Employee Team leader?

I've been working at spoons for nearly two years, and am pretty much doing the team leader job without any of the benefits. Is it worth applying for team leader or is the added responsibility not worth it?

Edit: There's only one other kitchen team leader, so the work would be split between the two of us.

Not really worth it for a small increase in pay. Which is literally just 10 pence

I chose not to because it wasn’t worth the extra 10p for the extra shouting at 🤣

Depends if you wanna progress any further. If you want to then you sort of have to. If you can't be bothered then it's not worth the tiny bit of extra money because especially in the kitchen (or at least the one I worked in, TL's ran most shifts)

For 20 p not really most peoppe who have TL dont really want it as its more stress for not that much pay increase

it depends on how your managers treat you and whether you want to progress

it’s worth it if you know you’re going to get supported by your managers because team leader is more like a stepping stone into shift leader, the extra responsibility isn’t worth the 10p pay rise imo unless you’re planning on progressing further up in the company.

from my experience, if your managers tend to dump things on you a lot because you’re an experienced and hard worker, expect that to get 10x worse when you’re a team leader

If you're already doing the work, why not. Depends where you want to go with the job/career but if you're planning on staying for a while, there is literally no disadvantage. I'm hoping to do the same once a position opens up

Imo it’s not worth it but if you’re wanting to travel far in the business then potentially but if you don’t see yourself working there in the future then it’s not worth it you get paid slightly more than a standard colleague yet you get a shed load more of responsibility

Depends. For the money, no. To build your CV. Thats up to you. However it may help in the future to get another team lead job
