EDIT: Well, I have read all of your kind comments and your response is overwhelmingly positive, so thank you all! 😅 I am definitely feeling better about my choice, and will not be trusting the evil mirror in the fitting room going forward.
I’ll post an update photo when I go with my MOH to my next fitting in a few days, and I’ll definitely take your suggestions and be more vocal to the seamstress!
Plus, I’m bringing my veil and I won’t have to rely on just a mirror for pictures! (My veil is layered with pink and blue tulle, so that should bring out the pink more.)
Wedding is in October and I am not feeling good about my dress anymore. It’s too late and expensive to get a different one, is there any hope?
I tried the dress on twice at two appointments each (I had an appointment at a different shop between the two appointments with this one and couldn’t stop thinking of it.) and I was so sure when I bought it. It was dramatic and big but still lightweight, and it’s pink even though it’s subtle. And, though in hindsight the stylist had probably just clamped the back really good because the sample was too big, my waist was so defined! For months I was so happy with my dress, and then mine came in.
This may have just been the white toned light in the alteration fitting room as opposed to the warm showroom lighting, but mine looks more white than it does “pink champagne.” That doesn’t bother me too much.
I’m not sure if mentioning this is against the rules, but my weight loss efforts have not been as successful as I’ve hoped. But I still lost some weight in between purchasing and my fitting, so I don’t know why I look so wide. I went into that fitting so excited and left just feeling horrible, I can’t stand to look at the pictures I took.
I have another fitting in a couple days. They’ve added cups in the bust, and there was some room to take in the waist but I don’t think they did. Maybe they can still do it? The back has buttons that go down the skirt, so I don’t think turning it into a corset back to cinch in the waist is an option,
even without time being a factor. Maybe I can get an actual corset and take the waist in? They told me I didn’t need any shapewear and shouldn’t use any because the hips were free, but I wish I went with my instinct.
First two photos are after alterations last month, last photo is the clamped on sample the day I bought it.
