This is how i fixed mine on my 2017 R6, i see that the R1 and MT09 share very similar ones or are the same quickshifter.
The quickshifter uses a simple micro switch which you can test if thats gone bad by disconnecting your quickshifter from under your gas tank and running a continuity test with a multimeter. Make sure that theres not a break in the line before you rule out the actual switch.
The switch is located in the housing unit and is held by two screws (picture attached), the switch is an alps alpine SPVQ361600 which i bought from Digikeys(https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/alps-alpine/SPVQ361600/26772376), a few others also sell this switch but there is a small issue. The switch used in the quickshifter is a NC (Normally closed) circuit and the one digikeys sells is NO (normally open) from my reasarch all manufactures sell the SPVQ361600 with NO circuit because thats how Alps alpine sell them by default (dont bother contacting alps they do not work with individuals).
You will need to cut open the switch (picture attached) and expose the connectors and switch the wires to make the switch NC. You will switch the red wire from the connector numbered 1 to the connector numbered 2. (picture attached)
When you are done run a continuity test and make sure you wired it correctly. After that you can seal it back up and put it back in the quickshifter housing.
You can put some isolation on the connectors but make sure the switch inside the housing is snug and cant rattle or move while inside and get dislocated.
Do another continuity test this time with the shifter, it should beep when you upshift (with a little bit more pressure so the pressure plate inside the housing moves and activates the switch).
After everything is back in place and tested you can go out and try it out.
