Damn near match has something that sticks out whether it’s the angle or the wrestlers. It’s too bad All In is always in England for the most part. Seriously, Tony Khan, what does London have that Burlington, Vermont doesn’t?

Then again, matches like the main event? You shouldn’t do that anywhere except in the heart of England.

Genuinely, I used to look forward to watching The Opps, Samoa Joe was responsible for 90% of their aura (Please come back, Joe). I just can’t take Hook seriously as the leader of a morgue, much less The Opps. I’m not saying Hook sucks as a wrestler, he’s just not a leader in my opinion.

I feel like I blinked and suddenly Lio Rush turned into this creepy possessed persona. Not going to lie, I have been entertained by Lio randomly popping up on Dynamite and Collision. The Rascalz were nice enough to not let him go it alone against The Opps, not much 
else to say.

Name is in the title, this doesn’t need to be on the pre-show. You’re never not going to get an odd couple vibe with whomever Harley Cameron is put with. Oh, look, Julia Hart decided to take a break from Japan to give Skye Blue a freaking bone. By the way, Thekla, where the fuck are you and why aren’t you in a triple threat with Moné and Willow?

World Trios Titles Roulette Battle Royal: Why Can’t I Hold All These Trios Teams?
I was wondering how Tony was going to fit so many men into a match. Utter chaos on the pre-show is the right answer.

The return of Jay White has led the Bang Bang Gang towards getting payback against The Dogs who are now at full strength after Gabe Kidd got his visa in order. Ricochet and The Demand are pissed after being champs for barely a week before losing the titles to Adam Page and Brodido. 

Yeah, that’s right, Hangman’s back and true to his promise, Page is not going to chase the World Title ever again. But Brody King and ROH World Champ Bandido had no problem letting Page into the fold to win the Trios Titles at Grand Slam Mexico this year.

Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly of The Conglomeration want the gold back too, plus there’s Jon Moxley’s boys, The Death Riders.

But there’s one spot left for a wild card. Now who… (Who? Who? Who?) Could that be? Swerve Strickland came back to talk smack in front of the champs, three men he notably defeated. And that wasn’t a one-off, he gave a vague warning to Adam Page the next week about getting involved in the trios scene. Could it actually be The New Day after WWE dropped the ball on their heel run?

If true, then why have this match on the pre-show? If you really landed The New Day, Tony, they deserve to pop up on the main card. It’d be diluting the thrill of the moment when people are still rolling in.

Persephone Vs. World (c): Calling Out from Maya’s World
Maya World’s entry and rise in AEW has come due to unexpected changes, but man has she proved she belongs. The Owen Hart Tournament Final was proof she’s been ready to wrestle with the big girls. She wasn’t going to beat Mercedes Moné, but she still looked great in defeat.

Then at Redemption, World fittingly won the TBS Championship, a well-deserved and emotional win. Over a month prior, Maya’s brother was hit by a car and died on the spot. Her brother was the reason she got into wrestling, now look at Maya.

And it’s that same TBS Title that Persephone, the CMLL World Women’s Champ, is eyeing with villainous intent. With this being on the pre-show, I don’t expect a title change, yet, I wonder if AEW will be doing some course corrections. They’ve made a habit of booking Persephone to lose more than she wins. Hell, even WWE officials are supposedly confused.

Enter National Champion Andrade El Ídolo, Friedman and Andrade are #2 and #1 respectively in the casino gauntlet. It’s likely going to come down to them anyway to win a World title shot contract. And you better believe I’m going to be rooting hard for El Ídolo to hit MJF with reality.

I don’t know what surprises entrants we might have but maybe Zack Sabre Jr. again? You know, we haven’t seen Mark Briscoe since he got hurt, is he still going to be out? Hopefully it’s not as bad as Adam Cole, this will be the second-straight All In without him.

McGuinness Vs. Moxley (c): Jay White Was Right There, Tony
To be fair, I wasn’t feeling hot about Kyle O’Reilly and Jon Moxley for the fourth time. Nigel wasn’t going to be held out of his hometown but I really have a hard time believing he’ll win since he’s fighting with a broken freakin’ neck ankle… Allegedly. Some are saying it’s a work, I don’t really know. What I do know is I just don’t feel convinced that Nigel’s going to be the one to dethrone ol’ Jonny Boy.

It’s tough to stop Moxley when he’s on the kind of grind he’s on right now. I can’t believe how bad his World Title run used to be, Continental Champ Moxley has been loads better. Mostly because Moxley stopped using cheap tactics to win while still staying true to his no-nonsense sweep-the-leg mentality. Fans may boo the Death Riders but not Moxley, even when he and the Riders are stomping out suckers for fun.

Who is really a legitimate threat to Jon after All In? Because I’m not expecting him to lose.

Takeshita Vs. Okada Vs. Fletcher (c): Ego-Measuring Contest
Man, I can smell Kyle Fletcher’s insecurity from across the pond. He’s mad at fellow Don Callis Family member Kevin Knight for daring to be the current TNT Champion. How about you worry about your own shit, chief?

Yeah, another DCFer, Kazuchika Okada, has been eyeing your International Title, but why the fuck are you surprised that Don Callis decided you’re defending your belt against the Rainmaker? He said the same bullshit about keeping it in the family before Konosuke Takeshita beat Okada for the title. Then you all booted Takeshita out and later you won the belt from him.

Not to mention, you had the gall to say Takeshita was selfish for chasing the International Championship. My brother in Christ, have you not watched Okada at all? He’s only in the family because it’s convenient for him and I’m pretty sure Don Callis doesn’t care. Okada couldn’t be bothered to help you when Takeshita finally came back from the G1 in Japan to beat your ass.

You really think your spot in the DCF is safe if Okada beats you in this three-way? Don will be too busy with his shiny new toy. He's kicked people to the curb before and you were part of it.

Allin Vs. Knight (c): Daredevils Die Hard, Not Easy
I’ll admit, Kevin Knight turning on Darby Allin after Double or Nothing got me good. But please, Kevin, you could’ve left it at it should’ve been you fighting MJF, but Darby let everyone down? Okay, yeah it was MJF, but don’t be so shocked Darby ran out of gas when he was defending the World Title every five minutes like a maniac.

I digress, this new attitude has served The Jet well so far, giving fresh air to an already solid TNT Title run. Knight has defended the belt nine times which is a new record according to AEW. And after the August 19 Dynamite, he’s made it very easy to be booed. He tricked Allin into walking into a pyro stunt trap AND mocked Sting’s son, Steven Borden, who was checking up on The Daredevil.

Here’s the thing though, Allin’s one stubborn son of a bitch. He’s not going to let getting burned in the face stop him from trying to destroy Knight. Quite literally, this is a falls count anywhere match at Darby’s insistence. Careful about poking the bear, Kevin, an injured Allin is a dangerous Allin.

The Brawling Birds Vs. The Divine Dominion (c): \WINDSAAAH INTENSIFIES\**
Okay, finally, we’ve skipped ahead to the part where The Divine Dominion get toppled, right? It’s been a strong run for Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, two physically imposing women (stop drooling) who literally gave 5-minute challenges to random competitors just to see if they could last that long. They ran over the women’s tag team division to the point where it barely passes for roadkill.

Except for the Brawling Birds, Jamie Hayter and Alex WINDSA– *cough* Alex Windsor. Two women with world title success on their resumes. Both joining forces because of that and because they like to get into bar fights. You could say they hurt people… Wait, wrong stable. Also, they apparently have a traveling pub with them wherever they go, convenient. 

In conclusion, two women with sheer power versus two women riled up and itching to scrap. I’m banking on it being a happy night for the new-Mrs. Ospreay once she and Jamie win the belts while Will goes for the top prize.

🎵 Metallic Madness (Present - JP) - Sonic CD OST
The Young Bucks Vs. Copeland & Cage (c): What Does It Mean to be Great?
Two of the most successful tag teams in the past 26 years collide in a championship match. It’s certainly not something I ever expected to happen. I know it should be a big deal, but I don't feel psyched about it. Mostly, because I’d rather not see the Young Bucks win the Tag Team Championships again, but I know I’m not alone in that.

The name brand does a lot of lifting here for the build-up, Legally-Not-Edge-&-Christian defined a generation, so did the Jackson Brothers. TLC matches don’t happen without Copeland & Cage, AEW itself literally doesn’t happen without The Bucks.

What really matters here is how they can make the story work. Who’s more desperate to win? Who has more at stake when it comes to personal legacy? Adam and Christian aren’t getting younger, so if this is their last title run together, time spent wisely, I’d say. As for Matt & Nick, there’s rumors floating around they might not actually renew their contracts. I’m already expecting them to win, so what happens after they do? How much time do they have left in AEW?

Moné Vs. Nightingale (c): Going to Need More Than Smiles to Win
You don’t book someone to win the Owen Hart Tournament twice just to have them blow two straight title shots, right?

It has to be Moné or bust at this point, all the stars are aligning for The CEO. She’s got too much history with Willow Nightingale to ignore. Who beat Mercedes en route to becoming NJPW’s first Strong Women’s Champion? Willow. Who ended the longest-ever TBS Title run and started the collapse of Moné’s reign with 13 championships across the indies? Willow.

Moné is seeing more red than an Arsenal fan getting cut off from beer. She hates Willow because almost everything Willow’s done in AEW can be tied some way to beating Moné. So The CEO’s hellbent on destroying Willow’s smile and getting the attention back on her.

Willow’s a great babyface and has most certainly deserved to be a World Champ, but I do think it’s a shame that Willow’s run has to end after more or less a month. I don’t like short title reigns but as I said earlier, Moné losing two straight world title shots in as many years is bad booking. Willow’s also got an injured hand, there’s no way that doesn’t factor into things.

What I’m confused about is that Thekla is not involved whatsoever. I really thought this was going to be a triple threat. Thekla was a stellar heel champ and after getting toppled by Willow at Redemption, that’s it? She’s not doing *anything* at All In? That doesn’t make any sense.

🎵 The Unsung War - Ace Combat 5 OST
Ospreay Vs. Omega (c): IT’S COOOOOMING HOME, IT’S COOOOOMING HOME
When this began, I was in the minority and wanted this to be Ospreay Vs. MJF. I realized that wasn’t going to happen at Beach Break when Omega Vs. Friedman had the stipulation that Omega could never fight for the World Title again if he lost.

I’ll admit I’m a little more convinced now. Ospreay and Omega's many battles are known to AEW fans by this point. Both have etched decorated legacies in Japan. Both have faced each other with vicious fervor and a begrudging respect followed. But this heel turn by Kenny has come a little late, no? Why didn’t he rub in sooner the hollow feeling Will admitted to after beating Omega with Don Callis’ help way back? Could’ve also bragged about Kenny’s name selling more tickets than Ospreay’s name sooner instead of two and half weeks before All In. It’s not hard to flesh out the ‘Yeah, you’re good, but you’re not me’ story. Omega and Ospreay were having heart-to-hearts well before All In, they had plenty of time.

Everyone knows Kenny has more than demonstrated he's the best active wrestler in the modern era, which is why I’ve been drawn into Will’s side of the story more. Omega is a near-insurmountable mountain and that ate away at Ospreay once he became All Elite. So, Will accepted the tutelage of The Death Riders, despite the fact they put him on the shelf for months. He decided they were the right path to being the best he could. But Will refused to be as cutthroat as them and Omega seized on that hesitation. Of course Ospreay wasn’t going to choke out Kenny with a plastic bag at Redemption, but Omega didn’t believe him. 

Now, Kenny’s doubt about Will’s motives have turned to heelish paranoia and he doesn’t think Will can pull the trigger. Buddy, did you forget where you’re wrestling him? His land, his people, his blood. It’s not about if Ospreay can pull the trigger or not, it’s when. Nothing is holding Ospreay back now. Not Don Callis, not The Death Riders and sure as shit not the fusion neck surgery that kept him out for months. I am no Englishman, but I dare say this will be the loudest wrestling pop at Wembley Stadium since The British Bulldog defeated Bret Hart. Go forth, Bruv, make your country proud.
