Mine is the Perfect Genetic Soldier Monologue from Bison in Street Fighter. I must've watched it a billion times because it's that awesome, only followed by my second favorite one, the Atomic Supermen monologue in Ed Wood. Raul Julia really carried the movie and gave us the gift of such powerful monologue.

It was indeed BEAUTIFUL.

I had this on a 4-way creature feature DVD with Spiders 2 (They're on a big boat this time!) and Octopus 1 and 2 (I never watched them because, to quote 8 year old me, "Spiders are cooler and octopusses are stupid").

It's fantastic. Still a yearly watch, it follows a UFO reporter chasing a lead to a secret government base where a secret government space shuttle has crashed, along with it's cargo/experiments of genetically engineered secret government Spiders and crew of secret government goopified victims.

In fact, I don't even know if it's meant to be secret. I think it is just a good 'ol NASA Space Shuttle, but they fuck about with spiders, and everyone just has the vibe of secret government secret people.

I LOVED this movie. Still do, tbh. Admittedly I was obsessed with Spiders (The first DVD I ever bought online was Eight Legged Freaks!), but it has a familiar charm to anyone that loves the blend of corporate horror and science gone wrong that encompasses the entire Resident Evil franchise. That's why I loved it, anyway.

I can't get it out of my head, "Female lead investigates a secret underground lab where genetically a genetically engineered monster gets loose, turn on it's creators, before the big bad corporate agent guy willingly mutates into a giant monster hismelf, going on a bit of a bender, before being put down by a quip and a rocket launcher" is basically the plot of Resident Evil.

The sequel was much less fun, and much worse all around. Spiders feels like an earnest effort on a low budget, and that effort shines through to soften where it lacks.

You might recognise several actors, including Lana Parrilla from her longstanding role on Once upon a Time, and also Season 4 of 24, and Jonathan Breck from Jeepers Creepers!

And our lead villain. What a guy. The hammiest Willem DaFoe look-a-like they could get, and god does this guy relish every ounce of hot nonsense he has to read.

Honestly, if you're down for low-budget creature features, with bad CGI (But some genuinely fantastic make-up and practical work to make up for it!), give it a shot.

It's bad, but I love it.

I'm on the hunt for the best bad movie that came out this year. So far my top three (in no particular order) are Mercy, Niu Lai, and Propeller: One-Way Night Coach. Obviously the new Breen will be a contender, if I can find a way to see it. What else is going on out there, what news hits have y'all found?

Battleship is a bad movie because it combines a thin story with a very loud, effects-heavy blockbuster style. That doesn't mean it's unwatchable—it's actually entertaining if you enjoy dumb, spectacular action—but critics found plenty to dislike

The premise is ridiculous. It turns a board game about guessing coordinates into an alien-invasion movie, which requires a lot of contrivance to make the game mechanics matter.The plot is predictable. The aliens arrive, humanity struggles, the hero screws up, learns a lesson, rallies everyone, and wins. There aren't many surprises.

The characters are thin. Alex Hopper, played by Taylor Kitsch, gets a conventional "reckless guy becomes a leader" arc, while many supporting characters exist mainly to fill action-movie roles The dialogue is often cheesy. There's a lot of military-movie shouting, inspirational speeches, one-liners, and exposition that can feel unintentionally funny.

It takes itself too seriously. The movie is based on a game, but instead of embracing the absurdity, it frequently presents its premise with enormous dramatic weight. The aliens aren't particularly interesting. They're mostly generic invading extraterrestrials, and their motivations and technology aren't explored very deeply.The Rihanna factor was distracting to some viewers. Her casting attracted attention, and critics generally didn't consider the performances—hers included—the movie's strength. It wastes its huge budget. The naval battles look impressive, but the spectacle doesn't compensate for the weak screenplay. There's a lot of noise and destruction without much emotional investment. The tonal mix is awkward. It jumps between comedy, military drama, romance, disability representation, and giant-scale alien warfare. Some viewers find that combination charming; others find it incoherent.

That said, “bad” doesn't necessarily mean “not fun.” Battleship is a pretty good example of a bad-but-entertaining blockbuster ridiculous premise, questionable writing, enormous explosions, and enough commitment to the absurdity that some people genuinely enjoy it. Its biggest sin may simply be that it takes itself more seriously than its premise can support.

Kevin Spacey is back and in probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It's fantastic

Jason X, it’s often considered a bad movie because it takes the Friday the 13th formula in a ridiculous and goofy direction

The setting feels gimmicky. Jason being transported to space and turned into “Uber Jason” sounds fun on paper, but it strips away the isolated-campground atmosphere that made the earlier movies work.The characters are mostly disposable. Many are written as exaggerated stereotypes, so it’s hard to care when Jason kills them.The comedy undercuts the horror. The movie frequently treats Jason as a punchline. Some viewers enjoy that deliberately cheesy tone, but if you want a genuinely scary slasher, it hurts the movie.The story is ridiculous. Cryogenic freezing, a futuristic spaceship, a holographic recreation of Camp Crystal Lake, nanotechnology, and a cybernetic Jason make it feel more like a sci-fi parody than a Friday the 13th film Jason himself becomes almost too powerful. Once he gets his futuristic upgrade, there’s very little suspense because you know the characters have almost no chance.

That said, Jason X is arguably “so bad it’s good.” If you approach it as a ridiculous sci-fi slasher/comedy rather than a serious horror movie, there’s actually a lot to enjoy—especially the holodeck Camp Crystal Lake sequence and Jason's absurd transformation into Uber Jason.

My boyfriend and I finally got to watch Big Shark. I bought the blu ray and it came with a surprise personalized signed picture of Tommy Wiseau.

I cannot put into words my opinion of the movie. You’ll just have to see it for yourself. It’s a spectacle in itself. Non stop laughs though I must say.

Very fun action B movie staring ex-American football player John Matusak ( I had to look him up, I know nothing about football) as LAPD detective Jake Swan.

After his partner is killed in a gunfight by drug dealers he becomes a private detective investigating the kidnapping of a Rockstar. The same goons who killed his partner are involved! It's low budget but not badly made and i think if you have a soft spot for straight to video 80's/90's action you'll like this.

Also stars Robocop's Ronny Cox as a shouty police lieutenant and genre movie regulars Richard Lynch and Charles Napier. I was expecting James Hong to turn up too but sadly the didn't.

Matusak is an enormous angry man, he smashes down doors with his bare hands, swings bad guys around by their feet and picks up a fridge and kills a guy with it.

The action is frequent and satisfyingly old school with blood squibs and a car chase where it looks like a stuntman nearly died but they kept it in the movie because it was cool. Also boobs. The soundtrack rocks too with synths, saxophones and guitar licks which sound like they could be from Lethal Weapon.

Maybe I'm easily pleased but I kind of loved this.

A friend with weed is a friend indeed.

This movie has Mary-Kate Olsen as a witch who curses a private school prick to be a beast, and by beast, I mean he looks like the lead singer of a death metal band. It does have Neil Patrick Harris, so that's something, and good for a few laughs if watched with friends.

Beastly (2011) A modern-day take on the "Beauty and the Beast" tale where a New York teen is transformed into a "hideous monster" in order to find true love.

Best movie I've ever seen that has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Everybody has that one crazy movie they've seen that has extremely low ratings everywhere but they personally loved every moment of it. This was mine. It's unironically a 10/10 movie.

This movie made feel like a kid again and had me so excited the entire time because stuff just kept happening and the movie kept moving forward outdoing itself, with rarely a dull moment. I was squirming in my seat wondering how this movie was so good and was literally on the edge of my seat wondering what was around the next corner. It's so unpredictable and insane. Some people will probably consider this movie criminally bad, but it's everything I want from a raunchy sex comedy. I saw the sequel, it sucks, that deserves its low ratings, but this the opposite.

If Dazed and Confused is the definitive high school movie, this is the definitive college one. Even the best scenes in American Wedding don't compare to this.

I watched "Emilia Perez" as a joke to myself and to see if it was realy that bad (it was), then reciently i watched "Lesbian Space Princess" again to see if it was that bad (in my op worse than "Emilia Perez") now i wanna watch "The room" and "Exterminator City" (This one i kinda watched the first 20min but is basicaly a porno and just ended up falling sleep)

My question is there any other famous bad movies that i should watch?

Of course I read every bad movie appreciation piece that gets published, but rarely do they actually capture how and why I live this art form. I’m getting ready to show Fateful Findings to my best friends this week, and look what pops up as the featured story in the New Yorker! Apologies in advance that I couldn’t find a way to post a gift link. (Also, don’t we need a Breen-specific flair? Genre? Hahahaha)

A guy and his girlfriend played by the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer Kirsten Swanson are on their way to Vegas to get married when they encounter the Hell Cop. He kidnaps Swanson so she can be Satan's virgin bride in hell. The hell cop is basically Michael Myers with a set of literal hand cuffs and a gun made from silver plastic tubing.

A very entertaining B movie full of cool practical effects, stop-motion animation, car stunts and crashes. I really enjoyed this because something weird and interesting was happening every 5 minutes and it's mostly played straight which makes it more fun.

Hell is a vast desert with a Lost Boys style gang led by a guy who looks like Eddie Vedder, a donut shop full of zombie cops and a strip club with boobs and people from various time periods who have been sent to hell.

Also features a very Young looking Ben Stiller as Genghis Khan, Gilbert Gottfried as Hitler and rock legend Lita Ford for some reason. Patrick Bergin plays the devil and i can't tell if he is doing a bit or is just a bit depressed.

Definitely recommend!
