I decided on replaying AC Syndicate after playing Black Flag Resynced and OMG is it frustrating at times while other times it’s too damned easy.

The frustrating time include enemies can face 180° away from you and you hit B to kidnap them only for the enemy to instantaneously spin to face you and call out an alarm. Other cases you have almost perfectly kidnapped someone and there is nobody near and the victim just falls on the floor and calls for help only for a ton of coppers to surround you with billy clubs with the mission telling you that you can’t kill any cops. I just had that happen three times in a row before rage quit.

Other times you get enemies 12” from you and they can’t see you while other times they can be three buildings away and they call out alarms. I makes you realise just how good Shadows and Black Flag Resynced actually are. Ubisoft really were bad at games back in the SyndicHATE era.

I mean, even the outfits were pretty much identical with only slight colour variations.

I’m at the mission where you need to procure a guards uniform. Simple huh… but when I got the uniform it told me to hide the body of the unconscious guard in a carriage only there were no carriages nearby so I took the guard out to where there WERE carriages only for the guard to keep falling over and calling a flock of coppers. The only vehicles were Black Mariah’s (the vehicles used to take prisoners to jail). I’m thinking of calling a carriage full of Rooks lol.

I have played a havana assassins contract mission and when I killed each guard in stealth mode, one corps was found by an friend, the game activates the "investigation soundtracks" (yellow mode) somehow it triggered "confrontation" a soundtrack used in combat and played it more fitted for the actual situation I've been ("You are almost caught but you aren't so it doesn't sound that intense how it used to)

After that I wanted to find it inside the gamefiles, however after going through each individual SoundCue I never found this one alternative confrontation soundtrack

I even found 2 soundtracks which obviously get triggered in the game at some point in a important mission but there is no trace off them being online anywhere and without the title off the song it's even harder to find them, but atleast I know how they sound and wow they definetely deserve their place in the official OST Playlist

There are a lot of these sick soundtracks inside the game but not online which is actually such a shame and needs to be looked at

This is a bit of a rant but I find it so dumb that they added New stuff to be bought with the Keys. I love the game but for 100% it forces you to play every 3 days and do the same quests with little to no Variation. And now they literally added even more, making you collect 6000 keys more then before

We need more rooftop guards, and patrols walking about the cities, more reactions from them too. like sprinting past them makes the suspicious, standing to close or creating a scene in a future update. The cities are too empty without them, pls add this into the game even if it’s a difficulty setting thing Ubisoft. Bring a wanted system into the cities too, it’s needed. it’ll bring it closer to the original version.

In the September 1 update for Black Flag Resynced, they made it so that enemy markers/tags/chevrons appear over enemies' heads when you aim at them through Eagle Vision.

As someone who likes to turn the vast majority of HUD elements off, I don't need and didn't ask for these additional HUD elements, and I noticed there's no separate option in the settings menu to disable them.

Devs, if you're seeing this, please just provide a separate option to disable "enemy markers" or "enemy tags" or whatever you wanna call them. Some of us would rather just enjoy the game without them.

Edit: These tags/markers appear over enemies' heads even when you aim at them (with L2) when you're not in Eagle Vision.

I wanted to post this as soon as I saw it. Altaïr's outfit now has his fingerless gloves and Connor's outfit has his gloves and the shoulders have been made more broad! They look great but there is some very tiny bit of clipping with the gloves when Edward runs. Nothing too noticeable! In fact most people probably won't notice it at all.

But yeah! After years and years we FINALLY have Altaïr and Connor's outfit with gloves again!

The only reason I'm writing this is to vent and take out my frustration. I love this franchise with all my heart, and even though the newer games aren't for me, I still have so much love for this game series. So, when I heard that one of my favorite games in the franchise was getting a remake, I was slightly hesitant. I have to say, though, this remake was amazing, and I wouldn't be mad if Ubisoft continued making AC games like this. However, I still have some complaints, and those mainly come down to the controls and the newly added cutscenes. I changed the control scheme entirely to play more like the original games, and that helped a lot with my experience, but I still found some problems. For example, the parkour isn't as smooth as it was in the original. It feels like you don't have full control over Edward, and he feels too heavy at times, jumping to places that were nowhere close to where I directed him. This mainly happened during the last mission with Torres, which made it a pain to get through. He just feels stiff and unresponsive compared to the original. Then there's the combat. I like where they were going with it, but it felt unpolished. The lock-on system felt janky, often locking onto the guy behind the person I was fighting. During boarding, the camera would also get way too close to Edward, not really allowing me to see the other enemies around me. Then there are the newly added cutscenes, mainly in the Blackbeard side missions. They take place at a point in the story that doesn't really make sense. In the main story, Edward is finally starting to let go of his greed and understand that there are more valuable things in life. But when the side quest becomes playable, it's like he forgets all about that and goes back to being a dirty old pirate who just wants gold. The new cutscenes are just bad, in my opinion. I don't like the dialogue; it feels more like a Marvel movie with cringe writing than anything else. But this is something I feel is present in all modern Ubisoft games, not just this one. All in all, I really enjoyed my time with this game, and I'll definitely be going back to try and platinum it. I just feel like if the controls were a bit more polished and Ubisoft fixed their cutscenes, this definitely would have been a 10/10 experience. For now, though, I'd give the game a solid 8.5/10.

I was looking on the Switch 2 store a couple of nights ago and noticed that Shadows has come to the console, I was wondering if anyone knew or has any information as to wether the other RPG titles will be coming to Switch? I played all 3 on Xbox but now I only have the switch and miss playing them. Seeing Shadows gives me hope but haven’t been able to find any information

give us a dlc with Arno meeting Connor and facing Shay it would add so much to Arno's arc I would pay anything for that dlc

Hello, I’m currently playing through ac3, and I just finished sequence 10, right after the battle of Monmouth. In this sequence Charles Lee tries to get the patriots and Washington defeated by the British and end the war for the British. Haytham on the other hand seems to prefer an American victory to the war, despite his reveal of Washington to Connor as the burner of the village. So why isn’t Haytham upset with Charles?

So am I incorrect that Charles and Haytham seem to be on two separate sides here? Am I misinterpreting Haytham’s goals? Sorry for my ignorance but the story just leaves me a bit confused and I’m having a very hard time following.

Haytham and Lee have seemed completely disconnected from each other for several sequences and I simply don’t understand how they align together anymore.

Literally years ago I saw a glitch where one of the friendly pirate ships that roams around somehow got a health bar like a normal ship and I was able to get it down to boarding and it allowed me to board it. For some reason I never saw what happened back then though. I just saw this again when a pirate ship was getting attacked but I got killed by the ships it was attacking before I could board it. Has anyone ever seen this? I can't find anything about it.

While I definitely feel like each Era has had their own pros and cons, their own ups and downs, if I had to pick the one that resonated with me the most personally? I’d have to go with the Colonial Era. ACIII in particular is still my all-time favorite Assassin’s Creed game, period.

After Valhalla, many mysteries of the Isu lore remained unsolved. From what we know, each region had its respective Isu civilization. Greco-Romans were the same as what Eivor saw as Jotuns. Muspels were likely Egyptian Isu. Aesir were Germanic Isu. Dwarves were either hybrid or a primitive human race.

We know the Capitoline Triad examined six salvation methods. The first was creating four towers to absorb energy; only one was nearly completed before the catastrophe. But as we saw, that one tower, which was in Eitrei, was activated by Odin when he trapped Surtr in Salakar.

Now we have learned that the three remaining towers were also completed later by the remaining Isu and humans, which Desmond activated them in 2012. Both times when towers were activated, a device absorbed someone's consciousness, and then the tower was activated, so we can assume Salakar was the same device that Desmond touched in the Grand Temple, which was also visually similar. But it's strange that one tower was activated by the consciousness of so many Isu, including Baldr, Surtr, and Malvigr, while the three other towers only needed Desmond's additional consciousness.

Also, there's no explanation why Baldr's consciousness was so important and unique. As we know, Baldr also did this intentionally to stay alive and come back later. However, Odin could have ruined his plan because he first absorbed Surtr's consciousness, so Baldr's enemy is now along with him, and then asked Juno to free everything from the Salakar, which we don't know if she did or not and what effect it could have.

The other mystery is the reason for the deep hatred between Aesir and Muspels, and also why Surtr needed Salakar.

Another mystery is how Loki's and Juno's consciousness remained intact in Grey while Desmond was changed, and how they were freed by Layla and Desmond when the only thing they did was just entering Grey.

As for the other method of salvation, we know the seventh method was used by 8 Aesir plus Loki and also Aita, but Juno evolved the method so that Aita could be reborn every century.

Another method, which was saving consciousness in an object, was used by Alethia/Angrboda and Prometheus/Consus.

So I now have the new Xbox Series X update which allows me to claim digital licenses for my physical Xbox game discs. I have had success with many of my games so far, but disappointingly, it seems that Assassin's Creed game digital licenses can not be claimed from the disc as it says "Digital license unavailable - This game is not participating in digital licensing". I have tried Black Flag Resynced, Shadow, and Mirage, all saying the same thing.

Ubisoft, please allow the AC games to be part of this program!

"Some strange phenomena have been happening all across the globe. Several Assassin groups have been reporting sightings of Desmond Miles, thought dead for several years. For a few months, these sightings remained unconfirmed and mere say so. Until two bodies of Desmond Miles wash up in the River Thames together. The London Assassin's manage to obtain these bodies and confirm they are both Miles. But how? As several more sightings of Desmond Miles are reported across the world, the Assassins plug an agent into an Animus running off these body's DNA. By retracing Desmond's steps they hope to figure out what is happening, how, and why. But first, the agent is confronted by a digital entity that calls itself The Reader. The Reader explains that it is Miles, and apologises for what it must do. It traps the agent inside the Dark Animus, to slow the Assassins down. Whatever it is up to, it doesn't want them knowing.

The game takes place in the Dark Animus as the agent replays the actions of these multiple Desmond Miles. They hope to not only find out what's happening, but to also find a way out and report to the Assassins on the outside.

What is happening is this; The Reader has accessed an Isu vault that contains the means to manufacture Humans. These means were how the Humans were made. And The Reader has produced several Desmond Miles clones in order to chase down and access several vaults that Abstergo have control of. It seems Abstergo's been messing around with these vaults and disconnected them from the Isu Nexus greatly reducing the processing power that The Reader requires to continue simulating outcomes for the future. And The Reader wants to keep this to itself, because if anybody with the wrong motives find out there's a machine that can build Humans, that would be bad.

Once the agent manages to learn these facts and escape the Animus, they and the Assassins gather to help these several Desmonds by getting the Templars out of these vaults."

This concept includes the modern day, the Dark Animus, and even sees a return of Desmond Miles. All together I believe could prove to be a major revitalisation for the narrative of AC.

People saying Assassin's Creed Rogue just “reverses” Assassins and Templars didn’t pay attention. Rogue just shows the Assassins making huge mistakes, which explains why Achilles becomes wiser in AC3. And AC3 already proved neither side is good or evil. Washington burned the villages, not the Templars. Both groups want peace, just with different methods, freedom vs order.

I'm going through the Discovery Tour on AC Origins right now and I'm completely immersed. Ubisoft deserves all the recognition for this virtual museum of ancient antiquity. I really love how it's given me a reason to slow down and enjoy the rich environment the designers created as well as all the NPC animations that I never took time to pay attention to.

For history nerds like me, this is fantastic. I'm going to go through the entire tour. Then I'll do Odyssey's.

I actually went through Valhalla's first, and while I enjoyed it, it's really just not on the same level as Origins. Really wish they stuck with the same format, the narrative documentary wasn't much more informative than just playing the main game IMO. Overall still enjoyable though.

Ubisoft going back to Discovery Tour is high on my wishlist. Going through 16th century Japan or 18th century Caribbean would have been amazing. Would love to see it reprioritized.

Like, this has been a problem for me since Valhalla, but the way they handle sprinting in all of the more modern Assassin’s Creed games makes me want to pull my hair out.

So, sprinting is a toggled state. You push the button, and it makes you go faster. Simple, right?

Thing is, this also toggles the speed of your parkour. If you want to parkour faster and not be so sluggish, you need to be in a state of sprinting. Okay, that’s not too bad.

Thing is, if you, for whatever reason, come to a stop for even a single, momentary second, the sprinting state stops and you need to press the button again to resume it. And there’s a lot of moments while parkouring that you might stop for a split-second to recalibrate yourself, but that split-second is all it takes to end the sprinting state.

THING IS, the actual animation difference between parkour without sprinting and parkour with sprinting are just similar enough that it can sometimes take a second to register when the sprinting state ends and you need to press the button again, and sometimes, you’re already in a sprinting state but the parkour in the new games is already sluggish enough where you think ‘Maybe I’m not in the sprint state?’ so you’ll go to press the button and turn on sprint state only to realize, no, you were already in sprint state, the parkour is just that sluggish in this particular moment, and you’ve only accomplished in making yourself slower.

Now, I’m sure there’s probably a setting buried somewhere in the options menu that could allow you to switch from making sprint state a toggle button to a held down button, which would address pretty much all of my criticisms. Right?

THING IS, the sprint button is mapped to the L3 button, which is the single worst button in the entire controller to hold down when it is also your primary MOVEMENT SYSTEM!!

And, honestly, I know I’m making a mountain of a molehill here. I know this is way less of a big deal than I’m making it out to be. But it’s just such an avalanche of minor, nitpicky annoyances, and I’m just kinda tired of it after FOUR games.

EDIT: And, honestly? I think what really chaps me about this is that it’s such a monumentally easy fix. Just have some, ANY kind of indicator on the HUD that tells you whether sprint is currently toggled or not. But they haven’t thought to do this after FOUR GAMES?!

Other than that, though, I’ve been enjoying Resynced immensely. How about you guys?

I was introduced to AC back when I was in like 5th grade, and I remember being blown away not only by the mechanics of the game and progression, but also by the story. Completely hooked, I have purchased and 100% completed- well, nearly- every one of the following 19 games, excluding the mobile games on the phone. If the title doesn't make it completely clear where this is all going, I'd still like to give my assessment of how the series has evolved over all these years. AC one through the original Black Flag was absolutely incredible gaming, including all of the DLCs for those games. They each added new mechanics to deepen the world in such cool ways, as well as the graphics and story incorporation; incredible work.

Ubisoft created AC Unity with the idea of actually bringing their fans together as a brotherhood in that game, with one of the coolest, fun, huge, huge game located in Paris. We lost Desmond and his bloodline story, but they jumped right into other characters in another part of history and actually wrote a freaking banger game. I mean seriously, go back and play the game without the attitude of, "oh but it was so buggy." I mean seriously, the game has nearly endless gameplay, so far ahead of its time. Bare with me here, if you would, hopefully someone at Ubisoft, please, please, please, as a loving fan of these games and what truly made them so cool and what you are so poorly building your new era of games on the foundation of, not to say that every other game has been trash, but please go back and look over Unity and try to build off of that format of AC.

Look Ill admit, the origin new age style you guys have been trying to do has had some cool stuff too, but it isn't AC anymore. I beg of you to stop trying to make these games what they aren't. I'm not against change at all, and if I am the only fan here that feels this way, ok, ignore me. But if my fellow fans of the series agree, please go back to Unity at the very least and really look at what made that game what it is. The world feels huge, although it's only a small part of France, because the buildings are to actual scale and so detailed. The crowds of people make the city feel so densely alive, somewhere a hooded member of the Assassins could blend in and disappear in a flash. And for God's sake, coop. Come on, man, that shit is so freaking cool, and Jesus, I know it flopped back in the day because we just didn't have the proper tech, and don't forget the console wars. So, please, Ubisoft developers, community of AC fans, hear my cries for a return to what made these games so freaking cool.

Assassins Creed always had a scientific explanation for magic and mythology. I feel a wing suit akin to Batman in the Arkham games would be interesting to see as witches are always depicted as flying.
