Progress My road to Wegovy

Post image
111 Upvotes

I started earnestly working out at the gym exactly a year ago today. And I have done at least 2 workouts a week for the last year 🙌🏼💪🏽. My A1C had ticked into pre-diabetes range so my doc put me on Metformin. Several months later, I was able to try Phentermine. I was on it for about 2-3 months and it worked initially but the effectiveness started to fade and the jitteriness never sat well with me. Last month, I was able to start the Wegovy shot at .5 mg.

In the last year, I’ve lost 18 pounds but more importantly, my knee pain is gone, I learned how to paddleboard, and I was able to spend 3 days at Disneyland with no aches or pains!

I’m hoping that I can maintain and build more muscle through my workouts and that I can lose fat with the help of Wegovy. I’d love to be able to paint my toenails with more ease and do more yoga poses without my belly getting in the way!

Progress My doctor made me cry happy tears.

Hey folks, I just got back from my prescription renewal appointment with my GP, and I am so happy and proud of myself. Background: I am 59, F, 5'3". I started on Wegovy in November 2025 after a lifetime of struggles with my weight. SW: 200lbs CW: 160lbs. Current dose: 1 mg injection. My doctor told me he's keeping me on 1 mg at least for another 3 months. He told me it is because I'm still losing and have no real side effects. Then he said the part that made me cry happy tears: "A lot of people who go on this medication don't see the same results as you because they don't do the work. But you obviously do, and it's really impressive."

After month of calorie deficit, counting macros, cardio, and strength training 💪 I felt really seen.

That's it. That's the story.

I‘m almost to goal. Another few pounds and a few weeks left on Wegovy. Sorry I don’t have very many before pics. It was such a low period in my life, so I didn’t take any pics. I had a mental health crisis and menopause a few years later. Between the stress of the crisis and menopause, I really put it on. Before I put the weight on, I ran, swam and lifted weights, and I was paranoid about losing lean mass when I started Wegovy. I lifted weights during my journey, and think I’ve done OK preserving muscle. I have some sagging skin, but I’ll take it!

I've been eating nonstop after getting off wegovy

Hi! I (25) female was taking wegovy for a year before my insurance cut me off in April. Before I was even on wegovy (2.4mg) I had a small appetite, I could barely finish a big mac in one sitting, but ever since I've been cut off from it I've been eating nonstop, never feeling full and and gained almost 50 pounds. I hate myself for it. I can't go to a doctor for support and I don't know what to do. I feel like my body's not my own. Any input is appreciated

Question Suggestion: Add shot or pill as post flair

When reading posts here I often find myself wondering if they’re about the shot or the pill. Whether it be about results or side effects.

Anyone else? How nice would it be if posts were tagged with «Shot» or «Pill»!

Down nearly 50 pounds...then my liver goes fatty

Well I went in for a 9 mth checkup and had bloodwork done in advance. Turns out my liver has gone fatty. This is after ive dropped from 250 down to 205 fixed all other numbers.

Going to refine my diet and work to correct. But I have to say my liver has looked great my entire life. Not sure why it has decided to act up now.

Still Eating Large Amounts

I’ve been on Wegovy since July 2025. I lost 20 pounds in the first month.

I’m 37, 5’6 staring weight 214, current weight 188.

I do intermittent fasting. I walk. I do Pilates and lift weights. However, my job can have unpredictable hours and I’ve been struggling with injuries that set me back.

I also had to go down a dose strength when I had a colonoscopy (results normal). I made the shift to 2.4 for the first time three weeks ago. The food noise is slightly better but I still have days where I over eat… and yes. I do track my calories.

Am I just not working hard enough? I’m thankful to be down 26 pounds and not gaining. But I’m feeling very frustrated the scale isn’t shifting closer to my first goal of 175, ultimate goal 135.

Anyone else have this problem?

Bowel habits

Anyone else feel like their bowel movements have not been the same since they’ve been on a glp-1? When I first started I was always constipated and now I fluctuate from one extreme to the other through the week or even from week to week. Anyone else fluctuate?

1.7mg

So in a recent post I said how I was scared to start this dosage. Well I started it on Sunday night, to see how symptoms were going to be. Not bad at all. I had mild cramping the day of injection then I just had slight nausea the next day but it went away. So no major symptoms at all. I’m so glad. SW: 245 CW:233

Looking at these side-by-side photos made me realize how far I've come

Post image

I started my tirzepatide journey earlier this year after reaching a point where I just didn't feel comfortable in my own body anymore.

Been tracking my weight and measurements along the way. But today, I wanted to share something a little different.

Looking at my photos side by side hit me in a way the numbers haven't. I can see the physical changes, but I also notice how much happier and more confident I seem.

I'm not at the finish line yet, and I still have goals I want to work toward. But taking a moment to look back and see how far I've already come feels so good.

Just feeling proud of myself today and wanted to share. 🙌

Question Interested in Starting

Hello! As the title suggests, my PCP spoke to me today about starting Wegovy. I have a huge fear of needles, and need the PICC team for any needle stick. 🥲

Background: I am a 30 yo mother of 2, at 5 feet 4 inches and 278 lbs today (I’ve been this since my diagnosis in Feb 2025). In 2025, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I’ve since completed treatment, achieved PCR, and had a double breast surgery.

Since my diagnosis, I’ve eaten much better with the help of my dietician. I prioritize protein, use the nourish app to maintain a calorie deficit MOST days, and when I go over it’s to about 2500 calories. I use a vibration plate, have a 5lb weight to help with mobility, and practice tai chi stretching.

Truthfully, I used to jog religiously before getting pregnant with my youngest. I loved it. Now, I can barely do household chores without breaking into a massive sweat. Going outside in 90+ degree F weather is not my friend, and I get to the point of fainting with a HR of 160+.

Would Wegovy help me? My cardiologist has already approved, we’re waiting to hear what my oncology team says. Side effects can’t be worse than chemo, right 🙈

Edited to add: my insurance approves injections.

TLDR: 30 yo mom, 5’4”, 278 lbs and past cancer patient considering starting Wegovy.

Question For those with insurance coverage

What is your out of pocket for the injection? Mine is quoted almost $700 a month but I can do 90 days do the pill for $175. I see my doctor Thursday to start the process and obviously the pills are the way to go cost wise. I would love to do the injection but there’s no way I can pay that monthly.

Hit a plateau

Post image
9 Upvotes

What is going on here? I suddenly hit a plateau. Generally maintaining similar lifestyle as with the steady weight loss period with exception of a bit of travel which I would expect to see some deviation, but not like this. Zooming in it fluctuates a bit but zooming out really paints the picture of a plateau. My goal was 143 to just get out of the "Overweight" BMI then assess for next goal. Is this normal? Will I need to change diet/exercise to break this?

Question How has wegovy affected your periods?

I’ve suffered from PCOS my whole life and I’ve never had a regular or predictable menstrual cycle. I’m used to getting my period only 2-3 times a year and when it does come, it usually lasts around a month.

I’ve been taking Wegovy for 4 months, and my last 3 periods have been surprisingly normal. Around a 29–32 day cycle with 4 to 5 days of bleeding.

Could this be related to Wegovy, or is it just a coincidence? I don’t want to get my hopes up, but it’s the first time I’ve had anything close to a normal cycle. Has anyone else experienced this?

How often do you see your doctor / get bloodwork done?

I get prescribed wegovy by my GP. Last time he saw me was in May, going to see him again next week for a follow up and getting bloodwork done. How often are you seeing your doctor?

Progress I lost a check bags worth of weight.

Kinda a good and bad actually

I've been on wegovy since February. I am still on the 1mg since it's still working. It's been slow but I haven't really been counting calories or strict dieting. I started at 255. Now I weigh about 220.

I am moving cities and packed a 40inch luggage mostly full of clothes and books. I had figured the one luggage was going to be at the weight limit of 50lbs for my airlines checked bag allowance (and I would need to buy more). It felt quite heavy

Without the luggage I was 222. With the luggage I was 255. This difference of 33lbs means my luggage is not at the the max. But also means that I lost the equivalent of a checked bag and I still don't feel like I have. I was surprised and weighed it twice and had similar weight for each try. I plan to double check it again tonight to make sure but wow I can't believe I functioned with that much weight on me when holding it while weighing it was a bit heavy

It took over a year with tears and off-track weekends, but a few bad days will not erase months of hard work. I'm so happy!! If you are stuck in the process, keep showing up keep going . The change does not have to be perfect all the time but it worth it!

Ask me anything about my routin, mental side of things, everything... I would be glad to help

Question Does the food noise go away?

I got a glp1 script for a binge disorder and it's working, I'm not hungry at all basically but my doctor assured me that the food noise and addiction typically goes with it but I haven't had that. I will have the food obsession but I'm too full to eat so weirdly I'm getting more obsessed with food than I was before, just now a binge makes me feel way more unwell. I'm only 3 months in so IDK but does anyone have experience w this

When did you take your first dose?

Just got my Wegovy pen and was told to take the first injection before bed, preferably on a Friday so I have the weekend in case I get side effects.

I'm not keen on taking new medications before bed and am wondering when people took theirs?

Question This can’t be normal?

In Canada and click counting a 2.4mg pen. Started April 20 at .25mg for 4 weeks and moved up to .5mg. Stayed at .5mg for many weeks and then slowly click counted small increases about 5 weeks ago due to 6 week plateau. (16 clicks to 18 to 20). Down 25 pounds total.

The last few weeks have been awful. Nauseas and vomit every morning. After my shot this past week I was fine the day after, but the next day I was sick alllll day and half the next day couldn’t even keep water down. I’m still suffering with nausea and skipped my shot two days ago hoping things right itself. Hoping once I feel better to go back to .5mg (16clicks) as it seems the wheels came off once I increased even a little.

This seems to be ongoing and I’m very frustrated and exhausted. I’m not dehydrated or in any pain but I’m concerned about my nutrition as I can barely eat let alone anything of merit. Living on saltines and arrowroot cookies. From day 1 I’ve been a slave to gravol and pepto.

Have doctor appt to review but it’s not for a couple weeks. Do I need to switch to something else? I would have thought things would have gotten better by now. 5 months of feeling like garbage is not ideal. The first month I was good. Now it’s just constant gastro issues.

Can you switch shot to pill?

I'm doing well on weekly Wegovy jab and losing about 4-5 lbs a month. The $349 cost is getting too steep to maintain. Is moving over to Wegovy pill an option to continue for another couple months of weight lose, and then for maintenance? I wouldn't have trouble taking it as directed. Thanks!
