2nd trimester loss help

Hi, I always thought I’d just be a reader here and never post, but I’m desperate for some encouragement. March 28 of this year I experienced PPROM losing my baby girl at 15 weeks. It was the most devastating thing I’ve ever experienced and still to this day feels like it just happened yesterday. I got my period back in May and didn’t feel like having sex again until around mid June. I started tracking ovulation after last months cycle and yesterday, I started my period. I see stories of women only able to conceive once and it ends in loss and it’s heartbreaking and I fear that may be me. I’m just hoping for a little bit of encouragement because I’m feeling so hopeless right now.

I think all of universally feel broken after loss and are afraid of never getting pregnant again. You are so not alone in that feeling. 🫂

It helps finding people to talk to. r/ttcafterloss and r/ttcafterstillbirth are good places to find moms going through the same thing.

First of all, I’m so sorry for your loss❤️‍🩹

I lost my son at 17 weeks due to PPROM. They never found out was caused it.

Even though I was still very much grieving the loss of my son, we did try again after my period came back. It took us 6 months, but I am now 18 weeks pregnant.

I’m still not convinced that this pregnancy will end with me having a healthy baby in my arms, but that’s just the anxiety talking. Currently ‘enjoying’ my preventative cerclage and extra progesterone to help my body with the pregnancy.

There’s absolutely a chance that you will be able to conceive. Is there a reason for you to believe that you’ll never be able to?

No body is the same, and you’ve proved to be able to get pregnant before. Keep hope and I wish you all the strength to cope with the loss of your girl!

Thank you for your kind words. I am so sorry to hear about your son. No I don’t have any medical reason but it happened so fast the first time I guess part of me thought it would again. I tracked my ovulation last month and got my surgery CD19 which I know is kind of late. Thank you again for your kindness and I wish you the absolute best in your pregnancy

A loss like that is absolutely shattering and it can feel impossible to move forward. We lost our 2nd baby last year at 22 weeks due to PPROM. We waited about 8 months before we decided we were ready to try again, and I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby. Please don't lose hope. I recommend finding support, whether that be through friends, family, or a therapist to talk to. This has been a huge help for me. You're not alone. Sending you comfort 🫂

I’m so sorry to hear that you experienced this loss as well. I am currently in therapy but September 23rd was my due date and it just crushes me. If you don’t mind me asking how long did it take you to concieve once you started trying again? Congratulations on your pregnancy I wish you and your baby the best health 🩷

I started tracking my ovulation 2 months before we tried just to make sure I was ovulating when I should be. We got pregnant the first cycle we tried.

I also experienced a sudden loss at 15 weeks in August. Doctors still don’t know the cause, but expect incompetent cervix since baby was developmentally normal after chromosomal testing. I’ve spent countless hours reading about PPROM, incompetent cervix, clotting disorders, uterine disorders, placenta issues — all the most common reasons for second trimester losses — and have been inspired that so many women are able to conceive and birth healthy full-term babies after suffering this hell. I’m sorry you went through this too, but I’m hopeful for you.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss 😞 it’s devastating. Mine was caused by a SH. I guess I got lost on some stories of women never being able to conceive again and it just upset me so much. I got my period back in May and we didn’t really start “trying” until June. Thank you for your well wishes. I wish you the absolute best too
