ALCOAST PFT weigh ins
So much for not having PFT an option for weigh ins.
The big guys will still have a chance, just gotta average over a 5 on the new PFT.
guess this is a lesson that not even the RFMC’s know what they’re passing down to their ratings sometimes?

Enlisted YN Boot to A
How does this program work as far as reporting after Boot? Is it like Vested where you go to your rated unit and TDY to A school?

Enlisted Loan Forgiveness
I’m currently an E4 who signed up for loan forgiveness through federal aid. Does coast guard assist with loans in any way? I’ve been digging everywhere and there just seems to be a lot grey areas. I’ll ask our Senior Chief who’s in charge of education benefits when I return from house hunting leave but was curious if anyone knows anything beforehand.
Thanks in advance.

Rant Reservist BMs experience
Am I wrong in saying that a Reservist who actually wants to get at it can potentially do more then an active duty member. I feel like any time I wanted to take a solicitation it is always needs of the service for active duty, but as a reservist if you are qualified and ask“hey can I please go support this mission” if you aren’t a terrible person 9 times out of 10 they’ll just let you? I only ask because I’m transferring to the reserve next summer and I wanna make sure I’m not assuming or reaching in what I’m thinking.

Coastie Help Allotments on DA
Hey all, I set up allotments on DA a few months back. They are supposed to deposit directly into savings accounts but they have not been going to my savings account and my paychecks have been missing the money. What do I do? I have not received any of the funds that are supposed to be in my savings accounts.

Anyone else waiting on their PCS/PPM reimbursements? I reported mid July, was told 3 days, and now we’re at 1.5 months.

Noob Question First PCS
Hello everyone, I’m due to PCS next month and it’s my first one. I’m getting conflicting info on whether or not to use my GTC or my personal credit card for my travel. Does it matter which one I use or is there any benefit to using one over the other?

ALCOAST Can HS become a boarding officer or be involved in LE or other similar roles?
I'm interested in being involved in both, just wanted to know if there are any opportunities like this in the Coast Guard.

Coastie Question Polar Star as a fresh BM3?
I’m graduating A school in six weeks and got the Star, my first pick. As the ship (and her mission) are so unique, info on day to day stuff is hard to come by. I have questions about everything so whatever you can share is welcomed, but specifically I’m wondering what is a new BM3 from a shore unit gonna do? What is the housing situation in port vs dry dock? Will I get to keep a penguin? (my BM2 told me I could) Anything you can share is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Noob Question What are some lesser known joint service schools (Army, Navy, USAF, USMC) that coasties can actually get quotas for?
Looking for unique cross-branch training opportunities beyond standard C-schools that aren't widely advertised. If you or someone in your unit pulled off orders to an interservice course, what was it and how did you route it?

Coastie Question Day to day life at a dive locker
Currently a non rate at a small boat station that put his name down for diver, and was just curious what the daily routine is like at dive locker like San Diego’s or Oahu’s and would love to know more about different missions you can get sent to. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Coastie Question How do you guys rank your PCS billets on your transfer season?
Alot of my shipmate (mostly SKs) choose and billets solely on location whether that location is close to family or have high BAH.
Some other of my shipmate rank billets based solely on the job description/duties and disregard for locations.
How do you guys rank your billet list when it is your PCS transfer season?

Officer Member comments on dream sheet?
Somehow over twelve years I’ve managed to never put in a true pick list in DA. How should my member comments read? Should I draft them as if they were a command endorsement? For example:
Mbr is a highly motivated professional at XX with a degree in XXX which would make them perfectly suited for XXX
OR
I believe I’m perfectly suited for [my top two] because I have experience from my service to best serve as a XYZ
If it helps I’m direct commission E6 to ENS at 9.5 years, now expecting to be an LT by transfer season. Thanks in advance everyone!

Rant Rant
I just want to rant a bit, I find it so silly I can join the CG. Over the last few years I’ve tried to no success. No criminal back round, I have a diploma, scored exceptionally well on the test, yet the one thing holding me back is a tattoo of a moth on my hand… it’s about 1” too big… 2 years to remove it with the chance it might not fully go away… just finally at the end of my journey I suppose…. I had tried everything… guess I’ll support from my regular life! Goodluck to all of you! I’m wildly jealous

ALCOAST Air station Washington: Special assignment.
As I put together my packet as AET2. I want to ensure my profile aligns closely with the unit's operational needs. Could anyone provide me some insight into what the command and screening panels prioritize most when evaluating candidates? Thanks in advance.
