I wired everything myself i can only hear distortion from the speaker is my RCA or amp wiring the cause I can't tell

I recently purchased a fender quantum lt-2 and a rode nt-1. I set up the fender application and plugged in my mic, but it only works for 30 seconds to a min until it slowly gets quieter and eventually it stops working, everything is completely brand new same with the XLR cable. It’s plugged into the usb c port which should be enough power (I’ve tried every port). I’ve tried looking it up and no matter what I try it just keeps fizzling out. It’s been a week and nothing has worked for me, I could just be stupid and maybe missing something in the fender control panel but i really don’t know. The only way I can get it to work for 30 seconds is by turning off and on the phantom power if that helps diagnose the problem. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

Even if I click on « connect » it just won’t.
I don’t understand why, my AirPods microphone works on there and the sound does come out from the headphones 🤷‍♀️

I tried disconnecting it, disconnecting everything, didn’t work.

My headphones are Playstation PULSE 3D™ that are connected with a jack outlet 😓

I'm moving in my new flat and i'm hesitating which one should be the best for this listening room from the pics,

Speakers would be placed in front of the sofa and i would mainly listen them from my sofa,

On the top of the picture is a sliding door, at the bottom the kitchen.

These revel speakers are the only options i consider, as i compared many speakers and already heard revel m126be.

Would you rather take the revel m126be or revel f226be ? What would be pros and cons ?

I'm asking because i can afford each of these speakers.

I could also add one or two sub (may be svs micro 3000r evo)

They would be paired with mini dsp flex and audiophonics mpa-s250ncx amp.

I purchased a new microphone off amazon. Nothing high quality, but based off the youtube reviews, recommendations for my price range, and amazon reviews - it seems like a solid mic.

However, I tried tuning this mic for OBS and I still sound so WEIRD. Either distorted, echoy, or its picking up my mouse/keyboard. I'm thinking about switching it to XLR or maybe I have it plugged into the wrong spot on my PC?

I've tried tuning it myself, following others tuning, still no luck.

I've never used XLR or gotten crazy deep in the audio world to really understand what I'm doing.

would it make a difference?

What do you guys think this noise is?

Been getting this “whooshing” noise in two of my condenser microphones recently (flea47, u87ai)

When it started with my 47, I thought it was either a failing tube or a dirty capsule. But I swapped out the tube, and the mic is only a year old. My tech says it’s fine. I then also noticed it in my u87ai which I started using when I thought it was an issue specific to my 47.

Could it be RF? My area is notorious for it, but usually I just pick up straight broadcasting rather than generic noise. I’m using a radial power-1 power conditioner (could upgrading this help?) and shielded mogami XLRs, and the noise continues when i move rooms and use my laptop powered Scarlett 2i2 instead of my rack apollo/preamp/compressor setup.

Any advice? Could this be something else?

For my subwoofer, in the Yamaha receiver menu there is a level menu. When I run the calibration it'll come back, -6 DB for example, while the gain knob is at 50 percent. If I want increased bass, is it better to use the knob on the back of the subwoofer and keep the level in the receiver? Or would it be better to increase it using the gain knob? Or does it not really make a difference.

There is an additional subwoofer trim level menu as well, when you go to options. I guess keeping that neutral would be the same?

I'm currently running a budget setup with a rsl speedwoofer 10e and polk tsi 300 towers as left and right.

I’m building my house and my living area is 200 sq ft, as mentioned, the house is open concept and my kitchen, dining and living area aren’t separated by walls (total 558 sq ft). I’m looking for something that will be better suited to music, Budget is around 2500. I can bump that to 3000 if need be but anything over that would be difficult. I’ve watched the Julian Krause video and read numerous Reddit posts explaining that there’s technically no difference in rejection between a condenser and dynamic mic

But why does my NT1 pick up my keyboard way more audibly than my SM57? They both have cardioid polar patterns, the mics are setup in the same relative position and direction, I’m staying the same distance away from both, I’m equating the gain such that my voice is the same level across both mics.

It’s night and day how much louder background noises get picked up by the NT1…

What am I missing?

Hi all, what is the best way to to calculate how much acoustic treatment is needed for a large hall (500+ people)? Is there a way to calculate what type of material would be needed for the acoustic treatment, how much is needed, where it should be placed, etc.

My initial thought was to use REW and based off of some calculations using the Sabin equation, it could help me determine how much treatment is needed, and then to create a design of the hall using EASE 5. Would this be the correct approach?

So to be fair I don’t know if what I’m looking for exists exactly. From chat gpt it’s called a mixer. Basically I want a dac of some kind I can use on pc and plug headset / iems into and mix both the inputs of my pc and Bluetooth from my phone. The reason I’m here is because ChatGPT was giving me only mixers for professional use that are huge and I’m wanting something that can sit on my desk.

I just bought a pair of elac db63 speakers and connected them to the Azur 640a v2 amplifier. The protection light keeps turning on and flashing 3 times after I try turning it on. According to the manual 3 flashes indicates an overvoltage/overcurrent detection, and to check is there are any connection issues. I checked all the connection points and they seem to be properly connected. Can anyone think of something else I can try to solve this?

So, I have a set of FIIO JT1 headphones that I've been super happy with. Unfortunately the cord got damaged and I don't have long before it fully gives out. The cord is a Y-split with all 3.5mm jacks and has surround sound functionality in each ear. I ordered an off brand replacement online but it splits into the same 2 mono outputs and lowkey chokes me.

Idek what specifically to look for because every listing I find is either the same XGYUYEVSHUB-etc brand aluexpress stuff or like $50.

In short, does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement cable that has three 3.5mm jacks and does split left and right-ear surround sound for a reasonable price?

I've got a video that I recorded by complete accident on a cheap Motorola phone while I was asleep, and I'm almost certain I hear my fiance and my cousin doing inappropriate things in the other room.

I can hear certain sounds clearly but theres a lot of loud background noise happening that's preventing me from having clear audio of them whispering.

In order for me to figure out how to approach this appropriately I need to know if I'm hearing what I think I'm hearing.

It will not be used as evidence in court or anything of the sort.

Hello, these are in my setup for my turntable. I wired two speakers to the A slots and the sub to the B slots.

When both A & B were active, the speakers kept playing but the sub didn’t come on. The sub came on when only B was active. The receiver kept clicking when I turned the subs volume up so I figured I needed to rewire it.

Any idea why the sub and the speakers aren’t working simultaneously? Thanks for reading!

Sup. I can barely find any real info on this stuff but was wondering if those Bluetooth dongles are legit or not. Something like the UGREEN USB Bluetooth Adapter for PC Bluetooth 6.0 Dongle Receiver. And what I mean is would it turn my 5-year-old PC that has 5.1 BT into 6.0 so I can get all of the benefits of 6.0? like PBR, better "lost my X", lower latency, etc?

Not too sure if this is the best place for this or not but basically I'm in the process of building a gaming room in my gfs garage (had to leave home for family reasons) and the AC unit I use is quite loud and was wondering whats the best way to go about dampening that sound, it doesnt pickup in my mic to much bc of audio filters but id still like it to be quieter in general, any tips? other advice to building good audio in a room in general is welcome as well

Hi all. I am building a studio in my new place and it is for recording my large drum kit (18-piece) and potentially whole live bands with multitracking. I just bought a capable recording computer, a Macbook Pro M3 14" to take advantage of CoreAudio. I have a PC I built with a Ryzen 9950X and a 9070 and 64GB of RAM with a lot of HDD storage to mix and master the tracks. I am trying to decide between the Presonus Quantum HD 8, the Audient Evo 16, the Universal Audio Volt 876, and potentially the MOTU 848. I have just received a Presonus Quantum HD 8 and I am trying it out but I am not in the studio yet. I like the QHD8 a LOT in person. The all metal construction, seamless configuration, huge amount of I/O, and monitoring display all really impress me. I have a MOTU M4 as my previous standard desktop interface, which can go with my laptop now and be a mobile recording unit, but that unit is what I have been basing quality off of since I got back into audio in the last couple of years. Unfortunately, MOTU does also seem to be the most expensive option for rack unit size stuff with a full 8 preamps and ADAT/optical expansion.

Feel free to suggest other units, but these 4 seem pretty hard to beat for the price range. The room is square, small-medium sized, sound treated with panels, and a tracking window for engineer use inside the room. The main needs I have for the unit are to be fully 32 bit capable, have at least 8 XLR inputs, have optical in/outs, and be well constructed preferably with metal covering. The mics I have to work with currently are an SM58, MXL V67G, 990, 991, Behringer B2 condenser, and will likely get Audix i5s or the Shure drum mic kit to round everything out. I do plan on getting high quality overheads too, and I am thinking about either the Samson CO2 pair or a pair of MXL V67N.

Hi all, I’m hoping this is a good sub to post this question (feel free to suggest a different one that could be more helpful). Me and my girlfriend are dressing as Daft Punk for Halloween this year, and I want some way to have a small mic inside of our helmets that changes our voice to a robot/autotune voice when speaking. Ideally this would be done in an affordable way, even if the result is somewhat lackluster it doesn’t really matter to me as long as the idea gets across. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can accomplish this?

Yoo guys. I really need some advice from the pro nerds on here. I am usually the type of guy who chases the absolute best bang for buck endgame gear but I decided to go a different route this time.

Setup + Wiring

I just sold my Focusrite Scarlett and dbx unit to grab a Wave XLR and I am also picking up a pair of Edifier Studio R1280DBs 2.0. I am mainly just going to use them for casual listening or when I have friends over ( I pretty much just use my IE900 or my AKG EO-IG955 anyway ). The Bluetooth feature is honestly clutch for when we play Switch together and just want to hook everything up wirelessly.

For the wiring my PC audio goes into my CalDigit hub and I need the other RCA cables for my turntable. I dropped a picture of my wiring plan below so feel free to roast it or give me some critique. All of that is sorted but now I am stuck with a huge problem. ( its ai slop , but you get it )

The Problem ( Speaker Placement )

Putting them directly on the desk doesn't work very well because there's a screen in front of it

I currently run dual monitors. I am planning to upgrade to a super ultrawide monitor soon but that will not actually solve my placement issue. I literally have no idea where to put these speakers.

I cannot mount them to my Kallax shelves either since they are mostly hollow inside and will not hold the weight ( and the Tild ). Wall mounting is also out of the picture because I am putting up COB LED strips on my acoustic panels soon and I guess the wires would totally get in the way of any wall brackets.

My best idea was getting extra tall desk stands to put the speakers above the monitors and angle them down. Since I use a Vernal standing desk this would be perfect because the speakers would move with the desk and stay angled right at my ears whether I am sitting or standing.

But here is the catch. The desk wobble is real. The taller the speaker stands are the worse the wobble gets especially when typing heavily. I am already dealing with some annoying monitor shake even though I bought expensive heavy duty monitor arms.

If anyone has dealt with this or has some smart ideas on how to make this work please let me know. I would really appreciate any help!
