What dis mean

Ordered my first PSL of the season today but I have no idea what the barista was tryna write here. It was an online order so it’s not like related to me or any convo with them. My coworkers and I had some fun trying to decipher it but literally have no clue. What do y’all think? They punking me??? 🤨🤣 Sorry if this isn’t the right sub… I just need to know!!!!

Translates roughly as: "Help, they make us write on cups with threat of being written up. I'm suffering."

They’re even making them do it on delivery orders. If any Starbucks employee capable of making change sees this, I need you to know the lil message and a smiley face did not make my day. I was sad for the baristas. Just print the cups with pre-approved messages in a handwritten style font and leave the baristas alone.

Starbucks barista here, and I know. How could "yum :) " on your cup make your day? Especially when you come in every day and read the same thing? With ink that rubs off on your fingers or clothes, and sharpie fumes that you have to smell while lifting the cup to your face. Unfortunately, we have no say in anything this company does, but you (the customer) does. If enough customers complain, this will get changed, but until then, enjoy your scribbled, disingenuous nonsense.

On my lunch, but I was just 27 ESPRESSO DRINKS BEHIND. Not cold bar or brewed, just espresso. Line to the door. My espresso machine pulling so many bad shots - eventually I just started giving them out because wtf. All I could think about is how annoyed customers must be watching me waste time writing on their cups.

Are you allowed to pre-write any of them? I had this vision of barista is writing nice words on a shit load of cups during the slow hour or something. It really is terrible to make barista’s do that one way or another

I honestly don't mind or  even enjoy it most times. I love when it is a regular or I just had a connection at register and I can write something personal, but when there's a line to the door and a ton of mobiles...not so much. 

Pre-writing is not allowed, but sometimes we write or draw on the top cups if there's time between customers, but if you write and then stack the sharpie gets inside of the next cup in the stack. 

As a healthcare employee currently at Starbucks for the benefits while I go through nursing school, it is overall a good company to work for and I truly enjoy the majority of my days. But, big but, it is dumb af to have to write a personalized message when I'm drowning in beverages and people are staring at me with rage.

That you haven’t heard that Starbucks Union Workers have asked for a nationwide boycott (if you are in the US) due to alleged unfair labor practices. They want things like there to be 3 people shift at all times (which makes sense when you think about how their operations work) and better healthier working conditions.

I can KIND OF see it as pumpkin l (l as in lowercase L, not uppercase i) for pumpkin latte/pumpkin spice latte, but in a quick scribble that makes a few of the letters blend together. Its the only logical thing I can come up with 😅
