Question 2nd year courses

Hi. I am a 2nd year cs student. I am planning on taking Matb43 this year, but I don’t know the workload so will it be hood to take it in fall with Stefanos along with the courses Cscb07, cscb36, matb41, stab52 and matb24. Or should I take it with Kathleen in winter with cscb63, cscb58, cscb09 and matb42 ?

I took it with Kathleen last year. If you're talking about workload, then Kathleen doesn't give a lot of homeworks. Iirc, there are only 4 assignments in total, each of them you can do it in 1-2 days if you dedicate enough time each day.

However, looking at your courses in the Winter, I think it's difficult to stay on top of this class. If you still insist, my best advice is to stay on schedule with the class' material and do practice questions regularly. Doesn't have to be every day, as long as you don't fall behind.

So would you recommend taking it in fall, or I can take it next year. But in that case I may take matb44 during the winter. How is matb44

I heard that Stefanos goes easy on his proofs, though I never took a class with him. Simply put, you would have to put more effort into practicing proof-writing and rigor in Kathleen's class rather than Stefanos' class. All in all, looking at your course load, I'd say if you were comfortable taking a37 with Kathleen, then taking b43 with her should also be fine.

Also for matb44, regardless off who your professor is it should be a very easy class. Again, I can't say if it's Stefanos, but I've heard from people who took it with him that he goes very easy on his problem set. When I took it, it was with James Bremer, and I'd say he's a pretty sensible professor and his classes are really nice. Overall, b44 shouldn't be a problem for you, I'd say it could even be a bird course.

Okay thank you so much
