Hey everyone,

​I recently upgraded from a Ninja 400 to a Street Triple RS. I made the switch because everything I read said naked bikes are "more fun at street speeds" and more practical for real-world riding.

​However, I’m finding myself in a weird spot and I’m wondering if my expectations were just totally off.

​The RS is an incredible machine, but I feel like it’s a bit of a contradiction. The engine is so refined and fast that it constantly wants to be pushed, but because there’s zero wind protection, sustaining 80+ mph for more than 10 minutes feels like a total chore. On my Ninja, I could just tuck and the wind wasn't an issue. On this, I feel like I'm fighting the bike to enjoy the engine.

​I bought a naked bike specifically because I thought it would be more engaging at lower speeds, but this bike feels like it needs to go fast to be "in the zone"—except it doesn't have the fairings to make that speed comfortable

. ​Am I missing the "sweet spot" of this bike? ​Does anyone else feel like the RS is "too much" of a race bike for its naked ergonomics?

​For those who came from sportbikes, how did you adjust to the wind blast without hating the highway? ​Is there a way to make this bike feel "fun" at 45–60 mph, or is it always going to feel like it's begging for a track?

​I really want to love this thing because the tech and handling are world-class, but right now it feels like I’m trying to use a scalpel as a hammer. Any advice or perspective would be appreciated.

Of all the letdown announcements, this one takes the cake.

Fun little vid of a valve adjustment we performed this week on a ‘14 Daytona 675. Love the adjustable cam wheels, this design really helps get the cams back in perfect time. The loss in power and throttle snap is so gradual over time, you don’t really notice it until the valves and cams are tuned again. The exhaust valves were way out of spec on this (28xxx) miles, runs WAY better now.

Last year I bought a T120 Black brand new. I got everything I wanted on it. It's totally paid off and it's so much fun, but...

Ultimately, I wish I had bought and Speed Triple 1200 RR. I love the looks on those bikes so much. I used to go sit on one while I was bike shopping. Now I'm debating if I keep my T120 or try to find someone to trade. I don't feel like the dealerships will trade fairly.

If anyone has had both, I'd like to hear your opinions.

UPDATE - Turns out the bike is a KTM used for this jump shot and it was dressed to stay consistent with the triumph in the rolling shots. Glad I asked, cheers for the quick answers!

I bought the scrambler 400 as my first motorcycle in may last year. I’m 36 now. But I come from 6 solid years of doing 2-3 times per week downhill/enduro and driving a stick truck, so it was pretty straightforward to me.

I’ve put on about 5,500 miles on the bike so far and I use it as a daily commute to work and sometimes go arriba twisties around my town, and this is where I find it lacking, above 45-50 miles I feel as the power is missing.

So I’m already thinking where to go from here, I think my fist choice would be the T120 but there’s something calling me to the speed 1,200.

The scramblers are out of my radar because I think they have too much suspension for my liking, I’ve done some off-roading on mine and I didn’t enjoy it, rather do it on a bicycle.

Limited to 1000units this time.

I think I low-key like it.

I have the chance to get an almost new Speed Triple 1200 RR.

I know it’s a bit of a polarizing bike — not quite a full-on sportbike, not exactly a naked either. Kind of stuck in between.

Are there any owners or fans here who can share their real-world experience with it?

What do you guys think about that idea? As you can see, my fleet is really sport oriented, and I’m looking to add something that will be geared more towards the purposes I mentioned in the title. I could honestly do those things on my Tuono or my Street Triple, but the way I have them set up…they’re so loud and crazy that I would rather add something more on the subdued side. While at the same time, is more “my style” eg still a sporty bike. I thought about the whole sport tourer thing…not my style visually. I used to own an Africa twin but I barely rode it, good bike but again not my style (plus the wind buffeting was bad on that bike). I traded that in for my 765 which I love.

If I get the 1200, I would throw the bags on the back and have a nice sounding but quieter exhaust…maybe a windscreen. I’m no stranger touring on bikes not meant for it. My first bike was CBR500R, and I did a round trip from Southern California up to Seattle and back along PCH. It was fine, just the seat on that bike was awful and 47 HP on interstate sections sucked.

Watching the Triumph teaser trailer, am I crazy or does that look like a potential Daytona 800?

Got the new street triple RX back in March. Love the bike but I've been getting like 33-34 mpg average. If i reset it and cruise at 70mph in 6th i got it up to 40. Seems low to me, maybe I'm just having too much fun on it?

Couldn't be happier. 125 miles yesterday (day 1).... Heading back out for a full day today probably 200-300 mile day. Let's GO!!!

Love the colourway, looks really premium in my opinion.

Tiger Sport 800 Tour

Hello guys,

I was looking at a used 2022 street triple R for sale, and wanted some advice. The bike has less then 2k miles on it, and looks to be in great condition. My only gripe is that it has been sitting for roughly a year with only a half tank of fuel in it. I’m nervous that there might be corrosion in the fuel tank from this. The bike is about 4 hours away from me, so I asked the owner to send a video and some photos of inside the gas tank. The bike seems to be running well, but I’m worried there might be unseen rust inside the fuel system. As you can see, the chain is pretty rusty already. The seller has the bike listed for $6500. Is this a silly worry, or should I consider offering a bit under asking because of this? Thanks in advance

I’m looking at a 2014 Triumph Street Triple 675 and seriously thinking of pulling the trigger. This would be my first proper sports bike, so just wanted to sanity check with people who’ve owned or ridden one.

The bike looks clean and well kept, but I don’t want to miss anything obvious. Anything in particular I should watch out for with this year/model? Any known issues or expensive surprises?

Also, how is it for someone stepping into this segment for the first time? Manageable or a bit too much?

Also, how strict are the Bangalore cops about aftermarket exhausts? I’ve heard mixed things, some say it’s fine if it’s not too loud, others say you’ll definitely get stopped.😅

I’ll mostly use it for weekend rides and maybe the occasional longer trip.

Would really appreciate any honest opinions—especially from anyone who started on this bike.

Has anyone in New Zealand managed to get their 2024-2025 street triple 765RS tuned without buying a power commander or the likes?

Spent a beautiful Tuesday morning at my favorite dealership Charleston Triumph. Dropped off my beloved Moto Morini SCR for new tires, brake pads, and a general spring check up before I rip it into spring riding season. Before I left I checked out the latest used bikes CT had to offer and found a gem.

A 2023 Triumph Speed Twin 900 with only 5k on the clock. Felt amazing sitting on this bike. Price is mint! About $8k before fees and taxes.

Curious to know what ST owners have to say about the ST. Let me know. Is a 1200 ST worth spending additional few grand? Thanks 🙏

Hi guys so I've owned a speed 400 for almost a year and a half as my 1st bike. Been starting to crave something with a little more power lol. I am a fairly chill with how I ride.

Anyway ive been looking for a good deal as I have been working hard to get debt free and dont want to increase my debt in anyway right now.

I have found a bonneville 2012 with 12500 miles on it, has the twin clocks instead of the newer dash which I do like. Now it is a salvaged title.... from theft. The guy seems honest and the bonny does look good.

Bike doesn't have abs but I have been practicing proper breaking alot, I dont really drive crazy and I guess I feel like ill be fine without abs. However im open to thoughts, tips, and suggestions, thanks in advance!

Gonna check this bike out later today but wanted to see if the triumph community had any thoughts on it. 2025 with 2500 miles, priced at just under 10k. It's obviously got an SC Project exhaust, and it was tuned by two wheel dynoworks. SC Project isn't necessarily my favorite, but I like that it was tuned by two wheel. It also has a tail tidy and windscreen.

If I were to buy a new 765 RS I would definitely get a tail tidy, and probably a windscreen. I would eventually get an exhaust and tune from two wheel. So essentially it has the mods that I would want to get, although SC Project wouldn't be my first choice.

The scuffing on the heel plates is apparently rubber worn off from the previous owners boots. It also was tracked once according to them, which probably explains the tape on the wheels (not sure why the dealership didn't remove the tape). The salesman said the tires probably have about 1500 miles left on them. The bike surprisingly will come with all OEM parts that were removed, both keys, manual and service records.

With that said, I'm wondering what y'all think about this bike for ~10k sticker price.
