It's funny how he pulled the traitor reveal and then got one-upped by the Prince of Darkness and accomplishing nothing from his treachery other than getting Yuri farther away from Nakia.

It’s episode 9 and this is like the fourth time the MC has been kidnapped, and like someone else mentioned yet another mind control power. I feel like I’ve seen everything this show has to offer multiple times over already…

I am just checking the thread to see if it's worth catching on this show, because I already didn't like how stupid, dumb and useless the protagonist is, but each time I check a discussion thread, I see why I don't want to watch it.
I love "captured damsel" types of animes, but I just couldn't stick with this one. Feels like the protagonist is useless, weak, always getting kidnapped and now there's tons of mind control shit?
Yeah, thanks for your comment, I'm avoiding this one.

The thing is that she IS growing a spine, the plot just does not care and it feels pointless. And I will say the mind control macguffin of the week has yet to be used but it’s the third(?) time some sort of mind control trick is relevant so it genuinely feels like the author knows exactly one way to move the plot forward. So yeah I’ve decided to drop it at this point lmao

As I said last episode, Yuri really living the life! She's even getting into the whole "pretend to be madly in love to make moves right under your opps's nose (but is it really pretending? 😏)".
And godamn, turns out Prince Kail is actually a very good flirt! (...Ignoring the whole forcefulness angle, or rather, being into it, as old school Shoujo assumes you ought to be)
We took the city, but we lost all the booty!
Very unlikely that Prince Kail would have proposed a plan that involved purposefully starting fires in the city, given how dangerous they seemed to be back then, from how much steps they took in their code of law to prevent it. I may be misremembering, but I think it said, for example, that if a fire started in your house, you would have to pay for the damages of the entire fire. Or that you and your descendants could be executed if you worked at a temple and a fire started because of your negligence.
Sounds like a fire could easily destroy the entire city.

Yuri's streak of not getting screwed (by Kail) while getting totally screwed (by the plot) continues. It's true, her both assertiveness and ability to think outside of the local box are growing, but the story really feels like two steps forward and one step back with the recurrent Perils of Yuri.

If Kail is going to make himself at "home" in Malataya, he's going to do so while acting like the most frivolous and horny prince he can, with his Harem of beautiful ladies and his leggy consort who he gives wine to via kiss. And did we mention this consort is a sex Goddess in bed?
Though in reality this is all to make them think he's not a threat while they work to take over Malataya without even having to kill anyone, all hinged on doing so without the Prince of Darkness showing up and messing everything up. Assuming there isn't any outside interference.
Yuri would rather go on a stealth mission than deal with Kail's sex drive, though at least she didn't screw that up.
Yuri is not emotinoally prepared for sex. Kail wants to have sex with her. But at least Kail is willing to meet Yuri half-way and express his love the way she's more comfortable with...so long as he still gets to be frisky and kiss her. Too bad their makeout session had to be interrupted.
How is Yuri going to deliver critical news to Kail while he's at a meeting barring women? By acting like a cute, clingy, girlfriend who wants him to take her to bed so they can't make love until dawn! And no one could possibly suspect it was all a ruse!
Nice job by the twins to flirt with and threaten the guards into releasing the gate and putting their plan into action! They pretty much have the city in hand by the time the Prince of Darkness shows up.
The good news is Yuri found the Eye of Illuyanka! The bad news is the "priest" was none other than Urhi and he's been sabotaging them all along so HE could get the eye. But despite his efforts he loses Yuri AND the Eye to the Mittani.
The Hittities are celebrating their victory but there's no celebrating losing Yuri. Ishtar has been purloined.

I like how chill the author is with guys being just horny, wish Yuri was a little less innocent but it is a 90s' series, it is too much to ask, at least for now probably.
The budget might be low but I'm enjoying the series. It is oddly entertaining.
