not otherwise. Like with Grace I understood her being in the scenes that she was in because her being a doctor and thinking rationally, cops can get injured anytime anywhere so they would naturally require medical attention, but a firefighter going to Prague for a non fire related mission? Im not sure about that.

I also noticed a lot of people said that Nolan and Bailey dont have chemistry which I also initally disagreed with but after re-watching the show I get what they mean. Might just be me but it feels a lot like Nolan is doing the heavy lifting to keep this marriage together in terms of supporting one another and just being a good partner and husband. I do think Grace and Nolan had better chemistry maybe because for one they had known each other since college and so likely had a lot of things in common and their chemsitry felt more organic than bailey and nolan, though i understand the actress who plays Grace got a role in another show so I understand why they wrote her off. I even like Nolan and Genny (Tim' sister), because for one they have plenty in common already (having been divorced before, having kids) and plus from a writer's standpoint imagine a story where Tim, Lucy and Nolan are all related somewhat. that I would be very excited to see, and also Tim's reaction to Nolan dating his sister.

And then there is the whole Malvado incident, this is where i think I started to really not like Bailey and its kind of sticked throughout her character. I feel she could have dealt with the situation in a better way, i understand she did it to save herself from her ex husband and that every character has commited a crime in the show before but the problems i see are two fold (shes' married to a cop and a very competent one at that who has shown to be more than capable of protecting his loved ones and making him out to be the one whos wrong? Im not so sure about that) and (unlike Tim, Wesley, Nyla, Nolan, Lucy, she never faced any consequences for her actions (crminal conspiracy, accesory to murder after the fact and obstruction of justice) and so the show went on as if it never happen, thats i think why Bailey grinds so many people's gears. If the writers showed her being punished in some way and her growing from it as a characters Im very confident she would be more liked today.

What should the writers do

Honeslty I see two very straightforward options:

Write her off: The show's fanbase has consistently voiced their dislike for her and if the writers do actually read their concerns perhaps they can write her off the show be it divorcing Nolan or her having a hero's death (the second one seems more plausible and appropriate for her type of character), and with Jenna Dewan aparently joining DWTS for the next season this might be a good oppurtunity to do that.

Improve her character: Honeslty I think a great way to improve Bailey is well to first go to therapy, her having a pathological need for movement according to Nolan is actually quite accurate since she has so many jobs perhaps its a coping mechanism from her past marriage which i understand but we have since Tim and Aaron go to therpy and expereince actual character growth so this migth be the best frist step for her. Also her having some beilivable flaws that are relatable to the audeince may go a long way in her being more liked since the whole Super Bailey thing is far too unrealistic and just i think rubs people the wrmg way, and i also think she should face some consequences for the Malvado storyline, we have seen with Seth that a character can be punished for something that they did a while ago (when Lucy and TIm questioned him about the forest fire incident), and that way Bailey perhaps could learn to ask for help from Nolan or the station or whatever rather than resorting to such extreme measures.

Would like to know your thoughts.

Like, I don't know about you guys, but this has popped into my head for a while. Seth's entire arc in season 8 was about him finally facing the consequences for his lying and becoming genuinely honest, even at the cost of his career with the police. He's accepted the fact that his lies had consequences and there are some doors he can't reopen.

But then...what would happen if he found out the guy gave whose trust he worked hard to win back, the same officers who closed the door on him, were covering secrets of their own.

Bradford's military secret is something that is still kept secret from the public. He never faced consequence for it. Having the guy who FACED the consequences of his own lies find out in some way opens the doors for potential. Will Seth expose the secret? Or will he go back on his honesty and LIE for the people who demanded him absolute truth?

What do you guys think?

Season 7 Everyone got it wrong Spoiler

Lots of people said that Seth got fired for lying. Well they are wrong. He wasn't fired for lying, he was fired for refusing to do a blood test. He was already going to get fired for refusing the blood test, whether he was telling the truth or not

what year is the rookie in because Nolan graduates the fto program at the start of season 4 but they became rookies in 2018 he was a rookie for 13 months so season one through the start of season 4 is 13 months but then Thorsen starts in season 4 and graduates in season 5 meaning season 4 is one year because the fto program is 12 months but then Celina start in season 5 and doesn't graduate until season 7 so are the in 2021, 2022, or 2026.

Season 8 Rodge

Unpopular but I actually really like Rodge and I think him and Celina make a cute couple.

Still think Dash got wayyyy too much screen time though.

Season 8 [SPOILERS] do yall agree? Spoiler

I just finished watching the rookie season eight I absolutely love chenford and they were definitely my favourite storyline to follow. I’ve always been a huge fan of the rookie up until about season six or I felt it started to become unrealistic and then things like the boat raid in the finale of season eight releases that sort of pissed me off don’t get me wrong I was super excited to see Tim proposed to Lucy but feel so so so letdown that they had to be a little plot twist they could’ve just started fresh for season nine. I want to know if anybody else feels, I think it’s hard to understand, but uncomfortable?

Let me know what you all think cause I need some solitude 🤣

Discussion I can't hate Patrice

Everytime Patrice is mentioned without being in screen, she seems to be an annoying-elitist-racist old lady, but every episode she appears she seems chill??

About Angela, the baby, the marriage, the kids when they grow, she is (as I said) chill and acceptive with the others' choices

And it's not like she's pretending, she doesn't know she's being recorded/being in a show

I just think the writers should make her character more consistent, as annoying as people talk about her or just nice
