I am Mauritanian, and I studied in Tunisia some years ago. Even after all this time, I still look back at that period very positively.

My experience there made me genuinely love the Tunisian people. I know some Tunisians might disagree with me about their own people, but from my experience, the majority of you are extremely kind, helpful, and social.

One thing I really appreciated was how people treated you when they saw that you were new to the country. They did not just leave you on your own. People would approach you, talk to you, help you understand the language, help you with your studies, and help you with everyday things. They made it much easier to feel comfortable and included.

Since then I have lived and traveled abroad, and somehow the same thing keeps happening. Whenever I meet a Tunisian, I already feel like there is a good chance we will get along. Most of the Tunisians I meet are friendly and helpful, and I usually end up becoming friends with them.

And this is not only my experience. Pretty much all the Mauritanians I know who spent time in Tunisia say the same thing.

So I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for the way you treated us, for the friendships, and for the good memories. Years later, they are still with me.

Hey everyone,

I just released the first working alpha (v0.2.0-alpha) of Knoten, an open-source, self-hosted WireGuard mesh VPN built in Go.

Instead of routing traffic through a central VPN server, Knoten creates direct, end-to-end encrypted tunnels directly between machines.

The current version still doesn't support NAT so it is still not ready for home routers.

What works today:

• Direct P2P Tunnels: WireGuard handles data traffic directly between peers; the coordination server never touches your data payload.
• Resilient Control Plane: A lightweight coordination server manages discovery and IP assignment. If the server goes down, existing tunnels stay active while nodes retry with exponential backoff.
• Zero-Downtime Sync: Pushes peer list updates live to running WireGuard interfaces without dropping active connections.
• Pure Go & Self-Hostable: Two static binaries + pure-Go SQLite with zero CGo dependencies. Includes an interactive CLI setup wizard.

Planned for future releases:

• Access and identity management.
• Stability and security improvements.
• NAT traversal support.

Mediterranean architecture in Tunisia is not only about white walls, arches or traditional decorative elements for me, what makes it interesting is the way it responds to the climate and the way people live: shaded outdoor spaces, patios, controlled openings, natural ventilation, local materials and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces these principles can still work very well in contemporary houses. The challenge is not to reproduce traditional architecture, but to reinterpret its principles according to today's needs.

My parents are threatening to force me to stay at my high school's boarding house because I refused to apologize after a physical fight.I am 17 btw.

Things blew up a week ago when my mom started beating my younger brother over his studies. When I stepped in to protect him, she turned on me, physically assaulting me and spitting in my face. In a blind rage and under pure shock, I spat back.

My dad stepped in and completely justified her actions, saying parents can never be wrong and using emotional blackmail ("what if she dies tomorrow?"). They've given me the silent treatment for a week, calling me a "heartless, disobedient son" bound for hell.

Today, they demanded a full apology taking 100% of the blame. When I refused to apologize for defending myself against physical abuse, they escalated: they threatened to force me to stay at the high school boarding house (mabit) right next to our town.

I hate the idea because the conditions are awful, but worse, since it's right there, all my schoolmates will see me living there and mock me, treating me like I was kicked out of my house.

I'm stuck:

If I apologize, I swallow my self-respect and validate their abuse.

If I don't, I face a toxic home and the humiliating reality of being forced into the school boarding house.

We’re a small Tunisian team working on Kidaiz, an adaptive learning platform primarily focused on K-12 education. we’ve recently built a new feature called TutorBoard, designed to support learners across different subjects and learning levels.

Think of it as an interactive whiteboard where you can communicate with an AI tutor.

The interesting part is that the AI doesn't just answer you in a chat. It can write and draw directly on the board — create tables, charts, mathematical formulas, diagrams, music notation/solfège, and other visual content depending on what you're learning.

TutorBoard is designed to work across pretty much any subject or learning level.

You can also bring your own learning material

For example, you could import:

• A high-school mathematics textbook
• A Kubernetes book
• Your university course
• Your own notes or study material

TutorBoard can use these resources to build a structured learning program, recommend what to study next, adapt the learning path, and keep track of your progress over time.

The AI tutor currently supports English, French, and Arabic.

I’m a Libyan woman in my early 20s, and I’m planning to move to Tunisia legally on my own money to continue my university studies. I would have my own income and savings, and my goal is to live independently.
My concern is not whether I can legally enter Tunisia. Libyans can enter Tunisia without a visa, but I’m worried about what could happen afterward.
My family is very controlling, and I’m afraid that even if I enter Tunisia legally, enroll in university, obtain legal residency, rent my own place, and become financially independent, they might use personal connections or واسطة at the Libyan-Tunisian land border to have me stopped and somehow forced back to Libya against my will.

دخل منذ الحصة الأولى لصباح اليوم الثلاثاء 01 سبتمبر 2026، عمال وإطارات شركة فسفاط قفصة في إضراب عام عن العمل بكامل مواقع الإنتاج، تنفيذاً لبرقية الإضراب الصادرة عن الجامعة العامة للمناجم.

ويشمل الإضراب، المتواصل على مدى ثلاثة أيام، مختلف مغاسل ومقاطع الفسفاط والورشات، إلى جانب مقرات الأقاليم ومراكز الشحن، فضلاً عن الإدارة العامة للشركة بكل من تونس وقفصة.

ويأتي هذا الإضراب للمطالبة بجملة من النقاط، من أبرزها إقرار التمثيل النقابي بمجلس إدارة الشركة، والترفيع في المنح، وإدماج الزيادات في الأجور بعنوان سنوات 2015 و2016 و2017 ضمن الأجر الأساسي، إضافة إلى تنقيح القانون الأساسي للشركة.

وبحسب المعطيات التي أوردها الفرع الجامعي للمناجم، فقد تجاوزت نسبة المشاركة في الإضراب 95 بالمائة خلال الساعات الأولى من انطلاقه، وسط توقف واسع للنشاط بمختلف مواقع الشركة.
