It has no particular relevance in Wicca, nor that I know of in broader myth.

In the magical-realism/family chronicle fantasy novel, Little, Big by John Crowley, a squirrel-tail becomes a sort of lucky charm for one character that allows him to be assured his love is always requited, but it ends badly for him.

What associations does a squirrel tail have for you? That's more relevant anyway than what it means to anyone else. Blessed be.

i’ll add that to my tbr, i’m currently reading weyward by emilia hart!

to me i think a squirrel tail would represent protection and survival since the squirrel that lost this probably lost it from escaping a predator since their tails can fall off similarly to a lizards but theirs don’t grow back maybe this is why it naturally ended up in my mail box. my mom laughed when she saw it and said my mailman probably thinks im nuts which i am soo

unlucky to lose its tail but hopefully lucky enough it got away

I've seen squirrels which have lost their tails around our bird table, and their ability to balance is substantially reduced when they've lost their tails. Perhaps they survive but it is a real loss for them.
