I have a 2003 Tacoma with OME 881 and nitro charger for around 1.5 inches of front lift and Dakar leaf pack in the rear so I’m having about a 3 inch rake. I was going to get bilstiens and use the 881 and bilstien 5100 on the second clip for close to 3 inches of front lift I think, I also bought the freedom off-road UCA to correct geometry. Would it be better to use a 1/2 inch spacer instead of preloading the shock? My goal is the level my truck and run 285/75/16

Tomorrow I'm looking at a 2015 Tacoma SR 4wd that's for sale. It's an Access Cab with a 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission. It has 24,000 miles. Recently the owner had new tires installed, a new battery, and a fresh oil change. It was driven by an elderly gentleman. It's totally stock from what I can tell. He has the clean title in hand. What are some important things to check out when I see the truck/test drive it?

I'm curious what everyone thinks about upgrading the factory head unit on a Tacoma.

For those who have replaced their factory radio, what matters most to you?

1. Sound quality
2. Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto
3. Keeping the factory backup camera
4. Keeping steering wheel controls
5. Better screen / larger display
6. Easy plug-and-play installation

I'm especially interested in hearing from 2nd- and 3rd-gen Tacoma owners.

What did you upgrade to, and what do you wish you had known before replacing the factory radio?

Short answer: it’s pretty dank

Long answer: So far I’ve been pretty happy with the Topper Tent. It’s really easy to set up and take down, which is a huge plus when you’re trying to get camp set up without spending forever messing with everything.
My biggest complaint so far is definitely the amount of Velcro. There’s a LOT of it, and it gets kinda annoying having to deal with all of it every time. I’ll probably end up modifying mine eventually to make it easier to set up and take down without relying on so much Velcro.
As far as rain goes, the tent doesn’t seal everything out completely, but honestly neither does the Softopper. I had a little bit of water get in during some rain, but it was nothing crazy at all. Definitely wasn’t flooding or anything — just a tiny bit of water that I noticed. So if you’re expecting it to be completely waterproof, that’s probably something to keep in mind.
Overall though, I really like it. It’s easy to use, makes camping out of the Tacoma way more convenient, and for me the few downsides aren’t deal breakers. I’ll probably make a couple little mods down the road to get rid of some of the Velcro and make it even easier to use.

Just got my first tacoma 2 days ago - 99 2.7 - but the muffler needs to be replaced. Any recommendations here? I would prefer direct bolt on. Any help would be great, thanks!

I'm just short enough that running boards might be nice. I'm also not getting any younger(60). My wife also gets black marks on the back of her calves from road oil and dirt at the bottom of the door frame.

Someone posted last week about the floor vent extenders, and I thought that was a great idea. Those weren't long enough though, and I wanted them directed upwards so here's my version. These are on my '15 OR, but I test fit them on my colleague's '23 and the OEM vents are identical so they should fit most if not all 3rd gens too. Likely other Toyota models as well. You'll need to print in ABS or ASA, PLA or PETG won't stand up to the heat.

The dealership called last Friday and said my claim got approved. Dropped off the car Monday to get repainted, they gave me a 4th gen Tacoma as a loaner, which drives soo smooth…..

They did say that the CSP Paint peeling program is set to expire 1/18/28 just a fyi. Im happy that I was able to get this approved and only took around 2 months.

Kept trying to get ahold of the manager at Kirkland (wa) Toyota until I just went in person. They eventually said they just don’t do it there. Isn’t that your job to figure it out? They said it was because they don’t have a body shop, but online it seems like other dealerships have just used external body shops. He said I have to find one that has a body shop but didn’t know of any in the state. I’ll have to call around since I’m sure that’s wrong. How has this experience gone for others?

I have a 2020 trd-sport Tacoma that’s bone stock. I want to put a lift and bigger wheels on it. I’m thinking about a 4-5 inch lift with king suspension and like 34” tires. Any recommendations on lift kits, suspension kits, tires? I’m very new to this and would like to see peoples opinions. I don’t care about gas mileage really just want to get to fishing spots easier and make it look better

I live in Whittier CA and I need some oem led headlights installed on my 2023 Tacoma . Does anyone know of shops in Southern California that could do this work that work on Toyotas. Thanks

So im narrowing down my replacement CV axles. Has anyone had any luck with Napa extended-travel CV axles?

If so, how did they hold up? Were they worth it?

Hello taco’s , finalky got my sr5 and loving it. Mine came with fabric seats, how are you protecting it? I do some farm work and deal with mud and dirty clothes, i was looking for some seat covers but didn’t find any convincing. Any suggestions please. Would really appreciate it. Could have gone with leather but out of my budget :(. Looking for something around $500 or less, easy install

At my 70k service appt, the dealership mentioned that I needed to get my system resealed due to a timing cover leak. We found out that its covered by the extended warranty which was great, so we moved forward with the repairs.
