Posted this a while back and some folks seemed interested, so I thought I'd offer an update. She seems pretty happy, and the fruit reflects that well and deliciously.

Also, I don't usually name my plants, but since she's the only one, help me pick a good name for her? At this point she's more of a pet anyway.

After the crazy summer of heat waves, crazy rainfall and hoards of bugs we had, my Purple Cherokees and Golden Jubilees made it through with some scars to show 🥹

Considering I can only grow these in pots with having a concrete patio and no land to grow directly into, I'm happy with the harvests I've been getting 🥲

About 20 total with the night's bounty. 🐛🐛🐛

This is what my Wilber cages look like with 30-45 days left in my growing season. These are 7’ cages. I should have shot this yesterday before I picked 85 lbs of slicers, oxheart, and paste, so you could see ripe fruit. It’s about to rain here for a week starting tomorrow so I’m furiously picking everything at first blush.

Can anyone please identify the heirloom variety of these cherry or grape tomatoes? They are the most delicious that I’ve ever grown and want to label the seeds I’m saving properly. Thanks in advance, garden sages!!

Honestly im just proud and want to show off and none of my friends garden.

My tomato plant has been slowly dying from the bottom up, and because it’s produced a few hundred tomatoes at this point, my more horticulturally-experienced friend suspects it’s nearing the end of its life.

It’s still producing normal fruit (for the most part), but now it’s begun pushing out a few gross, dusty-looking tomatoes. I don’t intend to eat the gross ones, but I want to see if they’ll try to ripen at all or if they’re doomed to stay a crusty greyish brown. I’m not looking for solutions or anything at this point, just sharing, but I’m down to hear explanations or theories if you’ve got any.

The tomatoes in the last pic are growing from a vine that sprouted from the end of a tomato truss, which I guess could be a contributing factor to the weirdness, but otherwise it’s just a normal Juliet tomato I picked up as an impulse buy back in March from a big-box hardware store. 9b.

Oh Canada, a Karen Olivier tomato. This one was big but, to my surprise, only weighed 1.1 pound.

Amalfi F1 hybrid grown in central MA (zone 6A). A San Marzano type but a determinate growth habit. 4 of these were grown in 3 gallon fabric grow bags and the other 2 plants in 15 gallon fabric grow bags. No major differences in production between those container sizes for anyone who’s curious. This was my first time growing tomatoes and I’m very happy with these. Once they fully ripen they will be gifted to my mom and my grandmother to can for the season.

TLDR at bottom.

I started 3 plants of Matt's Wild Cherry Tomatoes. I kept one to grow, gave one to my Mom and one to my sister in law. They all used the same fertilizer in the hole and the same eggshell powder that I provided. The only difference is I fertilized mine a few times with Tiger's Blood from Fox Farms and they say they did not. We all live within a two minute walk from one another. All the plants have the same growing pattern and leaf style (they all have small leaves and a tendency towards vining).

The issue is this; now that the fruit have been coming in, mine are all teeny tiny. Like ranging from smaller than a pea to smaller than a marble. The package says Matt's Wild Cherry should be marble sized or slightly larger. My Mom and sister in laws plants' fruit are normal Cherry sized. Maybe SLIGHTLY smaller, I would say from a marble size to a large marble or medium grape. I thought it was first fruit at first, because mine set fruit before theirs, but no. It continues to produce these teeny tiny tomatoes by the 100's.

They are a pain to harvest, but my coworkers love them! They call them "tomato boba" lol because they are very juicy and sweet. They are a nice size for pasta salad and salad without having to cut them at all. I dont have a problem, necessarily, Im just curious how this can happen from the same seed packet!

TLDR: 3 plants started in the same conditions, from the same seed packet and grown in the same area, and one has extremely tiny fruit size while the others remain normal. Why would this be?

Big Rainbow is new to me this year. Wonderful flesh texture, perfectly juicy, solid tomato flavour, lower acid, and I love how the streaks of red came through as a crimson core.

Also new is the spicy globe basil with its tiny leaves and flowers that pack a punch! It's like it topiaries itself as it grows!

Or something else? Just picked these off the vine. These were in a container, so I wouldn’t expect blight.

Either way I have a deep hatred for whatever it is. This year's crop of tomatoes in my garden have been so bad due to stuff like this!

So my mother, because she was bored, went to a farmers market for the first time ever... And she brought home 2 boxes of tomatoes.

My goodness, these tomatoes are sour and tangy and they taste tomatoey! Nothing like the organic stuff I get from trader joes/whole foods/etc.

Can yall suggest me what type of tomato to get that has the most tomatoey flavor? Not farmers markets, but rather grocery stores like the ones above or meijer, kroger, lidl, aldi, etc.?

First time grower. Is this BER, blight, or something else entirely? Every single tomato is affected.

Hey! I got this tomato plant from my local library's plant and seed exchange, it was unlabelled and i'm starting to suspect it's a green when ripe variety which would require some extra help to figure out harvest time!

info: big thick bush plant, roughly 3 feet cubed. The fruit i am holding is about as big as they get and is the oldest fruit on her. Got her 04/28 at roughly 20cm of height and the picture is taken 09/01. Growing in northern sweden. It has been on a second storey balcony for most of the summer to get some good sun, however the colder climate means tomatoes tend to grow slowly for me. One fruit has split (likely from my own watering timing) and another has gotten bored into by a bug. It is still flowering on other branches.

I'm going to try and pick the oldest fruit soon to taste test as it is fruiting very heartily but i am curious what the variety might be so i can prepare better, thank you in advance!
