A 24 year marriage has ended in a dramatic High Court property dispute, with Caecilia Nyamutswa awarded the lion’s share of the couple’s real estate after the court rejected an equal 50-50 split.

Caecilia was awarded 100% of the Colne Valley property, 60% of the Vainona property and a 12-acre plot in Shamva. The court found that she had made the greater direct financial contribution, including payments towards the properties and the children’s school fees.

Her husband, pilot Cosmas Nyamutswa, who can no longer fly because of ill health, told the court that he had become a “house-husband”, handling school runs and household responsibilities. He also argued that he had supported his wife’s career and contributed in other ways.

Despite losing the larger share of the property, Cosmas retains a Cessna aircraft, two boats, fishing equipment, welding equipment, a gold refining boiler, firearms and royalties from books he authored.

The court also dismissed his request for post-divorce medical aid maintenance and rejected several other claims.

The final settlement leaves Caecilia with most of the couple’s houses and land, while Cosmas retains valuable movable assets and his book royalties

• To clarify, the Harare-Mutare passenger train line is actively running? How much does it cost? How can I get to Bulawayo from Harare and is the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls line actively running too?
• Are there any local hiking/outdoor groups/clubs based in Harare that organise hiking trips (day or multi-day) and other outdoor excursions that people can sign up to join? I'm not looking for a tour company. I'd love to be able to experience these activities with other people rather than booking my own solo experience (though I'm perfectly comfortable with this).
• As a young woman travelling solo, what things should I be mindful of when travelling through Zim?

The author wanted to manipulate people into voting NO but Redditors instead voted YES in their numbers. This is testament to the great work the president is doing in driving the nation towards Vision 2030.

I suspect those NO votes were manipulated by the author as they have sole control over the system. The YES votes might also have been manipulated by the author when he saw the overwhelming support the president has. I suspect the YES votes were far more than displayed.

I’m travelling to Zimbabwe in October. I was actually born in Zimbabwe but left when I was around three years old, so this will be my first time back since then.

I’ll be mainly based in Harare, but I’m very happy to travel around the country while I’m there. I’d really appreciate recommendations for things to see and do, both close to Harare and further away.

I’m interested in a mix of wildlife, scenery, history, food, nightlife and anything that feels genuinely worth experiencing while I’m back.

I’m thinking about staying in either Avondale or Borrowdale when I'm not staying with family. Would you recommend one over the other for a visitor, and are there any particular hotels, restaurants or bars worth checking out?

A few other questions:

• InDrive seems to be a reliable way of getting around Harare. Will drivers generally accept longer-distance trips outside the city, or would I be better hiring a driver/car for day trips?
• Who would you recommend booking day trips or tours through?
• What are the best day trips from Harare?
• For places further away, what would you say is genuinely worth giving up a night or two in Harare for?
• Are there any tourist traps or places that aren't really worth the time/money?
• Any areas, scams, transport issues or other things I should be aware of?
• Any restaurants, bars, markets or less obvious places that visitors tend to miss?

I’m open to pretty much anything. Since it’s my first time back since I was a child, I’d especially love recommendations from Zimbabweans about things that would give me a proper feel for the country rather than just ticking off the obvious tourist attractions.

I vaguely remember that when we visited in 2018 money was a bit complicated so we were doing some research - it looks like she’d be best served to take USD in small denominations, and set up Ecocash that she can add to from her UK bank account?
