Spend a lot of time with earbuds in and about to start having them in even more. I love midnight burger and was wondering if anybody has a similar show they’d recommend?

I'm looking for some new horror podcasts and j was hoping to find something that involves the sea in some way. Either a ship or a costal town

I love the eldritch horror vibes, characters being driven to madness and cult stuff

I LOVED the Magnus Archives, their production quality is so high it ruined me for anything else because I started there. I also loved Old Gods of Appalachia though I'm still working on it. I'm looking for good sound design and not two people chatting about lore or cases and I'm hoping to find one with a sort of long, overarching plot.

I have started Malevolent but I feel like they stop every once in a while to pause dramatically or restate a lot of things from just one or two episodes ago, and like they present options like a choose your own adventure book. I'm still working my way through it but I need something to scratch this itch without 'Dramatic pause.... ARTHUR!'

Hi. Before I hop into my review I’d like to kind of throw out some information to qualify my review. I’m just a guy who listens to audio dramas. I’m not an actor or creator or anything adjacent. Like over 20 years ago I did high school drama. So I’m just a fan. Also I’ve never done a review outside of talking about movies, shows, books, and games with friends. So I’m approaching this as humbly as I can. These are just my opinions and I don’t think my voice is any more or less important than anyone else. I just ask if I made a take that you disagree or think is bad you don’t flay me and just maybe educate me or give your opinion in a peaceful friendly manner. I’m also practicing this because I’m kind of wanting to post my reviews in a video format maybe someday. So thanks and let’s get to it.

The Don’t Mind series as of this writing has two entries. Cruxmont the first series and Sealskin Rock being the second entry. They are created by the creative team at Fool & Scholar. Same people behind other audio dramas like the Liberty podcast and the white vault. Both amazing and worth giving a listen.

I’d say both series of Don’t Mind could be described supernatural suspense thrillers/mysteries. Horror light even.

What’s strong about them is the writing and the dialogue are great. The production and quality of sound is top tier. They are amazingly well casted. The acting is superb.

Where they kind of suffer a bit is from time to time there are moments that don’t feel like they are adding anything. No character development or adding or moving the plot. Just feels like rifting which maybe can add of sense of real life but sometimes feels like padding an episode. It’s not all the time and sometimes you don’t really notice but they’re there.

The real hard point is Sealskin Rock’s ending… was not satisfying at all. It felt rushed, explained little to nothing, and in my opinion kind of abandoned are protagonist in a “this is fucked” kind of way.

While overall I love the stories they do have some shortcomings so my instincts were to rate this a 6/10.

If people like this I’ll rate Desert Skies next.

Last year, i was listening to a horror podcast on spotify and im having trouble finding it again

The main story is that a guy crashes down into earth, with him are a collection of tapes that a radio show host goes through with some kind of doctor

As the story progresses, we discover that he is from an alterante earth, he lacks emotion, his wife cheats on him he because his sperm has low motivity, and kills the guy, whos name was garth, garp, something like that.

Theres some kind of box that brainwashes people which doesnt work on him due to the lack of emption

I'm happy to be posting here amongst such esteemed company! I've written a full season of a forthcoming pulp-adventure-Weird-folk-horror-Southern-Gothic audio drama, and have reached the point of casting and beginning recording.
