Discussion & Feedback Dynamic Weather before new maps
I know the EA period is focused on fixing and refining what's already there, and that's all fine and dandy.
When the devs are ready for more content injection, I genuinely believe a dynamic weather system is way more important than anything else. The emergent gameplay that arises as a result of the ridiculous amount of little systems in the game already would only get enhanced if the backdrop changes over the course of the match.
Not to mention these matches can get insanely long. It'd be sick to have the weather and time of day change gradually over the course of a match to keep it from getting stale visually.
I'm a huge FINALS enjoyer, and one of the best things about that game is definitely the variants of the maps. They don't change dynamically throughout a round, but they do really add a lot of flavor, and the maps rarely go out of style.

They already have some weather system. Not sure how intricate but I got over 35 hours in both closed alpha and the recent beta combined and played the same map multiple times and sometimes it was clear sky, mid day, other times it was a grey and cloudy day.

Dynamic weather as a variability in meta is an awesome idea, chopper gets 30 kills then fog rolls in, can’t see ground much, switch to ground vehicles, same with sniper balance

Dynamic weather is a must have if you ask me. We had this in bf1, which if you ask me was fucking awesome! and since then the games I played didnt have that. Like other people already wrote, imaginen if fog goes over the battlefield, so helis cant do much anymore, mortars and artillery, cuts through the fog. Dunno sounds great to me, if it will work like that.

There is a dev podcast that says they have lots of features nearly ready to go so maybe this was one of them

Im 100% sure dynamic weather is already in to some extent. We had games in which there was fog while other times it was a clear day.

Wait really??? I only got to play two full rounds. I don't remember any of the sort happening.

there was definitely a weather system at play, yeah- but it was primarily a setting when the server started, not a dynamic thing
sometimes the map would be overcast, desaturated and a little damp othertimes it'd be bright and sunny and colourful, etc etc
i don't know for sure how easy that would be to turn dynamic (i'd imagine it'd contribute a little to server strain) but it'd be neat as hell to have storms roll in and such.

I don't even need "dynamic" weather, just a random chance of a map being raining or overcast or foggy would be nice. Though it will probably run into Hunt Showdown issues where all the snipers quit out the second they realize they can't see 100km out.

I neither need nor want dynamic weather.

I don't wanna rain on your parade... but I do want and need dynamic weather. Because ArmA had it and it really did create so many cool scenarios that made each match feel way more unique despite spamming the same map and gamemode for nearly 500 hours

Although I disagree that dynamic weather would be more impactful than a new map, I do think it would be very fun. I especially like the idea of a storm making flying much harder, forcing teams to use ground vehicles for transport as a reactive measure. It would also reduce sniping periodically.
